2:17 describes exactly how I feel with charge blade. I just picked up the game last week and love to play as a paladin-like character. I suck at memorizing, so when I looked up how to do it and got bombarded with info, I knew that the large wooden pole in the training room was going to be my best friend for a while.

The chargeblade bit is so real. I picked up this game on a whim bc it was on sale, with absolutely 0 idea what the game was about, and chose to main chargeblade bc it looked cool. I played probably 80 hours before I realized you could charge up the sword and shield 🙃🙃🙃
This game is really good at making you feel that you are bad at everything. I'm 40 hours in and barely know how to use 2 of the weapons. I learned how to (mostly) use chargeblade by figuring out what buttons i need to spam in order to do damage, used dual blades and realized that I'm not satisfied with my ability to do damage with them, and I'm in the process of adopting the bow and longsword, but the longsword's attacks are too complex for my smooth brain to understand and i need to know how to use a bow as I am tired of trying to reach flying monsters with my chargeblade. Although it is satisfying that the more you die, the better you become at not dying to each particular monster. Maybe after 300 hours I could even be good at the game.
@@marcinmisiek768 you should pick a weapon class and stick to it longer. chargeblade does have tools to deal with flying enemies you just need to find them. Personally I used switchaxe for entire story and iceborne and a bit beyond, all the way through, with no other weapon. There's no need to hotswap, focus on mastery over versatility.
Ok but can we just appreciate the editing? I’ve been laughing my ass off every 5 seconds for any single gimmick or reference or whatever you added. Top notch.

You just keep getting better and better man, I love monster hunter and this video had me in tears. This was fantastic. Everything about it. The entire video. Seriously, I was laughing my ass off, thanks for this!
5:21 - GAAAAAWDDDDAMN, This part inspired me to press forward in this game, I started this about two weeks ago and I've been hooked learning all of the weapons, and I'm still learning new moves and maneuvers every hunt.
Thanks for the vid. I laughed so hard watching this. The humour and tips like that speeding up menu. I didn't know that. I remembered when fighting tempered elder dragons that I think I hit a wall, I almost quit this game. Then I practice and practice on solo and it became easy. Same with Alatreon which I enjoyed fighting because of his moveset.
alatreon is kinda cheesy. the game has been centered around player choice, then they come out with a monster who has elemental dps checks. She herself is not that hard, its the nuance that comes with her that is.
@@shadowthetwisted I agree. The difficulty isn't the problem. The dps check is imo, anti Monster Hunter. It's unfortunate. But oh well. Hopefully Fatalis won't have something like that.
This is my favorite Monster Hunter World video, every time I feel like quitting or getting angry because of some shit hunts when trying out new weapons, it makes me feel like I'm not just alone in this. It brings out something in me to keep pushing. Thank you for this video.
@@jordanhatt6824 One point in Unflinching will eliminate that knockback. Just in case you didn't know, but it costs perk point which I get might be more preferable.
Which is why I picked up bow because I legit refused to take LS into public games in World. I've always soloed MH with LS ever since I came into the series
Lunk Except that without evade window 3+ that won’t work because Monster Hunter roll I-frames are significantly lower than Dark Souls’ That, and that because of this most of Alatreon’s attacks’ hitboxes last longer than your I-frames, so you’ll get hit anyway (of course unless you have evade window 3).
I keep coming back to watch this on occasion because it really encapsulates the feeling of playing monster hunter. I remember when I started playing 3 Ultimate, I didn't even know that Longsword had moves that used the Spirit Gauge for like, 10 hours at least. And now here I am having played for multiple thousands of hours across multiple monster hunter games, having used every weapon to some level of success, understanding the skill system and making mixed sets even as I progress through the game, ready to squeeze out all the potential out of the armor I can craft as I tackle all the challenges the games throw at me. The love of monster hunter is loving the challenge, and this video represents it so well for me. Plus I still love the 2 bits of "And then you fight a funny monkey! :D" and "Oh this fight is fucking terrible!" (or whatever the exact phrasing was with Lavasioth)
I appreciate that he didn't mention that _one_ -Monster- flying bastard that we all came to know, love, and hate in High Rank so that anybody who picks up the game thanks to this video doesn't have the surprise ruined.
I swear this game changed my life. Specially the end game monsters. It was like fighting a tuned-based game's superboss but without the turns. Fatalis fight is one of my favourites of all time, but I have to give Alatreon the best fight of the game. He's my favourite elder dragon, fighting him with his glorious theme feels like I'm fighting the definition of apocalypse.
depends on your definition of heavy i guess, if youve played mmos then saying mh menus are heavy sounds like incompetence; its so minimalistic compared to other rpgs
5:22 hits home with me on a special level. I’m a monster hunter guy who generally fights monsters alone and resets after a single cart, invalidating a hunt that likely lasted half an hour or so over a single mistake.
I relate to this on a very personal level. Hell, you even touched on the reasons that took me to speedrunning in Monster Hunter, even if I don't think that was your intention. It's just that this video really captures everything I love about this series. Congratulations on this masterpiece!

Actually those games are perfect for getting good against alatreon since you can roll through all of his attacks when you learn the timing.
Lunk Except that without evade window 3+ that won’t work because Monster Hunter roll I-frames are significantly lower than Dark Souls’
That, and that because of this most of Alatreon’s attacks’ hitboxes last longer than your I-frames, so you’ll get hit anyway (of course unless you have evade window 3).
