- Welcome to the first ever Distant Nebula!! A new series inspired by TH-camrs like Nintendrew, MetalJesusRocks and The Completionist among others! Today we're looking at the Collector's Edition of The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and talking a bit about all the different version of the game that have come out over the years!

Well I was browsing the Zelda Wiki for info for this video and I saw that was the unofficial name of the Chamber of the Sages in Ocarina of Time, a game that would headline the first Video of my new Live Action segment, now called Distant Nebula!

It's weird how Nintendo tried to avoid controversy with fire temple, yet decided to make gold edition harder to get
i honestly wish i had the 1.0 release. i like the chanting, i think it fits the theme of the fire temple well.

There was all so blood in the Bottom of the Well and the Shadow Temple and there was a change to the mini Boss Dead hand and Skull kid was originally black. I have version 1.0 and i still have my gold cartridge from when i was 6 years old back in 1998 i am happy to have mine.

Found a gold cartridge on marketplace for $20! Had a completed save too and has the blood, chants and original shield/block symbol. Very happy and lucky!
I used to own the gold version way back in the day never realized how rare it was and it was either lost or sold many many years ago. Dam shame. We also used to have a wardrobe full of old old disney and many other tapes. They all got sold in a garage sale. Also used to have the fancy n64 the neat see through one with the controller to go with it. And I had a very strange army men sarge heros n64 as well from when the game first came out. It was a pure light green system with the 3D0 logo and the sarge with a flag. It was pretty neat.
When I was 7 years old I went with my parents to buy this game, we didn't pre-order it, and a gold cartridge came out. You probably needed to pre-order the game to get it in gold from where you live... FYI I live in Australia

Zelda Ocarina of Time Special Edition:
The Special Edition was distributed by a publishing company called Cyber Games in Germany, which had an exclusive contract for it with Nintendo.
However, the company went bankrupt in late 1999 - early 2020 (bankruptcy).
It is said to have been sold between 5 to 10 complete copies.
From the 2020 packaging, 75 copies (empty boxes) of this Zelda Special Edition were found in an attic find, so it is assumed that around 100 copies should be sold.
If you can get a box, you have the opportunity to recreate the contents of the Special Edition.

+ cyber games advertising flyer for Zelda (which was not stated as content of the edition)
I've had OOT CE since I was a kid and didn't know it wasn't the standard version

I own a gold cartridge. If that wasn't rare enough, it's ver. 1.1, which is extremely rare I assume because the gold cartridges are usually ver. 1.0, while saying some ver. 1.1 gold cartridges exist. I got it for christmas when I was 6 years old (2014). I've beaten the game from start to finish three times & the cartridge is in great condition after 7 & a half years.
these gold cartridges were never sold in Europe as far as I know, at least not in the UK from what I could find. But lucky for me, my favourate second hand shop actually has some Australian import gold cartridges both in and out of the box in stock, so when I get myself an N64 at some point I'm definitely going to get that version. I prefer the look to the bog standard grey cartridge with the black label

So, not sure why the have the Player's Choice as 1.2 copy. The Player's Choice version I seen has the crescent moon on the blocks and shield. The blood is red in the game, but it doesn't have the Islamic Chant in the Fire Temple. So not sure what Speedrunners are looking at, but they might want to play all of them. One article stated that the symbols were changed in the 1.2 version of the game. I watched Hard 4 Games who owns a gold cartridge and they stated it is a 1.2. It has the updated symbols green blood, and no Islamic chant in it. So I'm not entirely sure if Speedrunners actually checked the carts entirely

I had a gold one but my older brother pawned it when I was young😞
My copy of v 1.0 totally quit working. I still have it but the screen turned green when trying to play it. I prefer the original fire temple theme. I also think the moon of the mirror shield and blocks look nicer.

I keep having this wierd memory of getting up ontop of hyrul castel town on the outside part from hyruel field and finding a secret song up their. Idk why I have this memory and I know that this isnt really there but for some reason it's a memory i have. I also have a strange memory of somehow accessing a secret song that can turn you into a like not adult but a older version of young link via the orcarina. Again idk why I have these memories for I know that none of it is true. Maybe it's just because when oot first came out I was a very young young kid and just dont remember it right but it feels so real.
Why did the game have so much symbolism from Islam? The shield and the fire temple song. This is a Japanese game so I find this very confusing.
