I remember playing this in fourth grade... all drawing pictures of Link, talking about getting stuck in the water temple, how great the music was, etc. My parents recently moved out of the house I grew up in and I found my original strategy guide with all the songs written down by hand. Simply one of the greatest games ever made.
I still have this OG cartridge as well! So many memories with my older brother and sister that I’ll never forget. I’m turning 22 this Sunday, yet playing this game as a kid felt just like yesterday. It’s priceless how this game is truly an eternal time capsule for us all
You know I really loved seeing people when their childhood games bring it back like very old and very many years before but at least you have the childhood memories about it and at least you're happy again and remember
That OG fire temple theme terrified me as a 17 year old 😆. I remember getting oot for Christmas 1998, I was not a fan and didn't even know about zelda but my dad decided to get me an n64 and the game as a surprise, I'm a huge zelda fan now.
Ocarina of Time is so special to you and it’s your gameplay of this game that had me discover you and your TH-cam channel. Ocarina of Time was my very first LOZ game and you helped me through the game. I’ve been a fan of your videos every since :) Thanks for still being here, giving us great vids to watch
A Link to the Past was my first Zelda but Ocarina of Time was the first Zelda I beat and then circled and beat the others. I still have my copy that I bought when I was 14 back in 1998.
Fun fact: if you wait on the title screen of OoT and go through 2 cycles, you will get different clips than just the one of the spirit temple. For example, you can see Link and Sheik in Death Mountain Crater presumably after learning the bolero of fire. Link is actually wearing his green tunic in that too.
A nostalgia walkthrough would be fun to watch. My sons have enjoyed your walkthroughs. Sharing what I grew up with with them has been a blast as a parent 💛
I will always keep that game so close to me and since every year it goes on by ill never let that game go may this always keep a wonderful experience and keep Saving hyrule for ever and ever!
Honestly the video capture for the authentic N64 being low quality is part of the experience. Emulating OOT in high res loses some of the important little bits of extra when your shadows are stupid dark and it’s hard to see the distance and the textures don’t look so blurry
I still have the cartridge, I remember preordering it, picking it up at a KB toy store and getting a t-shirt with it, maybe that was part of the preorder deal.
25 years ago? Old 👴... Oracle of Ages got me into the Zelda series and I didn't play Ocarina of Time until the Game Cube version got released. I didn't have an N64. I had a Playstation. I mostly played the Spyro trilogy on that one. I don't know if it's a good idea to blow on the cartridge but it sometimes works. This game is lower quality then I thought. I am so used to playing the PC version. There is an N64 filter on the PC port but I don't use it. I did try it out to see what it looked like before switching back. You don't necessarily need an adapter to play N64 game from different regions. You can mod your N64 to be region free, you can carve out parts of the cartridge which is a bit risky, or just replace the back of the cartridge with one from a different region. I think the 64DD does work on an American console but you may need to use those region methods to use the games that are compatible with it. Why do you own the Japanese version? I don't think it's that different from the original. I sometimes give Link a funny name like "ARRRRRRGH!". Recently I named Link "uh...you". I also use the red tunic. It's very useful since it's fire proof and you can walk on spikes for a few seconds without taking damage. I prefer to keep the shield. This game didn't scare me too much. I was in my teens when I first played it. I never had issues calling Epona. You have the uncensored version. Lucky. Do the Skull Kids have black skin and does Ganon vomit red blood as well? I remember seeing Ganon vomit red blood and wondered why it didn't happen in the version I played. 13:24 You know the language?
Loved oot as a zelda game. One of my favorites in the series and the game series I am rewatching for like, the billionth time on your channel. Love your content ZM, always will, do you think Nintendo will make another remake for the game for the next Nintendo console?
Also btw, forgot to mention, would love to see you do a replay through of the original game! Would be an amazing experience, especially since I know very little of what the original version had versus the ones we have now.
Oh man, I remember sharing games with my brother! We had one Nintendo DS between us when I was 11 and he was 9 back in 2005, and we used to play Animal Crossing and Nintendogs. It was hard enough waiting for my turn with one sibling, I can’t imagine four!
My OG North American cartridge unfortunately but the dust, but a friend and I got a Japanese copy years ago that we physically modded to play on a NA N64 and it still works
6:06 I though Luke mentioned in his first Wind Waker HD playthrough (around the time of WWHD’s launch) that he discarded the cartridge in a garbage bag.
My cousins mom’s boyfriend bought him an ocarina of time N64 cartridge to impress him but he owned a PlayStation. So he gave it to me and that’s how I became a Zelda fan. Completely by accident.
Definitely bring back memories when I first play this after watching my auntie rest her soul at first I was scared because of the redead and how they sound but it doesn't matter me when the time past
I remember when my super nintendo had a saving problem where if we took the cartridge out of the snes it would reset our files, so I would always get ip to the master sword before it was my brother’s turn and then cry about how my file would be deleted at least i’m good at mastersword speedruns
not Zelda related but I had such a nostalgic moment when I was going through boxes in my garage and a Gameboy color fell out of one of the boxes to only realize that it was my childhood Gameboy color and when I put batteries in it, it didn't turn on but after cleaning the battery terminals with isopropyl alcohol and then it was fine but unfortunately i do not have the pokemon blue cart I played on when I was younger
I still have my OoT and Majoras mask n64 games AND boxes. Both are the gold special editions. I was lucky to get the gold OoT one back in the 90s. Ganondorf has red blood in that game instead of the green in other editions.
It would be awesome to watch you do a play through of the original! I have my original copy too and it’s the same one with the original fire temple music
I remember playing this game as a kid and i fell in love. It was super difficult that i never passed it back then there was no TH-cam nothing! You were on your own but if you owned Nintendo Power magazines they helped you a little! Thank you Shigeru Miyamoto for inventing zelda and thank you for my beautiful childhood!❤️ Now i own almost all zelda games and can't wait for what comes after Tears of the Kingdom!❤
And it is still hard to believe this game was going to be bigger (proof given by content from URA-Zelda and knowing Mido and the other Kokiri girl were going to be Sages acknowledging this game as a prequel from Zelda II adventure of Link
Five boys?! Wow, what a party that must have been every day! :) I helped raise 5 girls (my stepdaughters) along with my 2 sons, and it was wild. The boys were more interested in playing video games and most of the girls were into fashion and fixing cars. Go figure. So exciting that you still have your original cartridge and an actual Nintendo 64!! I don't remember what happened to any of our old consoles or games. They either got sold or lost when we moved, or some may be stored in boxes somewhere. How cool! :)
Yes , Ocarina of time was a magical game , probably one of the best game I played , I also have followed you in all the latest walkthrough of each Zelda game , but I never finished the latest '' tears of the kingdom'' because I think that this particular game after while got too repetitive . I would like to know what was your thoughts about the latest game over all . Thank you .
I've played the 3ds ocarina of time like a year ago and it took me 20 days to finish the normal series, my favorite is ocarina of time, wind waker and twilight princess
Personally I love my original hardware copy more than the emulation or 3ds remake…mainly since my copy has the original fire temple music, and the red blood-can’t get it anywhere else 🙂 I will be very sad the day the battery in the cart dies. To me sounds like epona was stuck on something nearby but yeah that is crazy. I’ve never even seen that glitch in my cart!
When I had the og cartridge, i was at the temple and my mom heard the bismallah and allahu akbar chants, and thought i was playing at satanic game bc of the chants and told me to turn it off. That was the last time I saw that cartridge until recently 😅
This game is the definition of magical.
I remember playing this in fourth grade... all drawing pictures of Link, talking about getting stuck in the water temple, how great the music was, etc.
My parents recently moved out of the house I grew up in and I found my original strategy guide with all the songs written down by hand. Simply one of the greatest games ever made.
It would be cool if he did another 100% playthrough of this cardrige
I'd watch that!
Bro I was into Zelda games whatchu talking about 🤨
😂😂😂
You still gotta finish the master quest series
🥺
Truuu it’s been so long
Yes
True
That’s not the only series he needs to finish
I still have this OG cartridge as well! So many memories with my older brother and sister that I’ll never forget. I’m turning 22 this Sunday, yet playing this game as a kid felt just like yesterday. It’s priceless how this game is truly an eternal time capsule for us all
This game holds a special place in my heart as well

Just hearing it rn terrifies me 😭
One of the greatest games of all time, OF ALL TIME
Ocarina of Time is so special to you and it’s your gameplay of this game that had me discover you and your TH-cam channel. Dude has it really been that long, I’ve got both early release cartridges with the blood/haunting music in their boxes. Such a timeless game.
That's a crazy cool setup man
Oot and mm were my first Zelda games this one holds my heart up every time I see gameplay of it.
Ocarina of Time was also my first Zelda game and what got me into the series. It is such a magical game, watching this brought back so many memories.
Definitely would absolutely love a full playthru series with this cartridge!
i still have nightmares about the redeads and im 32 years of age
My favorite Zelda game of all time! With twilight princess behind it and link to the past and wind waker etc
Magical doesn't even begin to cover it when it comes to the effect this game has on my spirit
This was one of my favorite classic Zelda games
I was late to Zelda, I played a link between worlds first and fell in love with the series after playing ocarina of time. I'm in my 40's now. 😂
This is so dope! I wish I had my OG WindWaker disc for GameCube as that was my first LoZ game!
Hollywood should really reach out to you for a part in the live action. They usually bring people of high knowledge to bring scenes together
Your video very passionate and wonderful
I cannot wait to continue watching your next tears of the kingdom video
Used to play this for countless hours as a child and still when I get a chance love this game
Would love to see you playthrough this again! I’m playing through ocarina again today to celebrate!!
Mine is the gold version, and I still have it. Wonderful memories.
This game is my childhood and i still have my cartridge of the Game.
I still have the cartridge, I remember preordering it, picking it up at a KB toy store and getting a t-shirt with it, maybe that was part of the preorder deal.
I still have that cartridge, and never will want to sell it. That is what I vowed for!

I still have it too. We moved around alot with a divorced mom and lost almost everything else.
My OG North American cartridge unfortunately but the dust, but a friend and I got a Japanese copy years ago that we physically modded to play on a NA N64 and it still works
I would watch an LP of this game on the og cartridge!!
6:06 I though Luke mentioned in his first Wind Waker HD playthrough (around the time of WWHD’s launch) that he discarded the cartridge in a garbage bag.
Nothing Beats A Classic, Happy 25th To The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This game was my first game I ever played and is the reason I love TLOZ and gaming period. Happy birthday to Ocarina of time 🥹
I still have my Nintendo 64 to this today and this is my First Zelda Game as Well
Man this game is just so good, by the way I’m surprised you still have those saves there it’s such a classic Zelda game
I had a friend tell me that this game was so nostalgic even though he's only played it once
Yes I would like to see a series like this
I remember when my super nintendo had a saving problem where if we took the cartridge out of the snes it would reset our files, so I would always get ip to the master sword before it was my brother’s turn and then cry about how my file would be deleted
at least i’m good at mastersword speedruns
Love you ZM you probably wont see this but you’ve genuinely changed my life and intrest thank you ❤
not Zelda related but I had such a nostalgic moment when I was going through boxes in my garage and a Gameboy color fell out of one of the boxes to only realize that it was my childhood Gameboy color and when I put batteries in it, it didn't turn on but after cleaning the battery terminals with isopropyl alcohol and then it was fine but unfortunately i do not have the pokemon blue cart I played on when I was younger
This was a great video ZM
On top. The producer who made the Zelda studio gible needs to happen. Miyazaki would approve. I know he would 😢😢
A live stream play through would be cool
I still have my OoT and Majoras mask n64 games AND boxes. Both are the gold special editions. I was lucky to get the gold OoT one back in the 90s. Ganondorf has red blood in that game instead of the green in other editions.
It’s cool that you know the actual words being chanted, I’d be interested in knowing what the words mean too if you do a full play through
It would be awesome to watch you do a play through of the original! I have my original copy too and it’s the same one with the original fire temple music
would LOVE a playthrough on this gem of a cart on the OG N64
Darn. I was hoping that he would see what Navi had to say on his file.
I remember playing this game as a kid and i fell in love. It was super difficult that i never passed it back then there was no TH-cam nothing! Thank you Shigeru Miyamoto for inventing zelda and thank you for my beautiful childhood!❤️ Now i own almost all zelda games and can't wait for what comes after Tears of the Kingdom!❤
i still have my same cartridge and its been my first game ever too. Once my dads and now mine.
Did the gold cardridge come out later then? That’s the one I had, with the updated version of the Fire Temple soundtrack.
Such a cozy game, despite the terrifying redeads!❤ I still have my gold cartridge, with the label half peeled off!
Yep, I too still have my N64 and Ocarina of time game as well. Love this game and all the old games.👍😁
Definitely would love to see an old school playthrough of OOT Luke please play it again
my first OOT Cartridge was golden
My favorite game of all time ❤
Memories 😔 😭😭
Yes , Ocarina of time was a magical game , probably one of the best game I played , I also have followed you in all the latest walkthrough of each Zelda game , but I never finished the latest '' tears of the kingdom'' because I think that this particular game after while got too repetitive . I would like to know what was your thoughts about the latest game over all . Thank you .
I would be up for the play through. I still have my original with the original shield and chants as well. Still play it on my original 64.
I still got my original gold cartridge from my day 1 purchase. I have the best memories from playing that game. TOTK is great but nothing like OOT.
Zeldamaster: The origins
I love this i got the gold looking one for Christmas that year :) i purchased a special adapter for my tv :) so i could play it
Orphan?....? Damn never knew 😢
When i hade that glith i would telaport somewhere and call her agian
Loved everything about this
With if the Great War in Oot was an adaptation of the war between the Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire?
I've played the 3ds ocarina of time like a year ago and it took me 20 days to finish the normal series, my favorite is ocarina of time, wind waker and twilight princess
Half-Life's 25th was pretty recent, too.
Wow started watching you when you made the ocarina of time 3ds remake videos
Twilight princess was my first Zelda game
Definitely should play through it
I have the og zelda i didnt know they change the song to it and the sheld it is cool
To be honest, I'd kill for a new Let's Play of the original N64 release of OoT to replace the one you made years ago.
Would be great if you could do a playthrough of this on original hardware
Do itttttt, 100% playthrough!
I think it'd be cool to watch you play your original copy of Ocarina of Time.
Hi!!! I have it too, And the N64 I love this game is my Fav...
beat the game on that cartrige
When I had the og cartridge, i was at the temple and my mom heard the bismallah and allahu akbar chants, and thought i was playing at satanic game bc of the chants and told me to turn it off. That was the last time I saw that cartridge until recently 😅
I would love for you to play this again!!!!!!
duuuuuude you gotta playthrough the O.G that would be so cool
The chanting always made me feel so uneasy
Got any bloopers? I feel like they would be funny ngl 😂
Bro became light skinned out of nowhere where lmao
