Excellent video for a reluctant shade tree mechanic like me ! My '11 CRV started running crappy on the way to work this morning so I did a 180 and limped home. Couldn't find my OBD reader so I limped over to AutoZone and they ran a scan. (MISFIRE ON CYLINDER #4) I bought a new coil and plug and installed them in less than 1 hr. from diagnosis to back to driving. Thanks TRQ ! If you guys were near me, you would get all my car repair business !
Hey bro thanks for this how to video my mom had just ordered some spark plugs and ignition coil from you guys .... Came in the mail yesterday are the spark plugs already preset.... And should I put dielectric grease on the ignition coil boot ?....... Keep making these how to videos Bro I sure appreciate it... You and Christfix makes the some best TH-cam how to video step by step.
Modern plugs with a silver coating already have what amounts to anti-seize and don't need it. Anti-seize would interfere with the torque spec. Denso plugs (KJ20DR-M11) come gapped to the Honda spec (0.4 to 0.44mm), though it's good to check.
No issues with plugs coming loose on these engines? My 09 Fit had the torque specs revised by Honda to 20ft/Ibs from 13! I guess these have a longer thread body.
So you need a specific tool to make sure you get the 13 ft pounds of pressure when installing the new plug?...like you can't just feel it out...i mean initially
Question which I need a quick answer on if possible. The connector to the coil appears to be stuck. How to I get it off without breaking the housing? I dont see any tabs to squeeze or anything. Please advise as soon as you can. Thank you

Thanks for providing the detailed instructions that are easy to hear and understand.
Don't forget dialectric grease on the plugs where they connect to the coil.

This helped. I was looking under the wrong cover for the spark plugs. Thanks!

What about anti seize on the spark plug threads? Also, what about checking the gap on the plugs to be sure they are correct?

Spark plug torque is 13 foot-pounds (17.5Nm). Does this also apply to the 2.0/110kw petrol engine (R20A2)? Thanks
Dumb question but why do you have to take the battery cable off first? I didn’t have to do that for my Camry so just cu
Good job.
About of the torque, one clip or two.?

How many spark plugs are there in total? What if no torque wrench?
Thank you. This helped my husband greatly.
Ignition coils must be tightened with sufficient force also (12 N-m).

Any idea what the length is for the 10mm bolts that secure the coils? I need to replace them!
Great video straight to the point
