Great video Janice. Australia just recently opened to Indonesian tourists so my wife & I are planning for a travel to Sydney, and your channel has been our #1 source of info. Will definitely visit Edition coffee shop. I love that you just calmly went with the flow even though 3 of your pre-planned destinations were closed. I must say that's a sign of a true pro content creator right there.

Happy New Year, thank you for the video Janice. We keep frequenting Kurtosh at Crows Nest, and we love the savoury pastries. The eggplant, capsicum, ricotta, all are amazing! I find the Kurtosh itself a bit too big, so we rarely take it, only when all of us are in mood to have sweet, but they are amazing!

I used to go to Darling Square all the time before my workplace went WFH, your video brought back a lot of good memories - Kasuka does a really good Nasi Goreng and their drinks are awesome
I’ll try that next time! They actually recommended that I try the Nasi goreng but I was too full for a main meal so I opted for the snacks
Try the souffle pancake at Edition (as well as other savoury and sweet treats too!). Toastie Smith also opened close to home in Macquarie.

Happy New Year Janice! Although I tend to avoid franchises that prawn toast really had me going, wow. The Indonesian looked interesting too, have you ever tried Martabak (savoury version)? One of the best street foods ever in my opinion. Tipat Cantok is another fantastic Indonesian street dish.
i havent tried Martabak before but have always been meaning to try. I havent come across them in Sydney yet but probably because Im not looking hard enough

I think you are right about Tastie Smith at Darling Square. I went there before and I don't remember that I saw it, must be new. I need to try the chimney cake next time i'm in town... looks delicious.

Toastiesmith is amazing! Wish had something similar in Brisbane. We got the prawn and egg one that you had and the beef one too, super juicy! Good recommend 👍

was intending on going to darling square for the first time to visit dopa donburi the other day, but things didnt pan out. good to see some extra options, that indonesian place sounds good.
I’ve only tried the beef don at dopa donburi, pls let me know it there’s anything in particular you’d recommend once you get a chance to go!

It always seems to catch me off guard when you are talking about how hot it is at this time of year... and here in Pennsylvania, USA... we are looking at single digit and subfreezing temps over the next week. Our woodstove is just ablaze with fire and heat and all the yumminess of having a woodstove. (I love our woodstove.) Anyhow, I'm only 2:18 into your video... I'll be back 🤗 You are just slammin' your latest videos. Your verbal descriptions of food have improved exponentially. You have learned how to take us through the flavor from beginning to end... so much further than "this is really, really good" kind of thing. Those things are important when you are taking people on a food adventure... you HAVE TO explain or describe ... salty, sweet, tart, savory, bitter.. all the things. That's what keeps us with you. You can be tasting the MOST gorgeous foods in the world, and sharing it with your audience, but without the BEST description... it's all for nothing. You're doing a slamming job of it Janice. I was planning a day trip to Sydney to visit a bunch of places in your videos but now Newcastle and the Hunter is getting bad with Covid again so it looks like I’m going to have to postpone it, I’m so sad. Don’t worry my sense of time is warped too, time seems to just all blended together.

Hey Janice have you tried coffee from bar Itali in leichardt would recommend. Also would recommend pastries from San Valentino in haberfield and pizza from la disfida also in haberfield.
