This Salmon bagel sandwich looks amazing. Blueberry cream cheese pie is one of my favorite desert. My mom used to do this when I was a kid so it hit a sensitive spot in my memories. I wish I could exchange some of your Australian heat for my freezing Canadian cold. It's been -20c for almost two weeks here 🥶

Sydney guy here and been living in New York for the past 5 years. Your channel brings me massive nostalgia for the rich food culture we have in Sydney. Please keep it up I miss all this good stuff!

@@pipilongstocking4382 Yes, and I stand by what I said. There's a vibrance in Sydney's food culture that just isn't there in New York.
I particularly miss our amazing cafe culture. Good luck getting a perfect flat white with scrambled eggs and toasted Turkish bread, with (good) table service, before 10am here.
Yes, there's good Asian food, but you have to drive out to Queens.
New York is amazing for either higher priced restaurants or lower priced but successful chains (like Sweet Greens etc).
Sydney fills that middle section, which is amazing food at an accessible price.
Love Mensch bagels. Reminds me of NYC. Just give me a plain bagel toasted with butter. Delish!

Hey Janice, you have to try Lavie & Belle Bakery in Surry Hills. My french colleagues swear by this bakery. It started with a small space in a back street, and now it's moved to a bigger store in Bourke St. Most of the french living in Sydney get their pastries from this place.

Probably one of my fav cafes in Surry Hills is Cafe Kentaro, it is a blended fusion of Australian-Japanese

The salmon bagel looks way better than NY itself! That surprising the pies cost more than 10 bucks but absolutely worth it🤤

Paramount Coffee Project would be one of my go-to cafes in Surry Hills (sometimes they have Shortstop donuts at the counter).

You should check out Auvers Cafe in Darling Square, I love their Mushroom Risotto

Lode pies is yum but everything is usually sold out you can't usually choose what to get. Grumpy Baker is also pretty decent

I have to say the pies are fantastic in Australia both in Perth and in Sydney always filled to the top. Unlike the pies here in UK with lots of space in them , ( look out for lots of comments from UK, I do live in UK this is my experience having been to Perth many times to visit friends and also visited Sydney so I do know what I'm talking about no doubt I'll be criticism but do I care no I bloody don't ) as always interesting and fun video

Precariously... that's the word you were looking for... and would have been 100% accurate. Janice... seriously?? You silly girl!!! If that fell and took your equipment with it... this would have been a VERY expensive video, right? It blows my mind that you are talking about how hot it is today for you and we started with -6 degrees this morning here in Pennsylvania, US . Mind boggling. I'm sitting here with my fuzzy slippers, a long sleeved shirt, and a hoodie over that... and I'm still cold. It's been kind of brutal here for the past few weeks...which is not really common. Usually our cold snaps (at least here) don't last quite as long as they have been. Our boiler/furnace is running A LOT, AND we are burning a woodstove as well. It's just that cold. Seeing you sweat made me jealous!!! :) Great video Janice!!! Your sister is adorable... I know, I've said that before... but it's true!

That is too tempting - Don't do this again - now I will go looking as I am living in Pyrmont = just a simple walk. I have already looked it up but if I walk then I can eat = the walk can now be rewarded. Sydney Food Boy does this to me too but he focuses on South West Sydney. Too good video
