Liked your analysis of a M2 Pro vs. an M4 base on a mini. Thanks Craig. Waiting for an M4 Max MacStudio or 32" iMac M4 Max. I need faster build turnaround, so faster is better.
I’m waiting on the mini. Will of course max out whatever I want🎉 but also get the studio monitor as well. My theory of why I want to go this route is that if I want to upgrade the mini to a Studio keep the monitor I can. Or visa versa and go with the top monitor… then go to the Studio. The goal is to work up slowly one device at a time and have my primo rig by rolling devices for trade in value ❤
That is a good plan and a smart one. I know it's a better plan then buying a iMac but I still want an affordable 27+ inch iMac and I would be a buyer even though buying both separately is better. I did a video though on how to use a 24" iMac as a monitor for another Mac so it's possible to do that.
A17 and A16 for iPad mini and 11th gen iPad are great but I think the more important question is how much ram Apple will put on them ? A15,14 in the current mini 6 and 10th gen are already plenty fast but 4GB of ram will hold them back down the road with the future iPad OS updates
Actually the basic iPad is the 2nd most popular tablet Apple sells, making up 26% of sales vs Pros 44%. Besides retail, they sell it in bulk to education which is a good strategy to flood the industry so young students' first taste of computing is through iPad... which Apple hopes will translate to future sales in iPhones, iPads, Macs etc. when they grow up.
New mac base model 12GB Apple had the courage to provide enough RAM for any professional LOL I'll stay on my Hackintosh until Apple releases a real professional PC that's repairable/upgradable.
@@GoldenNada actually that's not the case for now Sequoia supports x86 but i'll continue to be brave while waiting to see when Apple cuts off intel Macs.
For the 11th generation iPad, Apple could put the A16 in there but Apple Intelligence seems to require at least 8 GB of RAM and runs on the M1 chips which have the same Neural Engine as the A14 Bionic processor, though they do have more CPU and GPU cores. Nonetheless, Apple might be able to pull off Apple Intelligence with an A16 Bionic and 8 GB of RAM and because it's the cheapest iPad they probably won't care if Apple Intelligence runs a bit slow on the device.
@@craigneidel Personally I am waiting for the new iPad mini. I'm currently using an iPad seventh generation, and it shows his age when you're doing any sort of multitasking thanks to it only having 3 GB of ram and the A10 Fusion processor, yes, the one from the iPhone 7 which was dropped from support when iOS 16 came out. It is still supported on iPadOS 18 though.
Having had two problematic iMacs (of three owned), no more of them for me. But that new Mini looks like my next Mac. First, with an old Asus monitor I have, then with some reasonably price 4K. So looking forward to it. $499 would be fantastic, though I'm sure it won't start out at that price.
I got earlier on this year a Mac mini with 32gb of ram plugged into a Samsung 32” screen. There’s no reason to upgrade for the next few years, Apple is losing ground in revenues. People are not upgrading year after year anymore for all their product line. If you wait until next spring, the new Mac mini M4 will go in sale.
Pumpkins are out 🎃 Scary event! I still wanted a M3 Max but let’s see how this goes on the M4. Regardless, my aim is probably still getting the Air M4 with hopefully..base..16gb of ram! 😄

Hey Craig. Funny, I still have the 14” M1Pro Macbook which still only has 3 charges on the battery. Guess I better hurry up and use it before it becomes deprecated.
No reason to upgrade from an M2 to M4 no matter what Mac you own. The M2 is just so awesome and can throw everything at it with the right amount of RAM. Apple needs to change their business model. People are no longer upgrading every year. There’s no line up anymore for new products. They need to fire the CEO they are losing the war in technology advances except their CPU. They are sinking as a company and I sold most of my stock last year. You should do the same if you made a profit. They so need to catchup in all aspects, AI, screen technology, hardware and more. They only lead in Apps for iOS, and CPU tech but not entirely. They trail behind in all other aspects. I switched from an iPhone to a Samsung folding screen phone and Android OneUI and never going back.
I love my M2. With my channel thought I might upgrade but for most that would not be needed unless you are short on Ram. I not too worried about Apple being a failing company. I think 70% of people in the US have an iPhone so it's will be a while.
I’m surprised they’ll be coming out with a M4 iMac assuming it’s the 24” one. I feel in terms of sales, the iMacs don’t do well although the demand for other Mac products are a lot higher, like the Mac mini, studio, MacBooks and more. I always saw the iMacs are skipping a few generation for it to be worth it. Now, APPLE could very well throw a curve ball on that new M4 iMac. Could come with OLED or something like that. That M4 Pro would be a GREAT CURVEBALL! We need that! I would love that for an iMac. I am ok with Mac Studio but man, this would be awesome!
I think they will come out with one this generation and skip the M5 but who knows at this point. These are just rumors and we will see. I'm still hoping for the 30 or 32 inch one day too but the question would be .. would it be too expensive anyway? Thanks again for your comment and for watching the channel.
