This was tbh subtly biased towards Apple. Android's app support is genuinely better than iPadOS simply due to the fact that you can sideload any app you want, regardless of whether its on the store or not. And DeX is a far bigger deal than you gave it credit for.
Samsung needs to break the support barrier of professional video and image editing apps and others. For this, it must leave the smartphone CPUs and go to PC CPUs, such as the Snapdragon X elite, just as Apple uses the M4 CPUs on tablets. S10 ultra with Snapdragon X Elite X1E-84-100
I'm currently on an iPad, even though the rest is Android and Windows, I would still prefer the Samsung tab because of the pencil features such as quick translation, I tend to appreciate Android ecosystem and Samsung's work over it a bit more. The iPad is great, but it depends what usage to plan to do with it since both of them offer a great experience
if you have iphone and do care about apple ecosystem then go for ipad, but if you're just media consumption or android user, then Tab S10 is Best choice out there
I would say, the benefit of having Android does not bring the S10 high enough to outweigh the superiority of the iPad even if you do have an Android. If you're a frequent tablet user in 2024, the best thing to do is get the iPad then for your next phone upgrade, get an iPhone.
The ipad is like an american muscle car...lots of HP ... every year another extra 100 HP.... too bad it can drive curves due to the traction .... my point is , you can do more with the less powerfull s10
I ended up with the S10 ultra. I mostly use a tablet to watch TH-cam videos and web browsing so the extra computational power wouldn’t be very important for me. The aspect ratio and price ended up being the most important factor.
@@lime-animates-2763 The Ultra fits perfectly under my desktop monitor where it'll be most of the time. I took 2 pieces of printer paper and made a mockup of the tablet's size and felt it was fine before buying it. The S10 Plus would leave a bigger gap between my monitor and the tablet which I didn't want. I do think sometimes it's too big when moving the tablet. What I wish was better was the slim keyboard case (the one without the trackpad). It's a bit floppy and wish it was more stiff and if it was more stiff it'd be easier to move the tablet around with 1 hand.
I just got an M4 iPad Pro 1 TB 13” and the screen is a hair bigger but the aspect ration makes everything smaller than my old 2nd gen iPad Pro 13”. You get a bigger screen but everything you see is smaller. What a sucker I am. 😢 Battery doesn’t last long on the iPad or Apple Pencil. And I have the same problem on my new M4 $2000 iPad Pro that I had on my 2nd gen iPad Pro, that after watching multiple videos on Instagram, the vids. start to freeze up and I have to turn off iPad and restart to get them to play correctly. Only happens on Instagram.
We have come really far with our technology. From Moses' tablet that can only display 5 sentences per tablet to the Galaxy Tab Ultras and iPad Pros doing split screens, pop-up views and connecting to external displays. What an evolution.
So basically: these are both awesome tablets. Apple users will buy the iPad, Android users will buy the Galaxy Tab and because both products are so good, neither will convince many people to switch ecosystem.
Samsung users perceive snapdragon chipsets to be the Holy Grail and as such I don't think this product will sell as well as previous years, remember when Samsung changed exynos for snapdragon it didn't end well.

Thanks for another great comparison. This would be a tough call for me. I use my tablet primarily for content consumption, so the Tab 10 would get the nod because of its form factor, but I live in the Apple ecosystem, so the iPad would integrate seamlessly. Realistically though, both of these are overkill for my use case.
I would add that the S10 (or iPad Pro if you pay for it) anti-reflective screen looks worse inside than without it (S9). Less contrast, worse colors, usual things coming from the (slightly) matte screen.
The crop is killing it for me, it’s why I don’t buy iPads, but overall usage is way better on it, while the s10 ultra 16:10 makes odd sense in portrait, it’s super tall and odd feeling to hold upright
The S10, is a better deal and way better for watching most media. I own an M2 pro and an S7 Plus. I use my ipad for work and the samsung for play. Thanks for the video, appreciate your time and opinions
Samsung just removed themselves out of the competition by „downgrading“ to MediaTek instead of upgrading in processing power. The M4 chips are obviously overpowered but what I find lacking in all Android tablets I owned is the underpowered smartphone SoCs making them basically phones with big screens
great comparison. i will still go for the tab s10 ultra for these simple reasons: ip68 gives me peace of ming, better aspect ratio for consuming content and expandable storage with sd card will you review the redmagic nova too?
Samsung played it safe with this one. Except for the anti-reflective coating (which is nice because the iPad was much better here in the past) there’s nothing remarkable. The chip is decent/good but nothing compared with the M4 of the iPad Pro. They should have gone with the one the new X chips.
Samsung has already sold out their fab capacity for their X chips. That is why I am holding out for the Tab 11. By then, there will be a full year of optimization for full windows applications on the X chips.

I don’t know why people complain about the 4:3 Aspect Ratio it’s a beautiful square more real estate up and down and we literally grew up warching content on 4:3 TVs never complaining about not being able to see things on the sides like most of the focus and things that you need to see are gonna be within the 4:3 aspect ratio and you won’t get such a long device
Have my 13inch ipad pro… and i’m yet to find something on it thats a deal breaker for me …social media consumption, photo editing…video editing…games, studio recording etc…
The m4 is more powerful for sure but samsung has better app support, bigger display and most of all it has Samsung dex. It practically lets you use the tab as a laptop. It's amazing and shouldn't be slept on. The only limitations are windows specific apps.
Honestly I think the sweet spot when it comes to aspect ratio is 3:2, it is in between 16:10 and 4:3 but it has the best performance/compromise ratio. A wider display surface for using it as a notebook/drawing board, but not too wide that it will have really large black bars when watching a movie.
lately, Apple has been ticking me off. The latest debacle has to do with the inability to upgrade iPad OS to version 18 for the M4 versions. OK, ordinarily not a big deal, but it points to a deeper problem at Apple - its quality control is going off the rails. Add to that, the fact that the M4 really doesn’t do much more than the M2 - or even the 2018 models, for that matter. It’s becoming easy to see that Apple’s “tech has peaked”, and all Apple is offering from year to year is “more chrome”; and “longer, lower, wider” - like the marketing gimmicks of the US auto manufacturers during the ‘60s and ‘70s. At this price point of the M4, the latest iPad is arguably a “flop.” And I’ve been a “fanboy” since the earliest release around 2011 or so. Admittedly, the only thing Apple has to keep me is their ecosystem. But frankly and at this rate of less-than-stellar-performance, it’s not a matter of if - but when - I’ll make a “jailbreak” from Apple, and head over “…to the dark side.”
If samsung stuck with the snapdragon chip then the benchmarks would have been a win for the samsung tab. The Ipad is obviously way better since its also nearly 1k more expensive. As a samsung user i am sadened by the fact that samsung does not just go for the more expensive options why settle for a cheaper chipset they could make a way better tablet than the M4 for the same price as the M4 tab
bro, to be honest, I have a 13 inch iPad Pro M4. It is a little big, but if you are going with Samsung S-10 tablet, it's just way too big like you can't even play games on it bro. This is not actually biased over Apple. It is in all Samsung tablet that the display is big, and they are just supporting it over a laptop

No company would ever compete against themselves by making iPads have macOS; it is a really stupid business, as Apple is a small player in the laptop market, 8% share and losing Macbook users to an iPad may make that division unprofitable. Anyway, Apple has already confirmed that this will never happen.

That performance comparison is insane. I mean the M4 beats intel best cpu in single core performance, apple is a product company not a chip maker and yet makes the best chip performance per efficiency. Apple devices are so smooth and fast. If you want the best multitasking device get a apple silicon laptop.
Honestly aslong as it doesnt lag while doing task i cant be bothered to choose one over the other. The only reason i would go with the tab is for size. I feel like tablets are so strong they will do anything i need without any stress.
The reality is that people aren’t doing complex VFX on a tablet that requires an M series chip. I think it’s marketing. I have the galaxy tab A9+ and the snapdragon 695 has AI acceleration and can do local stable diffusion with SDAI. Although it’s way worse obviously it isn’t incapable. The swipe gestures make iPads unenjoyable to use as a tablet IMO and are better used as a laptop with the swipe gestures on the Magic Keyboard trackpad. Androids navigation buttons make Samsung’s tablets better to actually use as a tablet in my humble opinion
An interesting comparison that I've never seen would be a comparison of legacy tech like the Galaxy Tab S7 and the fourth-generation iPad Pro. I'd be curious to see if the iPad has more legs, as I would suspect, or if the experiences on both tabs are roughly comparable.

I also have a Mac Studio setup, Windows laptops and MacBooks, tablets and phones that are Android and iOS. I use both ecosystems every day. Hope that helps add perspective. Love the ultra form factor but had to go with iPad for the ecosystem sidecar as I often use my laptop and ipad as a second screen and Android and MacOs dont speak well together. So iPad for me.
When I tried to use keyboard shortcuts I'm used to in my friends Samsung Tab S9. They don't seem to work compared to iPadOS keyboard shortcuts that can change per app. For me it will go iPad for work and Samsung for entertainment and gaming.
Personally, I can't give up Android, so I would take the Tab S10, but i do wish the software on the Galaxy was more polished, and a better chip could've been appreciated. Either way, i believe iPads and Galaxy Tabs are apples and oranges.
Easy solution, Android > IOS, freedom to do what you want, not locked into a restrictive ecosystem and most important thing is, it isn't Apple. Glad I made the switch from Ipad Pro to Ultra tablet.

Almost certainly does have 240hz PWM because it's the same screen, and S8/S9 series used 120/240hz PWM, the worst being S9+ with 120hz. But it's the same for iPad Pro 13, 240hz PWM.
I currently have the iPad pro but I've been thinking of changing to Samsung tablet, I only use tablet for watching streaming service and shopping online. Should I change to Samsung tablet now or wait for next year? Price is no issue for me. I don't like apple so I've been waiting to see when I should change to Samsung
Android can be as good as it wants, it’s simply slower. It sticks phone SoCs in big tablet without cooling them down properly, while Apple seats dedicated tablet SoCs with metal integrated heat spreader. The gap in computational capability is insane. The M4 absolutely destroys the D9300+ and 8 Gen 3 😂

If you have the S9 ultra skip this gen’s version for another year to three years then you should upgrade. I’m heavy on tech so I truly get into the pros and cons etc etc miner to extreme differences so tbh just hold what you have.
The galaxy tab s10 plus and s10 ultra have 7 years of updates and security. But they didn't have to downgrade the techs with that crap chip of Density 9300+. The snapdragon chips are more powerful. Plus, they worry about the wrong things. We need pro apps Samsung, like goodnotes, procreate, affinite, the full version of photoshop, etc. They also got rid of the s10 model. I have the galaxy tab s8 ultra that I bought on may 2023, it's my best purchase. I will trade it in with the galaxy tab s13 ultra or s14 ultra. By the time, I hope it will have the snapdragon X Elite 4 or 5 or a chip more powerful than snapdragon. The galaxy tab s10 ultra should have the snapdragon X Elite chip or snapdragon 8 gen 4. Why would people buy the new s10 models, so expensive, if they used a poor chip. If I buy a tab I want it to have a powerful chip that matches the price. Samsung failed this year!☹️

The crop is killing it for me, it’s why I don’t buy iPads, but overall usage is way better on it, while the s10 ultra 16:10 makes odd sense in portrait, it’s super tall and odd feeling to hold upright

The S10, is a better deal and way better for watching most media. I own an M2 pro and an S7 Plus. I use my ipad for work and the samsung for play.

Samsung just removed themselves out of the competition by „downgrading“ to MediaTek instead of upgrading in processing power. The M4 chips are obviously overpowered but what I find lacking in all Android tablets I owned is the underpowered smartphone SoCs making them basically phones with big screens

Samsung played it safe with this one. Except for the anti-reflective coating (which is nice because the iPad was much better here in the past) there’s nothing remarkable. The chip is decent/good but nothing compared with the M4 of the iPad Pro. They should have gone with the one the new X chips.
Samsung has already sold out their fab capacity for their X chips. That is why I am holding out for the Tab 11. By then, there will be a full year of optimization for full windows applications on the X chips.

Thought to change this year for the silver but my concern is thatwith the keyboard attached due to the silver color the frame would be too noticeable. How it is in real life?
I don’t know why people complain about the 4:3 Aspect Ratio it’s a beautiful square more real estate up and down and we literally grew up warching content on 4:3 TVs never complaining about not being able to see things on the sides like most of the focus and things that you need to see are gonna be within the 4:3 aspect ratio and you won’t get such a long device

Have my 13inch ipad pro… and i’m yet to find something on it thats a deal breaker for me …social media consumption, photo editing…video editing…games, studio recording etc…
Both of them is very good. It depends on what you doing with it....
The m4 is more powerful for sure but samsung has better app support, bigger display and most of all it has Samsung dex. It practically lets you use the tab as a laptop. It's amazing and shouldn't be slept on. The only limitations are windows specific apps.

Honestly I think the sweet spot when it comes to aspect ratio is 3:2, it is in between 16:10 and 4:3 but it has the best performance/compromise ratio.
A wider display surface for using it as a notebook/drawing board, but not too wide that it will have really large black bars when watching a movie.
lately, Apple has been ticking me off. The latest debacle has to do with the inability to upgrade iPad OS to version 18 for the M4 versions.
OK, ordinarily not a big deal, but it points to a deeper problem at Apple - its quality control is going off the rails. Add to that, the fact that the M4 really doesn’t do much more than the M2 - or even the 2018 models, for that matter.
It’s becoming easy to see that Apple’s “tech has peaked”, and all Apple is offering from year to year is “more chrome”; and “longer, lower, wider” - like the marketing gimmicks of the US auto manufacturers during the ‘60s and ‘70s.
At this price point of the M4, the latest iPad is arguably a “flop.” And I’ve been a “fanboy” since the earliest release around 2011 or so.
Admittedly, the only thing Apple has to keep me is their ecosystem. But frankly and at this rate of less-than-stellar-performance, it’s not a matter of if - but when - I’ll make a “jailbreak” from Apple, and head over “…to the dark side.”

If samsung stuck with the snapdragon chip then the benchmarks would have been a win for the samsung tab. The Ipad is obviously way better since its also nearly 1k more expensive. As a samsung user i am sadened by the fact that samsung does not just go for the more expensive options why settle for a cheaper chipset they could make a way better tablet than the M4 for the same price as the M4 tab
bro, to be honest, I have a 13 inch iPad Pro M4. It is a little big, but if you are going with Samsung S-10 tablet, it's just way too big like you can't even play games on it bro. This is not actually biased over Apple. It is in all Samsung tablet that the display is big, and they are just supporting it over a laptop
Then get the smaller one.. plus but I love my huge screen. And I don't give a damn about games.

No company would ever compete against themselves by making iPads have macOS; it is a really stupid business, as Apple is a small player in the laptop market, 8% share and losing Macbook users to an iPad may make that division unprofitable. Anyway, Apple has already confirmed that this will never happen.

That performance comparison is insane. I mean the M4 beats intel best cpu in single core performance, apple is a product company not a chip maker and yet makes the best chip performance per efficiency. Apple devices are so smooth and fast. If you want the best multitasking device get a apple silicon laptop.
Honestly aslong as it doesnt lag while doing task i cant be bothered to choose one over the other. The only reason i would go with the tab is for size. I feel like tablets are so strong they will do anything i need without any stress.
The reality is that people aren’t doing complex VFX on a tablet that requires an M series chip. I think it’s marketing. I have the galaxy tab A9+ and the snapdragon 695 has AI acceleration and can do local stable diffusion with SDAI. Although it’s way worse obviously it isn’t incapable. The swipe gestures make iPads unenjoyable to use as a tablet IMO and are better used as a laptop with the swipe gestures on the Magic Keyboard trackpad. Androids navigation buttons make Samsung’s tablets better to actually use as a tablet in my humble opinion
An interesting comparison that I've never seen would be a comparison of legacy tech like the Galaxy Tab S7 and the fourth-generation iPad Pro. I'd be curious to see if the iPad has more legs, as I would suspect, or if the experiences on both tabs are roughly comparable.

I also have a Mac Studio setup, Windows laptops and MacBooks, tablets and phones that are Android and iOS. I use both ecosystems every day. Hope that helps add perspective. Love the ultra form factor but had to go with iPad for the ecosystem sidecar as I often use my laptop and ipad as a second screen and Android and MacOs dont speak well together. So iPad for me.

When I tried to use keyboard shortcuts I'm used to in my friends Samsung Tab S9. They don't seem to work compared to iPadOS keyboard shortcuts that can change per app. For me it will go iPad for work and Samsung for entertainment and gaming.
Personally, I can't give up Android, so I would take the Tab S10, but i do wish the software on the Galaxy was more polished, and a better chip could've been appreciated. Either way, i believe iPads and Galaxy Tabs are apples and oranges.
Easy solution, Android > IOS, freedom to do what you want, not locked into a restrictive ecosystem and most important thing is, it isn't Apple. Glad I made the switch from Ipad Pro to Ultra tablet.

Almost certainly does have 240hz PWM because it's the same screen, and S8/S9 series used 120/240hz PWM, the worst being S9+ with 120hz. But it's the same for iPad Pro 13, 240hz PWM.

I have the iPad Pro 12 and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra....the ultra wins by a whole mile! Period....!
Android can be as good as it wants, it’s simply slower. It sticks phone SoCs in big tablet without cooling them down properly, while Apple seats dedicated tablet SoCs with metal integrated heat spreader. The gap in computational capability is insane. The M4 absolutely destroys the D9300+ and 8 Gen 3 😂

The galaxy tab s10 plus and s10 ultra have 7 years of updates and security. But they didn't have to downgrade the techs with that crap chip of Density 9300+. The snapdragon chips are more powerful. Plus, they worry about the wrong things. We need pro apps Samsung, like goodnotes, procreate, affinite, the full version of photoshop, etc. They also got rid of the s10 model. I have the galaxy tab s8 ultra that I bought on may 2023, it's my best purchase. I will trade it in with the galaxy tab s13 ultra or s14 ultra. By the time, I hope it will have the snapdragon X Elite 4 or 5 or a chip more powerful than snapdragon. The galaxy tab s10 ultra should have the snapdragon X Elite chip or snapdragon 8 gen 4. Why would people buy the new s10 models, so expensive, if they used a poor chip. If I buy a tab I want it to have a powerful chip that matches the price. Samsung failed this year!☹️
