You are the most helpful person alive. I can't even thank you enough for these tutorials! They are so well done and the templates are great. I feel like I should be paying you. Ha.
Something to note: opposed to going into the preferences to change the "Scale Strokes & Effects" setting, you can instead double-click the Scale tool in the Tool Menu to bring up scaling properties and check/uncheck the same setting. Another alternative is opening/expanding the Transform window and checking/unchecking the setting there as well.
I HAD to donate! These tutorials are just the BEST! I come from a Corel Draw Background and I needed to bite the bullet and learn AI. Thank you SOOO MUCH!
Most Professional series of tutorials for adobe illustrator. David, You nailed it man !! Thanks a lot. Your course is the best one than any offering on other sites.
Thank you so much for making these videos... I can't express how grateful I am... It helps me so much... It really makes me an expert and in the beginning I have no knowledge about Illustrator... Thanks again..
06:15 - For anyone with a German (or other) keyboard layout who CANNOT use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + ;" to show/hide guides (because you have to press shift first to even use ";", meaning you'd have to press "Ctrl + Shift + ;"), do this: Go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts Instead of "Tools" select "Menu Commands" Go to View > Guides > Hide Guides. Click into the row where it says "Ctrl + ;". I changed this shortcut to "Ctrl + ,". You can now use "Ctrl + ," to show/hide guides.
Thanks so much! Currently taking a computer graphics course but the teacher doesn't seem to know all that much about computer graphics (he's the only art teacher, so I'm guessing he's more into painting and more traditional art). He usually doesn't know the answer to most of my questions...so this is amazing! Currently making my way through this entire playlist on my day off so I can go back to class and not struggle so much :)
I started using Illustrator recently, and I noticed that scrolling while holding down alt is easier than switching tools. Also, you can hold down ctrl and shift to scroll sideways or scroll very fast.
Excellent explanation, thank you. When you select all the objects you must drag them as a group by selecting one of the objects. If you select them all, and then click on the white area of the group, it won't work. It took me a while haha. So select the whole group, then click or grab one square ( object) and click and you will move the whole thing. Very good. Adobe should be paying you!!!!!
Hello Gareth, I just started last week with the Adobe CC programs. Before I did my graphic works in MS-Office (PowerPoint, Publisher) It is a pure joy watching your video's (about Ai) en joyning in with the downloaded documents. You have done a fantastic job with you video's, comments en online material. Thank you so much.I can't wait to watch the other video's. After this it is Ps. Thanks again and all the best from Holland.
Not sure if you had trouble removing the *Guides* but you can easely do this by selecting the Guides > right click > release > select the guides again and press delete on your keyboard to remove them interely
For beginners, if The Vertical Distribute Centre puts all the vectors on a single place, then you must have to click the drop-down to the left of the Alignment panel and choose ALIGN TO SELECTION. This dropdown will be right next to Horizontal Align Left which is right next to Horizontal Align Centre.
As someone who cant stand slow things on computers. Using ctrl + scroll to move around, also alt + scroll makes things SO much faster when moving the viewable surface.
i can't drag the zoom just like u did in minute 1:57.. i already tried many ways to do it.. such as ctrl+space & drag.. it's still not working.. can u help me.. how to to do that??
First of all, thank you very much for your great work. I didn't understand how could you make a round shape when "Rounded Rectangle Tool" was selected at 08:10. Could you explain that? Have a nice day ;)

Yeah, this is really helpful, applies the same in photoshop.
I personally find ctrl+alt+scrolling (on Windows) a lot easier and faster to zoom in and out.
Ty!
I use Shift-alt-scrolling :)
Thanks! Just learned something new.
Same here!! That's the easiest and fastest way :)

1:56 - How do you zoom like that? When I try it my zoom tool selects the object and does not zoom in.

Love the Info and well presented!

Got it! Go to preferences, choose GPU Performance and unclick the dynamic zoom box (or Animated Zoom). That will work!
@@katarzynasworek5583 thank you♥
What do you mean with ''push up the stroke on em both'' 8:44? I do not understand what happens there. By the way thank you so much. You are a hero.
He made the stroke weight of both the circle bigger, thus making them look thicker
Donated! It's true greatness to give this away for free.
Mate, Impressive tutorial. thank you
