I have owned my BMW S1000R for 4 years exactly now and just shy of 10,000 miles.
Here are some of my thoughts on if I still love it like I did back then...

I have had a late 17 since new (bought it Jan 18), now has 55000km on it. It has been a superb bike - other than two water pumps (replaced under warranty, even when just out of warranty), needed the cam chain tensioner thing replaced for the longer one, and carbon build up around the injectors (happened when I started doing slow commuter km on it after about 40000km), been great and not expensive to run. I ride the new bright shiny things but the improvement of a brand new s1000r or SF V4S is minimal. Great bikes
Just bought secondhand dealer bike from 2017 with the full works, and it’s fun. More than enough power and comfortable. I’ll keep the std exhaust because it’s good enough for me and I don’t have show-off my bike….

Hahahaha ... I knooooow sorry mate 🙈 everything has just been mad at the moment plus as I dont need my bike to commute its just for fun, not being able to travel anywhere etc didnt help lol.

@@buster332 Oh mate I feel for you man.. when I ordered my S1000R this model wasnt out yet, ordered in 2nd week in December and wasn't coming out till March so had 3 months of pulling my hair out 🤣

@@BulldogBadger Sounds brilliant! I used to test / review the BMW range for my local BMW Motorrad dealer as when I went to get my S1KR the manager recognised my yamaha and was already a subscriber 😂 There are some videos on my channel. That dealer closed down now tho so have to go to Wolverhampton as my closest dealer 😟 The R1200GS was actually an awesome bike I thought. The handling really surprised the hell out of me too for the aize and weight of it. Can definitely see why people like to tour on it.
Bet that was absolutely superb though doing it on the Welsh roads too!! 👌🏻 Well jealous haha
What you think of the new 2021 headlight? I’m really liking it and the all round differences, albeit not hugely different.
Hey!! Yeah I love it mate, love the headlight, the the chassis / swingarm, love that dash!! With the little tweaks they have done its supposed to be even more of a beast. Whether you would notice some of them on the road I dont know. But overall id defo go for one haha.

Just bought a 2017 S1000R and experience a stuttering at constant speed/rpm. Do you experience it yourself? At full throttle it is just fine
Hi Peter... No sorry I do not experience any of this. It is completely fine whatever speed or amount of throttle being used. If it keeps up id maybe Google it to see if anyone has had the issue in a forum. Otherwise ask advise from your local BMW Motorrad 👍🏻

Yeah definitely in my opinion, thats the reason I got it 👍🏻
So I've looked at the 2017 model and a couple 2014 models. Is it worth spending the little extra for the gen 2 ? I test ride the gen 3 but the insurance was a deal breaker
In my personal opinion it is yeah for sure... lots of improvements, some big, some small and some you may not notice unless going from one bike to the other. But if you got the extra cash and insurance isnt too much different then id definitely get the gen 2 ✌🏼

May I ask how do you find the wind protection of the Z-Tecknik screen?
It is very good!! I like this sports screen version as I think it looks good with the bike, and does help to deflect wind. The 'fins' make it go more over your shoulders rather than hitting you in the face haha.
You can get a touring version that is the same shape and style but its taller. That will help a lot more with the wind too 👍🏻👍🏻

I love S1000R odd eye than S1000RR. Sucks the new one have only one headlight.
Yeah I love the 'iconic look' of the S1000R with these twin lights. Makes the bike look like its got CrAzY eyes haha 🤪👍🏻👍🏻
