- First look at the new 2017 BMW S1000R Sport. Please accept my apologies for the crackles in the mic occasionally it has been damaged, but a new one will be bought before my next video!!

I collected my S1000R about the same time you collected yours. 2000+km later absolutely loving it, and it is making me a much more capable rider. I test rode most of the bikes you rode as well as Z900, XSR900 and Street Triple / not a bad bike amongst them but none, for me, came close to the s1kr. Happy days.

it's now 2022 and my question is if you had a choice between the 2022 bmw s1000r and the 2022 suzuki hayabusa; which one would you chose and why? Right now, I'm having internal battles about which one I will buy. Keep in mind I'm 6'3" at around 235lbs...
I've ordered mine in same colours bro. Mine is from BMW Wolverhampton. Was trying to work out where you were cause I'm a local. Saw the JLR roadsign lol. Can't wait to get mine seems a long long time of good weather waiting till 2nd week of June till I get mine 🤤

I’m looking at S1000r myself right now but can’t decide on a 2016 or 2017. I can get a really good deal on the 16 but I think the 17 has more rider aids. 🤔 Enjoyed your video, stay safe.
Brad C Thanks dude! Yes I absolutely LOVE my S1000R it's so much fun! As you said if you could afford to get a 2017 model then do it cus aswell as extra rider aids the chassis is slightly better the engine has been tweaked, more power and more bhp (but nothing to really go on about lol) and of course you have the auto blipper / pit controll / launch controll off the RR aswell as the quick shifter which you will have on 2016 model too. But if you can't quite afford that extra bit and got the 2016 model then you wouldn't really notice any difference anyway. You will love it which ever s1kr you get on 😀 . You stay safe too mate 👍👍🏍💨

E.S. Slc Cool you will LOVE it!! The forged wheels were about a £1200 extra or something. Definitely haven't got them just the standard wheels on this one 💪🏍💨

jameswyattt1 _ Haha yeah probably. No haven't removed the baffle, not sure if there is a removable baffle I need to check.... oh belive me it's anything but quiet!! Especially when ur going along, only touching 6k revs too when I rev so not even half way through the rev range yet 😜
Lovely bike mate. It's great new bike day. Got my new bike on Monday Ninja 650 2017. Great for commuting duties. Hate the running in bit though, done 134 miles so far.
Looking at the BMW, Kawasaki z1000sx or Suzuki GSX S1000f for my next bike in a few years.
Lovely roads down your way. Should head up my way some great roads in the trough of bowland.

Awesome that you have another one on order tho! It does take a but more pressure off ur chest and chin, nothing dramatic but it does help a bit. I've got the Ztechnik Vstream sports screen.

James w Mallory Nothing on the tank has been painted or replaced all completely stock. The only thing I have added is a tank pad to stop scratches 🤙

alan donaldson I got mine from eBay it's a Ztechnik V stream or something: Look at this on eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152467018609 but the bolts are exact the same so any 2015 - 2016 screen will fit 💪

Hey thanks for watching!! Depends what you want really?... Ducati will be more of an aggressive position being a sports bike so depends what style of riding your going to do. Saying that out of all the 1000cc super naked bikes I test before buying mine the S1000R was the most bent over as the whole bike even the footpeg positions are exactly the same as the S1000RR just the handlebars are slightly higher. I chose this because you still have that sports bike power and feel but slightly more forgiving on your back. Ducati are more of an aggressive position even compared to other sports bikes too from my experience. Decisions, decisions lol hope you make the right one!
@@ChrisMotorLife i want the 959 because 90% of the riding we do is canyon carving. (nice 60 mile loop we have) but there are some days that I just want to take a little road-day trip. right now i have a monster 1100evo and have raced my K6 600 and 600RR on track. A friend used to ride the 1000R, it was ugly dull blue, but pretty damn fast.
@@iannamico Cool... well you will more than be able to throw the S1000R round the canyons and stay with sports bikes no worries. Did a few track days on the S1000R and it is more that capable!! Parked up yeah the Ducati may look slightly better but if you want the best of both worlds id choose the S1000R. More track days or as such riding than road use then Ducati. You will have loads of fun on whatever you choose tho... can you not test an S1KR for the day and take it to the canyons maybe? See how you get on..

Is there a full akra system available for it?
squeezar jones I'm not 100% sure if there is an optional extra direct from BMW when u buy the bike I would have to check. I think there is tho, although if it was a 'factory bought' exhaust all EU4 regulated exhausts now DO NOT have removable baffles they are fixed in. You can buy plenty of after market full systems tho like Akrápovic, Arrow, SC Project etc and after market stsyems should still have removable baffles. But to be honest when ur going along this Akra can sounds pretty good in real life so think I'll stick with this for a bit 😀👍👍

Alan Dubbel V Yeah I like the fairing on the 2015 / 2016 model better I think, but I wanted a new one lol. Plus the chassis / suspension and everything is upgrades and feels a lot better. Don't know why they didn't keep the fairing the same tho especially if it's more or less the same size but they have left it plastic?? Strange... oh well. Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
