Stumbled into Shakey while checking reaction videos on Childers and Wall. He is genius! I think he's best without backup band, that's when he really gets immersed in his music. Check out the songs on Stetson, and Dear!y Departed on the John Lennon Bus. I could !listen to them everyday!!
Been a fan of him for a while and I completely agree he’s better without a band, and he agrees too haha. He didn’t create studio albums for years after his first big blow up because he didn’t like the sound in the studio. He thrives on the live music aspect, almost bluesy in that way. The best type of musician in my opinion. Not to say his studio albums aren’t good, just know if you have a chance to see him live it’s totally worth the price of admission
shakey is so fun to listen to. sometimes I think the words are an afterthought for me. The music hes playing with every part of his body including his voice can deliver so much that later when I go back and figure out what he actually said its just a bonus and I realize that I did not need them to get the message. The feelings were all already there in the music he plays. After the first time I heard this I went an spent a few days just playing through the album end to end a few times.
Glad I found this channel. I was just curious what TH-cam reaction videos thought of this uniquely great song and performance. But, I’m totally impressed with your reaction and analysis. I love what you had to say. New subscriber FOR SURE.
I discovered Shakey because of Gregory Alan Isakov... Another amazing human being and musician. Check out The Stable Song and it just gets better and better with every song. ✌️😊💜
Another call for 'Late July'...The version where he's sitting in the stormdrain. Also the rest of the Audiotree Sessions. PS - Really cool to see someone discovering Shakey, the smile on your face says it all!

Marcus King is cool ,but see you on Tuesday 😉
Who are you and where tf have you been
It's not country music. I can't fucking stand country music. None of these artists are country......they are straight up rockers!
This really isn’t traditional country music at all.
I wouldn't call this country music. It's blues.
