Saw him at a TINY venue just outside Cleveland, OH a few years back - small room with 30-40 people tops. He played for an hour & a half, just him, his guitar, kick drum and a harmonica, and he was incredible. My friend asked me if I wanted to check him out that morning and this video was what he showed me. Drove 2 hours, $8 ticket, one of the best live shows I’ve ever been to. Crazy talent. He’s a super nice dude too, hung out outside and talked to everybody for a while post show.
I've been listening to Reactions for many years and you are the FIRST to ever react to Shakey Graves. I'm a big fan. He is a solo kind of performer and has many good songs. thanks for checking him out.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 LOVE SHAKEY GRAVES!!! lmao when you said this man can def pat his head, rub his stomach & chew gum at same time all that stuff 🤣 yes he can lol good reaction vid 👍 thx!
Man, I just found your reactions and now I have SOOO much to watch lol. I absolutely love your appreciation of music and your analyses. Especially your Bo Burnham reactions, aurora and Phil Collins vids. Shakey's one of my most favorite musicians, I've learned a few songs of his and to do what he's doing on that kick drum/tambourine whole playing AND singing? Dude forget about it lol. So difficult
This is his home studio version, recorded in one take. The cleaned up, producion version is not great. It's the rawness of this version that makes it so wonderful.
Love Shakey’s stuff, if you like the multi tasking, check out Benjamin Tehoval 44 blues video music.th-cam.com/video/rkF7aiiLVZc/w-d-xo.html&feature=share
The song Dearly Departed is awesome. There's a Pandora Live version and then he made a video for it later. They sound completely different. I prefer the Pandora one for the sound but the other one is awesome for the story that's told in the video.
I'll be 81-years old tomorrow, and this has my head bobbin' and my toes tapping. Thanks for the react, Polo.
I hope I live to see that age! Thanks for watching
Hope you had a great Birthday

Best comment ever ❤️❤️

Also, the place is called Mahalls, it’s in Lakewood, OH, and they make some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life lol
Big Shakey fan! Very much encourage everyone to see him live. He has several different versions of all of his songs. It’s incredible.
