Much like a beautiful woman is just as beautiful without makeup to the man that awakens beside her, this live performance of these 3 instrumentalist & a vocalist is every bit as special to most of us. In many ways more so BECAUSE its imperfections. The imperfections make the emotions that are part of the appeal of this performance more "real".

I remember seeing them in concert in Cleveland. Their first album had just come out and people really didn't know that much about them. I sat down in the front row just talking to people. There were only about 200 people in the hall. All of a sudden the lights went down and the curtains opened and there they were. They broke out with Communications Breakdown and I was awestruck. They were so loud that the sound was pushing me back against my seat. I couldn't take my eyes off them after that. They played that whole first album that night and it's a night I will never forget.

Imagine being in 1969 and the heaviest thing you've ever heard is The Rolling Stones and Deep Purple, and then you suddenly hear this on the radio. I legitimately can not imagine the shock you would feel at how heavy this is. I am forever envious of my dad and the experience of the British invasion that he had.

gtoloverful ; that is of course always open to opinion. I would say: judge musicians by both their historical place in music and their influence. Then I would like to propose people like: Ginger Baker, RIngo Starr (yes you will be surprised but he is in fact a very solid drummer when giving him several listening proofs), John Bonham, Keith Moon, Bill Bruford, Stewart Copeland, Gene Krupa, Mitch Mitchell, Neil Peart, Lars Ulrich and because he is a fav of mine, Scott Rockenfield.

And that was for a more modern band. Imagine if today’s singers had to do this kind of performance all the time. No auto tune. No bs. Just raw energy into their music. They’d crash and burn. I’ve been going down a rabbit hole the last few days. Listening to and watching these performances from years ago. I wasn’t even alive for the artist’s performances I’ve watched. Somehow I feel like I’m better for having seen it all though. Zeppelin, Hendrix, Woodstock, Joplin, The Doors, Queen, Leadbelly, it’s been an amazing adventure just from the comfort of my 2024 apartment. I can only imagine what it must have been like to live it all. Just ridiculous talents from these ppl.

Saw them when I was 15yrs old. My girlfriend from school and myself were counting down the minutes, on that hot summers evening....we were about to see Led Zeppelin, WoW. We melted when Robert Plant opened the concert with Whole Lotta Love. The crowd was full of fans. I broke my heel that night, rushing through the crowd during interval, pleased to have been there, Heck, in all I am so happy having lived through the 70s

No in ear monitors, no "auto tune", no pro tools editing, nothing but a stage, amp, and mic. AMAZING

Omg, I say that all the time to my kids when I’m in their cars and they’re playing they’re stupid songs. I can’t deal with it. I keep telling them. We had four people on stage playing instruments and singing into a microphone and that’s all we need and they became legendary. And it was their real voice and their real talent for their real instruments. I’m glad to see your comments.✌️😇
