Something about the early performances that are so close to the record. The same with Black Sabbath, a lot of people don't regard Ozzy a good singer live but the Paris 1970 show really shows how close to the record he was
I remember seeing them in concert in Cleveland. Their first album had just come out and people really didn't know that much about them. I sat down in the front row just talking to people. There were only about 200 people in the hall. All of a sudden the lights went down and the curtains opened and there they were. They broke out with Communications Breakdown and I was awestruck. They were so loud that the sound was pushing me back against my seat. I couldn't take my eyes off them after that. They played that whole first album that night and it's a night I will never forget.

Crazy to me that plant was only 20 when this album came out, and that it was over 50 years ago now.. The raw power and range of his vocals is truly astonishing to say the least. Led Zeppelin will live forever, long live the Kings of R&R!
The rawness and immediacy of this live performance is just.... a breathtaking expression of inevitable heartbreak, perfect with all the imperfections of a live recording -- amazing. So glad this was captured for all time.
Been listening to this song on repeat for the last week. Beautiful ups and downs in intensity. The gritty, the smooth, soft and loud. Robert Plant is a master ❤
Dear Robert it´s good that you have come across my message and that you have brought me to your memory, it has been a long time since i spoke with you. i saw the videos of your tour in US and Europe last year (23) i really liked them. i have missed you so much. i always remember you darling. many kisses for you baby.❣
I saw them indoors in 72 Newcastle City Hall and also in 75 at Earl’s Court, there is also film on TH-cam from the Royal Albert Hall 1970 and loads of stuff from the states as well.
the absolute rawness and sheer power of this entire recording, plants vocals, page's guitar and bonzo's beastly drums and jpj's bass lines..... just amazing
I agree.... Cutting their teeth... Maybe.....perfecting their stage craft....Maybe. But it was all there...... and it became the Mega Group That Was: Led Zepp! Gods Gift To Humankind! (That'll upset a few, no doubt!) (F#ck 'em.)
All of that first album continues to just blow me away. Then consider the 4 of them had only been playing together for a few months and it's even more inconceivable. Led Zeppelin 1 will always be my all time favorite album.
It is easily conceivable . Page had it masterminded months before they recorded that, in just 30 hours of studio time. How can any (true) Zep fan be so clueless ? sheesh..
look I was born and raised loving Zeppelin, Bowie, Dylan, the Beatles, the Stones, CSNY, Joni, all of the absolute legends, but if you think for a single second that all of those artists wouldn't have behaved the same way as today's stars if they were around today, you're nuts.
How can an aspiring young Led Zeppelin group start off like this???? OMG!!! Kids sitting next to the stage listening to what would become the BEST band EVER!!! WOW!! Dont I wish I would have been one of those kids!!! LED ZEPPELIN !!!! Forever the BEST!!!
It's a miracle that these 4 guys found each other and made this band. Each 1 with there own skills United to form the greatest rock band of all time. You will never make it as a rock band and will drop like a ZEPPELIN. TRUELY AMAZING!..
At this point in their career, early !!! I think people didn't realize what precious, fabulous music was gonna come out of them. It is 2023 and I am still gobsmacked.
Saw them when I was 15yrs old. My girlfriend from school and myself were counting down the minutes, on that hot summers evening....we were about to see Led Zeppelin, WoW. We melted when Robert Plant opened the concert with Whole Lotta Love. The crowd was full of fans. I broke my heel that night, rushing through the crowd during interval, pleased to have been there, Heck, in all I am so happy having lived through the 70s
@@JesusLives Omg, I say that all the time to my kids when I’m in their cars and they’re playing they’re stupid songs. I can’t deal with it. I keep telling them.
Half centuries ago, still epic and refreshing.
great great great great great voice Robert plant fantastic
You should have your shot out ears checked
but that's a great voice
+Boris Czechinov like fingernails on a chalkboard
Ian Curtis' spectre i'm sorry man but that's a god like voice
+Boris Czechinov a self-proclaimed golden dog...err GOD!!! too bad they were a band of thieves!
Only indoor concert. Robert is absolutely phenomenal on this song. So emotionally raw. That's why he is the best ! 💙💙💙💙💙
Only indoor concert?
I saw them indoors in 72 Newcastle City Hall and also in 75 at Earl’s Court, there is also film on TH-cam from the Royal Albert Hall 1970 and loads of stuff from the states as well.
Been a fan since 74 i was 7 year's old my mother used Crank this song all the time 💯 RIP Mom ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can watch this again and again! Early Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest rock you'll find!
Love Led Zeppelin! My favorite band! Grew up with this music my whole Life!
Plant has such a brilliant talent for acting out the songs - all of his emotions seem so genuine and powerful. And his voice!!!! Oh my God.
All of them love what they are doing
the absolute rawness and sheer power of this entire recording, plants vocals, page's guitar and bonzo's beastly drums and jpj's bass lines..... just amazing
How can any (true) Zep fan be so clueless ? sheesh..

This song breaks my heart, every single time
Obviously my best song. It’s one of my all time favourite. How are you doing? Greetings from New Jersey. Where are you from?
2:59 is the real reason why 70s music have so much to offer, no autotune, no fake instagram posts, no agenda behind it, just pure talent.
Yes -- " pure talent."
And big ball
@@francescodepietro5189 That's right!
look I was born and raised loving Zeppelin, Bowie, Dylan, the Beatles, the Stones, CSNY, Joni, all of the absolute legends, but if you think for a single second that all of those artists wouldn't have behaved the same way as today's stars if they were around today, you're nuts.
Check out king gizzard and the lizard wizard, there is still good music out there its just that people now a days just love shit music.
Decades ago and feels like yesterday! My generation was so very fortunate (born 1949)!
I cannot express myself properly when I listen to this masterpiece...
Amazing live performance! 🎶🎼❤️
Obviously my best song. It’s one of my all time favourite. How are you doing? Greetings from New Jersey. Where are you from?
Robert's got golden tones to his rich voice and 50 years later he still does! xxx
Still my FAVORITE Led Zeppelin song. Robert is pure perfection here! They all are. 💜
Woweeeee. No compressor, no reverb, no de-esser and no after effects. So very real and honest.
And the music world was never the same... mind blowing musicians
5:00, just look at how he is standing- unreal performer
One of the bess, 2 B sure
It's a miracle that these 4 guys found each other and made this band. Each 1 with there own skills United to form the greatest rock band of all time. You will never make it as a rock band and will drop like a ZEPPELIN. TRUELY AMAZING!..
God damn!!!
I am so addicted to this version
Can't get enough of this
Thanks for uploading this absolute gem
Wholeheartedly agree!!
Mozarts of our time
REAL
SAME INSTRUCTOR.
Mozart wrote HIS OWN music - he did not COVER!
For sure ....
@@GeorgeTel100 You knew Mozart? Duuude, you're old
I saw a lot of concerts when I was young but the one band that I truly regret never seeing was Led Zeppelin.
One of the best live performances I have ever seen. People there didn’t know that they witness history.
Timeless and breathtaking
At this point in their career, early !!! I think people didn't realize what precious, fabulous music was gonna come out of them. It is 2023 and I am still gobsmacked.
Best vocal performance live I have ever seen or heard. Knocked my socks off. Sure did.
Loooooove this song. Nothing compares to Led Zeppelin 💕💕emotions, sexiness, top notch musicians doing what they do best
He's so young and handsome and look at that hair and that look in his eyes 😍😍 I'm in love ❤️
Incredible Voice + sex-appeal + soul + passion+ beautiful face+ perfect body + wonderful haïr = Robert Plant = RockGOD
And married already at such a young age
I have no words for this. I literally can not stop watching this video again and again.
Led Zeppelin's music sticks to your bones!
No in ear monitors, no "auto tune", no pro tools editing, nothing but a stage, amp, and mic. AMAZING

Omg, I say that all the time to my kids when I’m in their cars and they’re playing they’re stupid songs. I can’t deal with it. I keep telling them. We had four people on stage playing instruments and singing into a microphone and that’s all we need and they became legendary. And it was their real voice and their real talent for their real instruments. I’m glad to see your comments.✌️😇
