Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world. - เพลง
In 1974 at a youth club dance i met a 16yo girl, asked her to dance to "Stairway to Heaven" I was 17yo. We celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary this year. The lyrics hang on our lounge room wall still today. LOVE IT.

Aw that’s so beautiful! 🥹 Happy Anniversary 💕
This is so great.
8 minute song probably helped build that initial connection. Today songs are less than 3 minutes and all about booty dancing so no chance of emotionally connecting with another human.
I'm trying to master the tambourine solo...
Jimmy Paige‘s Guitar Solo is out of this world.
And Bonham ❤
Jimmy broke a string at 8:36 and kept rocking just like that. Ridiculously good ZoSo
Simplemente epico!!❤
How do you mean that? This is virtually the worst solo he ever played to that song. He obviously has no genuine ideas but recycles microphrases from former performances. He occasionally is out of rhythm - and not in a good way. Overall, it makes me wish he would just stop. Don't get me wrong: I love Zep, and I love this song. But compare this to the solo he played at Madison Square Garden, maybe you get what I am talking about.
imo this is improvisation and creativity. I think if you only care about execution Jimmy is not the right one for you. Nowadays there are a lot of good executors and a few good composers. I get that you love led zeppelin but art is different than a sport game. He always use licks in this solo but it is really different than tsrt or bbc for example.
Eine Legende! Led Zeppelin ist einfach unsterblich! Es ist keine Musik, es ist ein Lebensstil! DANKE FÜR ALLES!!!

I was in this concert in 1975. I had arrived in London in 1972 to study business. It was an incredible concert from which I clearly remember three things: Jimmy Page's magnificent solo guitar in Starway to Heaven, Robert Plant singing bare chest at maximum potency, and the strong weed smell throughout the concert. I was 24 at that time and what a wonderful experience this was: It will live on my mind forever.

My mom said no music back in those days
Saw them back to back nights in 1977. The tickets were $7.50! We thought that was a lot of $$ lol. The absolute best concerts of my life. When rock was king and people actually really played and had talent. God I miss those days
Saw the boys back in ‘77 also: Madison Sq. Garden. Paid through the nose: $20 for good seats through a ticket agency. Still my favorite concert! Just awesome!

This band was a gift… the combination of skill, passion, intuition, discipline, coolness is something that we won’t see again in our lifetime.
40 Years old and come here just to see how it's refreshing to see a band play together like this again. This is a transcending timeless piece. Tempo, rhythm, beat, chorus, bridges - everything done right and would serve as a blueprint for the many artists that would precede it.
This is not even music; it's beyond that. This is spiritual.

This song is so unique. I just wanna say that it just doesn't belongs only to the 70's when it was created, but also to all era, even nowadays, it still belongs. It's timeless, precisely. You can be 20 today, or in your 30's, or 40's, or late 50's early 70's, I bet this song still feel the same as it was back then. I can't describe it for any of you, but everytime i listen to it, i feel as if the world around me just stop in silence, and everything is ignored, which is fine, for this song is being born, raise and lives in you. Everytime i play it, it was a new breath of life, and I will find something new from it. You will learn something from it, and it's only made by 4 people whose in their early 20's. It's not perfect, but nothing is, and it's a beauty that stays forever, when the others just gone...

I was introduced to Led Zeppelin back in 1975 by my brother. What an experience. I don’t think they knew that they were leading the charge. I’m happy to be a part of it.
I was at the Atlanta Concert in 1973. We were on the field at the old Braves stadium. They were drunk and on drugs and sounded Nothing like their albums. I was caught in a crush of pushing. I finally made it out and found a small area to lay down in. I was looking at the sky and trying to breathe. All of a sudden they played (horribly) "Stairway to Heaven". I looked at the sky and said, "Oh, God. I've died and gone to hell." LOL.....More than 2/3 of the stadium left including us. Then while getting in our car we were robbed at gunpoint!!!!!! Needless to say.... the worst concert of my life and I've been to more than 300! Rolling Stones (Twice), Elvis (Twice) Lynard Synard (5 times) Eric Clapton (three times) Eagles (Four times) Jackson Browne (Eight times), Springsteen (twice), and Jim Morrison (once) and Janis Joplan(once) were my favorites. Maybe Tom Petty as well. I've been to a lot of concerts!

Lyrics
There's a lady who's sure
All that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
When she gets there she knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
There's a sign on the wall
But she wants to be sure
'Cause you know, sometimes words have two meanings
In a tree by the brook
There's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, it makes me wonder
There's a feeling I get
When I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen
Rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, it really makes me wonder
And it's whispered that soon
If we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn
For those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter
Oh whoa-whoa-whoa, oh-oh
If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean for the May Queen
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
And there's still time to change the road you're on
And it makes me wonder
Oh, whoa
Your head is humming and it won't go
In case you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow?
And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind?
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all, yeah
To be a rock and not to roll
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

Once upon a time, in a quaint little village nestled between rolling hills and whispering forests, there lived a solitary old man named Benjamin. He was known among the villagers as a recluse, spending most of his days tending to his garden and his aging dog, Rufus. Despite the villagers' attempts to befriend him, Benjamin remained aloof, his heart guarded by the memories of a long-lost love.
One brisk autumn morning, as the golden leaves danced in the gentle breeze, a curious girl named Lily stumbled upon Benjamin's garden. Fascinated by the riot of colors and fragrances, she tiptoed through the rows of flowers until she reached the old man's doorstep. Knocking timidly, she awaited a response.
To her surprise, Benjamin opened the door with a weary smile. His eyes, once clouded with sorrow, sparkled with newfound warmth as he welcomed the young visitor. Lily, undeterred by Benjamin's reputation, chattered away, sharing stories of her adventures and dreams.
In the days that followed, Lily returned to Benjamin's garden, each visit strengthening the bond between the unlikely pair. She listened intently to his tales of love and loss, while he marveled at her youthful exuberance. Slowly but surely, Benjamin's heart thawed, thawed by the kindness of a young girl who saw beyond his gruff exterior.
As winter cast its icy veil over the village, Lily noticed Benjamin growing frail, his once sturdy frame weakened by age. Determined to repay his kindness, she rallied the villagers to help renovate his dilapidated cottage and tend to his garden. Together, they worked tirelessly, their laughter mingling with the crisp winter air.
On Christmas Eve, as snowflakes danced in the moonlight, Benjamin and Lily sat by the crackling fire, surrounded by flickering candles and the warmth of newfound friendship. With tears of gratitude glistening in his eyes, Benjamin reached for Lily's hand and whispered, "Thank you for bringing light into my life, my dear Lily. For in you, I have found the true meaning of love and friendship."
And so, in the heart of winter's embrace, amidst the whispers of the wind and the glow of the stars, an unlikely friendship blossomed, proving that even the coldest of hearts can thaw in the warmth of kindness and companionship.

The recording sound quality is absolute amazing.
After 50 years it's still a hymn
Today is a year since my friend Robbie Knievel died. 47 years ago when we met he played this for me on his guitar. May all the great people RIP. 😢
Hoje, brasileira , carioca, 50 anos, vocês não tem noção de quanto essa música me confortou...
One of the most beautiful songs in history.
One of, if not, the greatest rock songs ever recorded
The greatest song.
Gay songs, old bean.
@@stormbringerseven8288 I suspect your that way yourself old bean.
Hotel California holds that title
@@malegi29 great song, legendary band, love em saw em twice, Hotel California a top fiver of mine but doesn't beat out Stairway To Heaven.
Best ever guitar solo. Change my mind.
Smooth as the whiskey I drink
This is a youtube video that will be cherished for years to come, be grateful you live in an age where you can watch some of the greatest music at the click of a button. God bless the mighty zeppelin
Robert Plant = Best rock and roll front man
Jimmy Page = Greatest guitarist ever
John Paul Jones = best at whatever he touches (bass, keyboard, mandolin)
John Bonham = Greatest drummer there ever was
Led Zeppelin truly are the best of the best❤️
And you are the worst troll ever. Big applause for you.
"Jimmy Page = Greatest guitarist ever" Uhm, no, not by quite a bit. But an excellent rock-n-roll guitarist.
I love them too
@@TheScottEF all his riffs sounds the same. Just look whole lotta love and immigrant song
So fuckin insane true dude
My stairway to heaven was flying a B747-400 to the upper whispering winds where neither lark or eagle flew...the soaring music warms my soul...
in memory of the first time we heard this song, in memory of those teenage friends, in memory of those who are no longer here and I will always remember, in memory of the best song in history, in memory of all of them, forever
С 50-летием выхода Led Zeppelin 4! :)))

One of the best Stairway solos ever!
The best, i heard How West, The Song Remains, and nothing is compare to Earls Court 1975.
@@johnsanz8351 Berlin 1973
It sounds even better live
Stop lying
@@wtfexza Lol fr
One of the best versions live they have performed.
There is no one like them. Rock
Number one song for smoking weed. Hopefully we all find The Stairway to Heaven
sometimes, not many, but more than a few, humans can do something astonishing that transcends our short life span and mortality. Led zeppelin did it like a dozen times, that's how monumental they were
Jimmy's guitar solos are the 8th wonder of this world 🎸💖
So is Plant
Jimmy Page, has a talent in handling the guitar, but we must not forget that the greatest genius is Jimmi Hendrix-

Compared to Floyd this is a 1st yr secondary school music class grade solo tbh but I get what you mean still top 10 bands of All Times so I've no problem with anyones opinions or who they think is the best because from Fleetwood mac upwards it's God level music. The sort of music you'd present to Aliens to show what we are capable of with a musical instrument and sheer talent. Amazing stuff all of it.
