The kit here in Europe is much the same, only with different bolts, and you dont need the nut. But very happy with the result.
Thanks for the video, my kit did not come with any instructions at all. Your video was a God send. Thanks.

I have been thinkng of this for my older FXDL....I find it kind of top heavy....of course, I rode over 40 years on mostly rigid frames until a few years back... Back in the 80's I lowered a 75 Sportster for ny girlfriend back then....moved the shock mount back as per an Easy Rider tech tip....and made up new fender mounts (handy to have a bud with a chrome shop) and had to weld and shape washers on the rear fender to lift it enough to not get hit by the back tire on bumps. That very top heavy Sportster felt a lot more like an FX after the lowering.

When I do these on customers bikes, I use black grade 5, BUTTON HEAD CAP SCREWS, from my Ace Hardware. These look AWESOME and the grade 5 meet factory requirements for strength. They use a hex or Allen wrench for tightening. Also, if you watch closely one side of the lowering blocks will lift slightly off of the swingarm as you ride. Often it will raise up slightly just by tightening the bolts, its PHYSICS it doesn't have much choice. The cure is to replace the offending side bolt for the block with a longer one, AND most IMPORTANTLY get a NARROW NYLOCK NUT that will fit nicely on the inside. I do this on both sides for symmetry, although only one side will lift. A drop of blue LOCTITE, and torque to specs. No lifting, symmetrical, and structurally sound.

I don't understand what you mean by only one side will lift? Why is that?

Do they make bolt covers to blend that bolt a little better. Maybe a sticky polymer ? Not sure.
Your wife is spot on with the rear shocks. Love the anodized black
It looks way better than looking at coil springs!👍

Wondering with it being lowered even further if youre going to hit the wires that are ran on the inside of the fender?
(or if that was something that happened to me because I put a slightly wider tire on) ?? :)

Hi, ... not for arguing, but Why I would pay almost the same as brand new pair of rear shocks? I'm looking for 1 inch less in my Dyna FXDWG and certainly would buy this if the price were lower

technical query....after installing the lowers...the clearance between the left shock absorber and the belt guard...seems to rub...and I see that the brake caliper can touch the lower strut. .. If someone can help me... before damaging any part... I would appreciate it

I have an older Evo....last year I stopped to see if I could help a guy from one of the vet clubs on the side of teh road fiddling with his bike....his was a 2022 bagger....and it's electrical system was dead....unlike the older bikes. he had to call AAA and get towed to a dealer.....I love my dinosaur Evo.
