    Used your video to install my Burly Slammers on a '16 FXDB. Way more helpful than the instructions. Just ordered a set of Short Shots, and have been watching that video as well. Thanks for making a fun hobby even more enjoyable for an amateur!

    I just did the same project on my 16 FXDB but I trimmed my belt guard to allow for fender clearance.

    Nice bike and I'm really enjoying your videos. I just bought a 2017 Street Bob and will be doing many of the same mods. One question on this video...were there detailed instructions covering the step of measuring and cutting the fork tube spacers? Thanks!

      there's a chart in the instructions with all the sizes based on what bike you have. i think all of them except for the FXDF and FXDWG are 1" so yours would be 1"

    I still don’t understand how you find out how much to cut for the spacer to go into the tube. What did you mean about height of the bike to know how to space the measurement of the spacer

    Any issues with clearance as far as exhaust scraping the ground going into turns. And possibly bottoming out against belt guard. Thanks

    I am curious as to what you did with you rear turn signal setup as far as the wiring goes. I just threw a burley slammer kit on mine a few weeks ago. I have already had to remove the fender three times now to repair wiring from the tire bouncing up and hitting it. it has caused a multitude of problems. At first it shorted out the system causing my fuel gauge to quit working and as of yesterday I have no rear lights at all. The shocks are set on the hardest setting and my wires are run on the sides of the fender (inside). I also cut a very sturdy piece of fuel hose and ran the wires through it where they go through the fender under the seat so they would have some sort of protective sleeve around them and not contact the metal of the fender. I am only 150lbs so I know my light ass isn't the problem. Could you please tell what you did with yours or if you have even had the same issue at all....

      What bike and what year? my 15 Dyna has a plastic sleeve that you tuck all the wires in and it runs along the sides of the fender keeping them away from the tire. If you have a center rear light that might be causing some of the problems if there are more wires in the fender for a 3rd light. I only have the 2 signals on each side that are Run/Brake/Turn lights. Hope this helps let me know if you ever get it figured out

    Good stuff, I enjoyed the video, very detailed how-to. What was the overall drop in the front and rear with this kit? How was the ride affected? I'm wanting to install this kit but don't want too much of a bumpy ride.

    • @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652
      @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      @dboiR1The stock rear shocks are 13 inches and the Burly ones are 10.5 so the drop is 2.5 inches in the back and 2 inches the front with the new fork springs. I'm not gonna lie the ride is a little rougher but it doesn't bother me that much.

      Dirty South Motorcycle Co. probably a stupid question but do you not have to support the front end when changing the springs? Doesn't show that in the video

    • @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652
      @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Patrick Craft Yes you do. I forgot to film it (my phone was full and stopped filming) but I did include a pop up window right at the start of the front end section @4:27 calling this out. Just use the center jack from before to raise the front of the bike up until the forks are full extended and the wheel doesn't touch the ground. Be careful though, even with the fork fully extended the fork tube caps are still under a good amount of pressure. Hope this helps!

    I have a 2012 street bob. How do you know what size to cut the spacer?

    • @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652
      @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a chart in the instructions that tells you the sizes. I believe for all the FXDB (Street Bobs) the spacer is cut to 1". Instructions: www.burlybrand.com/literature/Slammer%20Kits/B28-1003INS_Slammer_Kit.pdf When in doubt you can always call the manufacturer. Hope this helps and good luck!

    Where do I find out what springs I need for my dyna low rider s..been searching high and low

    • @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652
      @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a ton of options out there, really depends on what ride height and suspension you're looking for. Check part websites like J&P Cycles and Revzilla with your bike selected and you'll see all the different ones that fit your bike.

    Hi, I have one street bob 2017, and considering doing this job. I have see that some guys have to take out the strap cover before install the new shocks. Which is you personal experience with that, and what about the stability, and handle?
    Thanks a lot, I'll will be waiting your reply.

    • @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652

      Hello can you clarify what a "strap cover" is thanks! as for the ride, a little rougher but no major difference.

    • @K4RRC
      @K4RRC 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think by strap cover he means the belt guard. I’ve seen some instances where people take them off due to fear of the rub after lowering with Burlys.
      Did you remove yours or is clearance adequate?

    Hey brother I just ordered my burly Slammer shocks for the back do you have any issues of rubbing your back tire or anything like that they would be concerns so I'll give me some heads up thanks brother

    • @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652
      @dirtysouthmotorcycleco.4652  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      no rubbing but I don't have a back seat (solo seat) or ride with passengers or bags. You might run into some rubbing there if there's extra weight on the back end. you can also adjust the springs to the stiffest setting so there's less travel. good luck!
