    Ive been watching all your videos and went for a Thomas Shelby cut. At first i almost gave up and just thought that i wont mess it up any more. Then I just went for it and it came out pretty ok, not a disaster. Im having trouble leaving too big of a Gap between the back of my hair and the top so it kinda looks like a bowl cut

    I've got somewhat longer hair, probably about 8 inches or so, not quite shoulder length but getting there. Does your clipper technique for the top of the head still work for hair at this length? Or should I first trim it in order to use this technique?

    • @theoneminutebarber

      This technique will take most of the hair away if it's that length. Unless you want it as short as mine is you'd be best to go to the barber.

    If you don’t mind ,can you tell me why is the corners of the blade of the clippers about 1/6 thick on both sides?

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you mean the Guard? Often they are larger than the blade and cutting depth so they can encase the moving parts. This is particularly useful when you are home haircutting as it keeps the soft skin on the back of the ear protected.

    • @jisifoff2469
      @jisifoff2469 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theoneminutebarber thanks for for the fast response but to clarify my question a bit better…I meant the actual metal blade that comes attached to the clippers , if you notice that on ether sides of the end of the face blade of the clipper ,on the right end and the left end it has both ends with a wider tooth on both sides , so it has me curious as to why those end tooth are wider then the rest of all the rest of the teeth.
      I hope I explain myself better this time. Let me know when you get a chance if you understood me.
      Take care.

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool I understand the question now. The top blade is the moving one and will cut through skin if it goes beyond the boundaries of the bottom blade. The hair feeds into the bottom blade but only when it is in far enough does the top blade cut it. The wider metal at the sides is where you reach the maximum width of the top blades cutting action. So because it must stay within the boundary of the bottom blade there is no point in having collector teeth all the way to the edge of the bottom blade.
