Yeah. One good thing about the pandemic I learned I never have to go to a hair cutting place again and spend 20$ on what amounts to a crew cut I can do myself. The clean up though is the annoying part.
About the toothbrush thing... My clippers came with a brush and some oil to clean and maintain the machine. The sensation of the machine across my head is addictive and the biggest high. Glad I’m not alone in this.

@@shoutatthesky We've had three up to now. 2 Months back in April 2020, 1 Month in November 2020 and currently 2 Months, possibly 3 in January 2021. That's half the year spent in lockdown and I'm all for it!
They all look better after the cut. I've been doing this myself since the beginning of the pandemic and it gets easier every time. I do #4 on top, then a section below that 3, lower 2 and bottom hairline 1. And when there is a bit of an edge between the sections I take the low number guard and pull the lever so the clippers move back, giving it a tiny bit more length, and go over that. Tadaaa smooth transition.

Exactly, and a buzzcut is just one length all over, they are moving on to tapering which does not make any sense, the benefit of the buzzcut is just using the one size guard all over.....
Hey, thanks for this. I've always had long hair, but a particularly paniful flare-up of seborrheic dermatitis and having to fight past my hair to treat it had me reaching for the clippers. I removed nearly a meter of length, down to a 1.3 cm buzz. My scalp feels amazing, my neck is getting used to not holding all that weight, and the bruised spot where my ponytail used to sit is healing. I don’t think i can go back to having crazy long hair again.
My go to hair style. Had my hair long (mid back) for years and I couldn’t handle it after my disability worsened and I found the buzz cut was my saving grace. It saves me lots of money and I don’t have to depend on others to brush it.
I started doing this about 30 years ago and never looked back. Probably saved $ four figures by not going to a barber all that time. Also, long hair seems to pick up dirt so fast. Short always feels cleaner and is easier to clean. I give myself a sort of softened jar-head cut. I started off using a mirror and trimming a straight edge in back, which was the hardest part, but gave that up years ago. Now I just use a close cutting guard and let it feather along the natural hairline --by feel, no mirror needed.
There are levels to buzzing your own head. I have been doing it for years and little by little I have improved my cutting techniques. Now I can cut my own hair within 10mins and successfully. 👍👍
one of the things i learned while shaving my head is DON'T WEAR YOUR REGULAR CLOTHES! when i shaved my hair for the first time, i was wearing one of my regular t-shirts and these little short hairs that fell down on it are still in it, a few years later! they just got stuck in the fabric and i can't get them out. they feel really annoying as well, i can barely see them but they sting in a really annoying fashion. so wear a cape or a shirt that you dont care about!!
I know I’m late, but here’s what might help. 1. Fill up tub of HOT WATER. 2. Get washing detergent, fabric softer if you want. 3. Soak clothes the water for 30 minutes. Keep clothes in water and begin scrubbing the fabric together. After that, rinse with cool water. That should help!
Been growing my hair for almost three years, one of my biggest fears that is constantly around me is going bald, so i just decided to completely shave my head and was looking for a tutorial. This was very helpful so thank you!
I was having breakfast and rubbed my head and it looked like it was snowing hair. Started buzz cutting my hair that week. Never looked back. The only problem is my hair does not grow very fast and I love buzzing it esp. when its longer. Very ASMR. Keep at it. Most everyone looks better with a buzz cut.
I started doing this last month after paying for a fade every two weeks in the military for almost 4 years. Got tired of wasting money and I actually like this look more
That's where I'm at now. I have a side cut on both sides of my head to help deal with my very, very thick hair and the massive knotting that ensues. But even with 25% of my hair gone, I still can't manage it or do anything with it despite how long it is. Bout to take the rest of it off.
Parents used to shave my head every once in a while when I grew up and it really felt natural without hair. I want to learn how to shave it myself now that I'm halfway of getting bald, this kinda encouraged me to try it out. Learning to shave myself also means that I'll be able to save up some money in the long run, so it's a win-win situation.

Moreover my friends like it and my girlfriend asks me to keep it since she thinks I look more attractive. Guess I will be bald for a longer period of time.
I started with a buzzcut about a month ago after a bald patch was found behind my left ear. I told them MATCH the PATCH... then I bought my own clippers and have only used the no 1 size and left the hair on top long... I've gotten several compliments since. I'm very happy with it...

@@shoutatthesky I can't say I disagree. I don't mind shoulder or near shoulder lengths, my girl has that length and it looks good. Shorter hair styles are just a no go for me though, but it's all preference, if that's what makes you feel confident go for it!
as a Californian i'm looking at these comments about "lockdown is over" and… oof. i don't think it is, or not for long at least. Since the hairdressers are already closed for a long time here in Germany, and will be for at least another 3 or 4 weeks, I decided to buzz my hair. I followed the instructions, it worked, my hair is gone. Looks cool! Thanks ;)
1. get a small mirror to look into so you will be able to see behind you 2. get some liners (andis T preferred) 3. watch videos on how to fade 4. dont be afraid 5. stay focused
Can't wait for summer to come so I can buzz my hair off. For now I have an undercut just to get used to having short hair in the back. I really want to see what my head looks like.
To make straight lines on the back of my head I use index cards that are cheap and disposable. Measure twice (or more) cut once. Measure once, cut twice (and be unhappy with it). I've been shaving my own head for 11 years now.
Can someone please tell me how many milimeter these 3 different ways are? (1.trimming with zero guard 2.shaving with electric shaver 3.regular razor) And does shaving with regular razor also remove the dead skincells which is better for scalp health?
I started getting an all over buzzcut with the number 1 guard about 10 years ago. But prior to doing that, I had been losing my hair on top since my mid to late 20's. It's been very liberating to say the least.
Thanks for this. I buzz my husband’s hair pretty regularly, but he always keeps it short. Watched this through and then cut the very long hair of a female relative starting chemo.
This video inspired me to buzz my own head and I love the feeling of it buzzed short! I let the top grow more now but every couple of months or so I go down to a full buzz just to keep the length short. (My hair grows really fast, which is why I've never been able to keep a short haircut despite loving them)
This was helpful! I've been cutting my own hair since the Pandemic started! That always involves a buzz cut!...LOL. The biggest challenge is making the cut even overall. I always struggle with the Back and Sides ( around the ears). I bought a smaller razor for the sides.
I've been growing my dreads for 5 years now don't plan on cutting my hair at all I plan on having my hair almost as long as Damian Marley's but I'm going to cut my girlfriend's hair so I'm glad I came to this video I support everyone who either grows or cuts their hair or whatever style they love
watching this because I'm making my friends shave my hair after exams which are in a week. this is definitely going to be my way of letting all the stress go and I'm so excited 😭😭
The last time that I saw a barber was November 29, 2022. Thus, I gave myself a buzzcut about two weeks ago because my hair was unmanageable at about 4 inches in length and growing. I used Phillips Norelco Bodygroom Series 7100 that got the job done. It wasn't very efficient because I had to stop to recharge it 3 or 4 times during the haircut. I'm in the process of shopping for better clippers because I would like to give myself a haircut every other week. Finally, it's so much easier to deal with my hair on a day-to-day basis.
I just used this video to cut off my hair, about the same length as the guy, except the front half was already done for me by genetics, and it was starting to look ridiculous. I used to be a metalhead with long curly hair over my shoulders, I haven't had it short for two decades, and never this short since I was a baby, so I took a really deep breath... It turned out better than I expected! Thanks to everyone involved in making this video :)
Even though I just transitioned to long curly hair since I used to straighten it this makes me want to go back to a buzzcut. When I was a kid I had a buzzcut and I starting growing it out like 5 years but I would straighten my hair and just recently once again I finally got the courage to stop straightening my hair.
Cutting loose hair is a feeling of restoring order! No more long hair dryer sessions, brushing styling etc. Also, I'd say the finishing touch would be to clean up the contours.

Women look so frickin' cool with buzzcuts! That's it, I'm doin' it too.
Lesssgooooo maude
Ah no. Most women look terrible with any type of short hair style. It makes them look like man hating lesbians.
@@shoutatthesky I can't say I disagree. I don't mind shoulder or near shoulder lengths, my girl has that length and it looks good. Shorter hair styles are just a no go for me though, but it's all preference, if that's what makes you feel confident go for it!
How did it go
They so do! And at the end of the day it grows back anyway if you end up not liking it so I hope you went/go for it :)
frick it. I’m gonna do it. i’ll get back to y’all when hairdressers/barbers open again
lol shoulda watched this before i did mine, i did mine without a guard and im super buzzed hahaha
as a Californian i'm looking at these comments about "lockdown is over" and… oof. i don't think it is, or not for long at least.
[note: if you live somewhere with a functional and responsive government and aren't seeing record-breaking case and hospitalization rates day after day, i deeply envy you]
Exactly
Howdy fellow Californian! These are monastic times, time for a fitting haircut.🤣 All you said couldn't be more true 💗 stay safe and well out there!

Since the hairdressers are already closed for a long time here in Germany, and will be for at least another 3 or 4 weeks, I decided to buzz my hair. I followed the instructions, it worked, my hair is gone. Looks cool! Thanks ;)
She’s looking hot asf with the short hair
no

Lol no. Not sure why, but even the hottest girl becomes instantly ugly with short hair in my opinion.
She looks a but like angelina joli in the movie HACKERS (1995)
I love watching these videos even though I have been cutting my hair for years. Both of them looked amazing with buzz cuts.
I’ve heard it’s easier if your hair is slightly wet. I have a wahl sterling bullet and it catches a lot. I think I’ll upgrade to the wahl senior.
1. get a small mirror to look into so you will be able to see behind you
2. get some liners (andis T preferred)
3. watch videos on how to fade
4. dont be afraid
5. stay focused
Got it.
Can't wait for summer to come so I can buzz my hair off. For now I have an undercut just to get used to having short hair in the back. I really want to see what my head looks like.
No words to explain how much I enjoyed this. Everyone looks GREAT ! :)
This is already more hustle than I hoped for lol.
To make straight lines on the back of my head I use index cards that are cheap and disposable. Measure twice (or more) cut once. Measure once, cut twice (and be unhappy with it).
I've been shaving my own head for 11 years now.
That guy looks hot regardless if he has long hair or short.
No....
mkr10001 yes...
Ariel he is beautiful. I REALLY like him w short hair bc of his fabulous cheek bones and jaw structure
His nail polish is a really pretty color too. 😍
It matches him more then the long
Can someone please tell me how many milimeter these 3 different ways are? (1.trimming with zero guard 2.shaving with electric shaver 3.regular razor)
And does shaving with regular razor also remove the dead skincells which is better for scalp health?
I usually just do a 2 on my whole head, it is tricky to get used to going backwards in the mirror when you are doing the edges
Yes, I got in a bit of a pickle trying to put the clipper comb flat to my head when I started clipping around my ears with the #3 comb.
Watched this through and then cut the very long hair of a female relative starting chemo.
i have a low low buzz cut for a long time, its so good to not be concerned about how the hair is
This video inspired me to buzz my own head and I love the feeling of it buzzed short! I let the top grow more now but every couple of months or so I go down to a full buzz just to keep the length short. (My hair grows really fast, which is why I've never been able to keep a short haircut despite loving them)
You think it’d look fine with just a uniform length across your whole head? Without sizing down for your sides/back/sideburns?
This isn't shaving your head... it's cutting your hair.
I’m going to shave my head in a few days, and this is super helpful. I’m even more excited!
ok where was this during LOCKDOWN GQ
I've been cutting my own hair since 1988.
Different styles and trends.
In 2014 I just started shaving it all.
Ummm, when does the shaving start?
I normally don't like the way buzz cuts look but these 2 look amazing
This was helpful!
I've been cutting my own hair since the Pandemic started! That always involves a buzz cut!...LOL.
The biggest challenge is making the cut even overall. I always struggle with the Back and Sides ( around the ears). I bought a smaller razor for the sides.
I've been growing my dreads for 5 years now don't plan on cutting my hair at all I plan on having my hair almost as long as Damian Marley's but I'm going to cut my girlfriend's hair so I'm glad I came to this video I support everyone who either grows or cuts their hair or whatever style they love
My mans is teaching people basic common sense 😂 love it aha
watching this because I'm making my friends shave my hair after exams which are in a week. this is definitely going to be my way of letting all the stress go and I'm so excited 😭😭
have been debating getting a buzz cut for a few weeks, think this video might seal the deal
Have u done it
clover Yeah about a week after I posted this comment 🤣
Jaime Ulises buzzed my hair like a week ago😂I used to have chin length curly hair lmao
I’m concerned that no one is talking about that one guy who doesnt have a toothbrush... like...
I think he means he doesn't have a spare toothbrush. No one wants to use the one they use for brushing their teeth
Thanks to everyone involved in making this video :)
i love that simon has blue nails polish painted on his fingers together with the buzz cut he looks 1000000 times sexier :P
I'm just getting a buzzcut during my winter break; it is two weeks so it should grow back to a better length if I don't like it.
"Little maintenance" lol I have to touch up once a week with clippers, shaving, dying, etc.
Ikr this looks like a high maintenance dut honestly lol.
post a link to the print out for our convenience plz. thanks.
I just cut off a foot and half of hair the other day, liberating.
Even though I just transitioned to long curly hair since I used to straighten it this makes me want to go back to a buzzcut. When I was a kid I had a buzzcut and I starting growing it out like 5 years but I would straighten my hair and just recently once again I finally got the courage to stop straightening my hair.
This is actually the perfect time to shave your hair. Covid 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Cutting loose hair is a feeling of restoring order! No more long hair dryer sessions, brushing styling etc.
Also, I'd say the finishing touch would be to clean up the contours.
Omg, I’m 55 with terminal cancer, and can’t afford a haircut. This made me laugh and I’m going to try it. What’s it going to do, kill me?
🙏
