This is not hyperbole, this is TRUTH!
My son has mental illness and often doesn't know how to ask for what he wants, as he's very shy. At the barber shop, he tells them "short" so he ends up with an unflattering military cut.
He has beautiful thick wavy hair, and I've always wanted him to get a cut that's longer on top, like this.
I've cut his hair since COVID, and I'm getting a feel for it. However, your instructions are exactly what I needed!
      So many great tips.
His hair is very dark, almost black, but his beard is flaming red and very kinky/curly. No idea how his genetics came up with that combo, but I think it looks very cool.
I did find out recently that my grandmother, who I was told was Cherokee, was actually Welsh and so was my grandfather. They had black hair, olive skin, and dark brown eyes. I read that many Welsh and so-called "black Irish" have North African ancestors. That would be cool by me! Maybe there's even some Viking thrown in there too!😃
      It's all good.

You're a fantastic teacher! I've been cutting my sons' hair sporadically for the last 25 years without many complaints, but my youngest (13 next week) is much more particular than his older brothers ever were. He was extremely pleased with his haircut today and I have to say it is the best I have ever done by far. Very much thanks to this video and your scissor cut video, the best I've watched.

My darling hubby's cheap and wants me to try cutting his hair. He works from home so he reckons if it all goes horribly wrong it won't matter much! This video was very helpful, thank you.
BTW - Loved the voiceover. I actually think more people should do them. The end results are quite often better than live recordings, with more details, fewer/no Ums, Errs, etc.

Most in depth, and useful haircut tutorial I’ve found.
I’ve been cutting my husband’s hair for months. He’s been growing the length out on top, so after fading the sides, I’ve only blended it into the top so far, but he’s ready to cut off some top length. I had no idea how to even begin 😂 This helped so much!

So,I just "happened" upon your video while looking up how to cut men's hair so my elderly father doesn't have to go out for a haircut(and honestly is never happy w the work when he does). His barber died a couple yrs ago, after 50 yrs-yes, FIFTY YEARS- of cutting my Dad's hair. He did the straight razor shave and everything. But now he can't find anyone who is able to do a comparable cut. But what I really wanted to say is that I have taught ppl to ride and train horses most of my life and making the information understandable can be a challenge. But wow,are u a FANTASTIC TEACHER!! It's often just "assumed" that if u know how to do something, then surely u can teach others to do it,which no doubt u already know,is not always the case. But yeah, you're fantastic. Thanks so much for such great (UNDERSTANDABLE) info! You have taken the "mystery" (😅)out of how to do a men's haircut for me. I thank you so much.(I'll let ya know if my Dad thanks you too...after we see how I do lol😉) Cheers!

AH I'm so relieved to find this video!!!
At 5:45ish and 7:30 when you start gradually taking the guide length down the sides -- when you pull "up", is the pull angle STRAIGHT up to the ceiling or is the pull angle supposed to gently start "fanning outward" along the curve of the skull?
(The angle at 9:10 makes sense to me though -- just wanting to make sure I don't mess it up between point a and point b!)

Voice over wins by a mile! Many craftsmen with years of experience are making youtube videos and when they try to do it and explain it at the same time, live, a beginner get an overload of info because the expert try to explain so much at one time. It makes it harder to follow. I enjoyed this tutorial very much. Your model looked great afterwards.

Your audio was really good! I think a voice over is what you should be doing anyways. Use the original audio as a guide or as notes as to what you were thinking in that moment.
Your instructions were really clear and friendly to newbs like myself. Today my friend you instilled confidence and wisdom.

I love this tutorial! I have been using it on my husband for a couple months now, it's not perfect but it's getting better! Do you have any tips for perfecting the cowlick at the crown of the head? That area always turns out terrible because that section and towards the right where it goes, does not blend well at all. The way his head is shaped the clippers go right up to that area so it's clipped right to the cowlick making it very defined

Gracias por enseñar: uso de corte con maquina y tijera sobre peine. Solo uso tijera de corte unir los laterales. Sin necesidad usar tijera de texturizar. ❤😊

I have searched for 3 years now and here you are! My 10-year-old hair is identical to this young man's hair and I can not find tutorials true to his hair type. This is the style he likes and his hair is identical. Wavy in front, straight in back thick and heavy all around and the fringe is very heavy. I have been winging it but I always wonder if there's a better way to guage the front sides to blend it in. Now I know. He also has crazy caowlicks all over so his hair is a challenge but I've always ut it myself.

I started cutting my brother's hair and imagine he's 19 and is dating the most beautiful girl, my brother is so handsome but it isn't the point, my point is that he asked me to cut his hair once and now I'm his personal stylist. I already have 7 clients and this job thanks watching your videos, I thought this will be a good job to make money to pay for school and my parents said it's a good idea, my family know you're my teacher. I understand much better about the talents, you do well your job teaching people like me helping me to independent and helping my parents with my education. Thank you very much.
