I am over 70, and this band gave me back music. I have seen great bands in my day, Zeppelin, Black Sabbath. Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Mettalica, GNR, and more, but it has been decades since any band has been this good. These women are the real deal and the best rock/metal band out there today. They would have given many a band from yester year a run for their money. God that are GREAT in concert! I saw them last summer and they will knock you out with how incredibly amazing good they are. Everything you saw and heard right here and more! Great reaction by the way. I have subscribed and am looking to enjoy music with you!
Hey Howard, thanks so much for subscribing and listing of the bands you saw in the day. What a list! That is incredible. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
It's a shame you didn't have closed captions on because lyrically this is one of the most brutal breakup songs I've ever heard. You will probably get overwhelmed with views and comments regarding this band. Generally, a live performance is better than a MV. I've seen Band-Maid seven times now and they are the best band I've ever seen. I would recommend "Real Existence" live and "Puzzle" live. Roger Chance strikes again!
@@chattingtracks Welcome! Once you spend some time, maybe 10 songs in, you'll realize that this will be your favorite band. Between live videos, the acoustic songs, Band Maiko, the interviews, the background stories of early days and the formation of the band, the love they show for the fans and vice versa, and let's not forget omajinai time. There is so much for your eyes, ears, and heart in their 10 year history. Also, keep an eye on your wallet, they have lots of stuff you'll want. You'll also find out soon enough what a great fan base they have. Hopefully they'll come around to your neighborhood soon, they are a sight to see live. 🤘
@@jeffedwards9180 Oh, thanks for the reminder about wallet... I have to go and order some things in the new batch! O-MEI-SYU-SAMA goods will not buy themselves, right?
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up.
@@chattingtracks From Hammer magazine in 2016 when BAND MAID toured the UK. They’re Actually Good In the 18-song setlist there is never a dull moment that warrants a quick trip to the bar (not that you can even reach the bar, as everyone is packed in so tight). With three studio albums under their belt, there’s enough talent and experience amongst the quintet to blitz through the arena-sized anthems that swell and burst inside the dingy north London venue. And despite Band-Maid having never played a proper show in the UK before, a rather large portion of the crowd are singing along with every word - in English and Japanese. Down the front, men stand alongside teenage girls with their fists in the air and chanting along to their new favourite band. From the massive TH-cam hits of Real Existence and Thrill, to the bombastic chorus of Don’t Let Me Down, there’s a palpable energy in the air. Whether this popularity continues and the girls return to the UK is anyone’s guess, but sticking them on at a festival this summer would be a fantastic move. The full article is here!
You also need to realize that this was song #27 out of 33 during a 3 hr 45 min long concert featuring only themselves! No Opening acts! Endless energy and stamina!
It's not hyperbole when I say you could literally pick any song. Here are some good songs from Band Maid ( in no particular order): Honkai, brand new road, start over, order, alone, Arcadia girl, choose me, why why why, chemical reaction, don't apply the brake, shake that, glory, Beauty and the beast, don't you tell me, bubble, daydreaming, different, don't let me down, the nonfiction days, moratorium, cross, take me higher, time, secret my lips, fate, Rock in me, clang, turn me on, daydreaming, wonderland, bubble, the dragon cries, warning, blooming, no god, afterlife, hgk, Giovanni, from now on, corallium, influencer, shambles, before yesterday, I still seek revenge, freezer, reincarnation(rinne)
Wow, that’s a fantastic list. Thanks a lot. I want to find out more about it. Thanks so much for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
@@chattingtracks I also thought you could pick any song, until some days ago when they released "Bestie". So, now that fantastic record is broken for me. I thought it was boring. But anyhow, it is quite fantastic with a band that makes almost 100 songs and (almost) all are bangers. The all female heavy metal band Lovebites has the same hit rate. Not many have had that skill through music history.
Not only is it the tip of the Band Maid iceberg but it's also the tip of the Female Japanese Rock and Metal bands. Lovebites, Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Aldious, Bridear, Passcode, Mary's Blood to name a few and then elsewhere there's The Warning from Mexico and Voice Of Baceprot from Indonesia
It blew my mind, and that’s the first time I’ve ever seen them, and it won't be the last. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.
A short intro to the band Miku (Small Pigeon) - Rhythm Guitar, second vocals, Lyricist, Band founder Misa (The Barefoot Assassin) - Bass, beer and whiskey Akane (Gorilla) - Drums, Bananas or any food for that matter Kanami (Princess,Kanamincho or Mincho) - Lead Guitar, Genius composer, coffee and cakes Saiki (Ice Queen) - Lead Vocals, Mesmorizing stage performer Album recommendations - All of them.
I've seen them a couple of times now at festivals, they proper rock! Apart from some slightly slower ballads, their whole set has this energy. There's a lot of female Japanese metal bands, but these are one of the biggest and best.
Band-Maid is getting noticed in the rock & roll world. Jimmy Page gave Band-Maid's drummer, Akane, an in person compliment after a concert performance. Rod Stewart's US producer, Tony Visconti, recorded Band-Maid's song "The Dragon Cries". Zemaitis Guitars sponsors the Band's founder and rhythm guitarist, Miku. And they are getting many professional musicians reacting to their songs.
Thank you very much, and I’m so glad you enjoyed the reaction. They blew my mind, LOL. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance at the venue November last year. The show was mesmerizing throughout the 33-song setlist. Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Hello to Japan from the UK. Funny enough, I’m interviewing a jazz pianist at the end of the month, so make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss it. I love your journey, and thank you so so much for watching and for your comment; I really appreciate it :-)
There was English CCs for this. :) Most of their official videos have English subtitles. Granted, not all, but a majority of them do; especially the newer videos. Thanks!
Rock/Metal is not dead yet..They live in Japan nowadays..Band-Maid: 10 years and 120+ songs of pure greatness 🔥🤘❤️ Magical band, amazing musicians, wonderful people.
Rock is most certainly still alive in Japan but believe it or not, Band-Maid is not big in Japan. Band-Maid are more popular outside of Japan. Western Rock fans familiar with Band-Maid don't know much about the actual Japanese Rock bands that are popular in Japan. Bands like Alexandros, The Oral Cigarettes, Man With A Mission, One OK Rock, King Ngu, etc... are among big name Rock bands in Japan. What's interesting is that with the exception of maybe One OK Rock, most Western Rock fans have never heard of them.
Welcome to the Maids. I fell for them about 4 years ago. Not my style of music but watching them live is fascinating.. I enjoy the reactions. Especially from newbies who experience them for the first time. I had a feeling they were too good so I went to see them two years ago in Houston and a week later in New York. These girls are the real deal. They have great stage presence and they can replicate what you saw here. I’m almost 75 years old been to tons of concerts top name groups from 60’s until I seemed to lose interest in the main stream. These guys made me love music again. I actually dusted off my favorite guitar and started playing and writing again. I subscribed in the hope to watch your journey. The recommendations are good. Live performances better. The group is incredibly generous
Your reaction was a lot fun. Thanks. These girls have a lot of variety in their music, more punk than metal. For a variety, check out the Influencer and Blooming MVs, Corallium Live at Shibuya Eggman, and Puzzle Official Live Video.
As you can see Band-Maid shine when performing live ! Please check out "PLAY" Official Live or "Domination" Live for more jaw dropping performances ! Great Reaction =) Thanks Robbie Thanks Roger Y'all Rock
Welcome to the awesomeness that is Band-Maid! 120+ songs to choose from, pick any one (preferably a live performance) and prepare to get your mind blown.
I think this group is currently the best rock group. The bass and lead guitar are the best, as you can tell right away. Please also notice the greatness of the drums. Please also notice the wonderful harmony between the main vocalist and side guitarist. What's most amazing is that the main guitarist has composed over 130 songs, and the side guitarists have written most of the lyrics. There is no bad work among them. BAND-MAID has a wide variety of songs that you can really enjoy.🥰
They’ve become a whole New World. I’m enjoying walking around in. They are a fantastic band. How they are not well known is beyond me. Thanks for watching, and thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
I'll be the first one to say don't worry about the sub titles and concentrate on the music, however ... this song and "Endless Story" from the same concert are a must. These guys play many different genre's and are soooo good at whatever they play, write and perform. Band Maid truely deserve the recognition and exposure that Roger has been pushing for for a long time. He's a Champ. Maybe try "Don't You Tell Me" from the same concert - there's another guitar "Battle" haha. Then again ... pick anything - you can't go wrong - They ARE that good.
Thank you for responding to BAND MAID's song, I really enjoyed it. Many of the people who write comments love seeing people who are surprised when they hear BAND MAID songs for the first time, and of course I include them. So, it's your turn next.
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world. Cheers to our Band-Maid missionary Roger once again for spreading the awesomeness that is our Maids.
“An impossibly hard rocking maid band.” BAND-MAID, nicknames included: Saiki-lead singer; ‘Ice Queen’ Akane-drums; ‘Gorilla’ Misa-bass ‘The Barefoot Assassin’ Kanami-lead guitar, superb songwriter; ‘Mincho’ Miku-guitar, vocals, lyricist; ‘Small Pigeon’. Founded the band in 2013. Worked in a maid cafe where she came up with the idea of a band wearing maid clothes playing hard rock music. She didn’t know how to play guitar when the band started. Kanami taught her Misa, Kanami and Akane all started on piano between 3 and 4 years old. Saiki was working to be singer/dancer. Miku, well, she’s driven, extremely hard working and can drink more than anyone else in the band at only 5’1” (155 cm) tall. BM has over 160 videos.
Yes! These ladies are masters at their instruments: Kanami (Mincho) lead guitar, Akana (A-chan; Gorilla) on drums and Misa (the barefoot assassin) on bass. Then there is lead vocalist Saiki who is perfect for the Band Maid sound. And the last one Miku is our little pigeon 🕊: Pure energy, fantastic backing vocals and harmonies with Saiki, some wonderful lead vocal songs and these days very good on rhythm guitar ... she wasn't able to play the guitar in 2013 when she founded the band. I don't know of any other band where the fans' top song lists differ as much as Band Maid. This is just a (quite) random selection of songs: Special live: Freedom (Live), Play (Live), ... Hard rock: Moratorium (Live at Zepp), Rinne (MV), Dice (MV), ... Varied songs: Corallium (Live at Shibuya), Influencer (MV), ... Very chatchy chorus: Choose me (MV), Alone (MV), ... Ballads: About Us (MV), Daydreaming (MV), ... Instrumentals: From now on (MV), Onset (Live), ... Miku songs: Sayonakidory (also acoustic), Beauty and the Beast (sadly no good video), ... And finally a very special live performance: Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live)🍌 If you want to start at the beginning of their career (2013-2017): Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video), Alone (MV, first own composition), Freedom(best LIVE performance), Choose Me, Play (LIVE!), ... Have fun... Po
Turn on CC for English lyrics. I’ve seen them live three times so far. Their new single, BESTIE, is totally different and has 100% English lyrics. If you want to see five Japanese ladies playing killer Heavy Metal, you want LOVEBITES, HOLY WAR (live in 2021) - th-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/w-d-xo.html
If you liked that there are 120 other songs to choose from. Once you have a few MVs and Live rock songs under your belt there are other little pigeonholes to travel down. Band Maiko adds some traditional costume and instruments. There's the Acoustic Christmas concert and some other little treats here and there to find too. I hope you continue with these ladies. They have the Mexican band The Warning traveling to Japan to do a few shows with them next month. The Warning is another band you need to check out. The performed Evolve at the MTV music awards that was quite impressive.
Excellent. Thank you so much for the heads-up about the bands. I love it when people suggest new bands. That’s what this channel is all about: finding new music. Thanks so much for your comment, and thanks for watching. I really appreciate it.
Oh, fantastic. I bet that’s amazing. I’m going to do another one of their tracks really soon, thanks for watching. Thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it :-)
It’s always great when someone new is introduced to the greatness that is Band-maid. Love that you loved them!! They are the best musicians I have ever heard. You should check out “From Now On”. It’s one of their instrumental tracks and really showcases their talent.
Thanks for the reaction and comments. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! They have an extensive catalogue of amazing songs. Basic rule of thumb is to react to their official live videos first. Domination, Play!, Moratorium, Real Existence, Puzzle...are a small sampling of suggestions They also have some impressive instrumentals that really highlight their technical abilities: From Now On, Onset, Without Holding Back. If you prefer studio recordings, I'd check out Shambles, Blooming, Influencer, DIce or Manners. Cheers!
Elliott gave you some great tracks to review! “From now on” might be my favorite BAND-MAID song. But It’s impossible to choose! I’ll add just one more favorite: “Secret Maiko Lips” was released on April 1 as an April fools gift to the fans. It is a “Maiko” version of their song “Secret My Lips.” In Secret Maiko Lips the maids are wearing Maiko outfits and makeup. A Maiko is basically a young geisha in training. (There’s more to it than that, but you get the general idea.). Great song and a beautiful music video! Enjoy!
lol Roger strikes again! This band made me love music again. They are the best rock band this short century. That sounds like hyperbole, but once you're a handful of songs in, you'll at least say that's a credible opinion. And such a wide variety too. I suggest the similar Domination LIVE (not the MV), Choose Me MV, DICE MV, Play live, Freedom Live, Blooming MV, or search "Band-Maid Moratorium live Zepp Tokyo."
Thanks for the reaction! Well, this isn't a "five piece Japanese female band going around playing metal". Though, I think they might be the best pure rock band in the world. Saw them live, last August. Including this version of HATE?. Pure lighting and thunder. If you pick a BAND-MAID Music Video, maybe "Choose Me", "Dice" or "Blooming". If you *do* like a four or five piece Japanese female band going around playing metal, consider Lovebites. Or, Nemophila. Or Bridear, or Hagane. Going back in time a little, Telecide or Doll$Boxx. All high virtuosity bands, playing several different kinds of metal. Or... and this is my actual request as a new Subscriber!: consider Hanabie. I'm catching Hanabie live this month. ("We Love Sweets" or "Otaku Lovely Densetsu"). Big talent, and you *will* be entertained. I guarantee that.

If you look very carefully at the beginning of her solo he does one hybrid pluck on the bottom string while she pics the top ones just because there had to be that note there. She plays in so many different ways. Except the silly 10 string tapping stuff that has no place in rock. It means a lot that the band have been kind of adopted by "Mikey chan" Einziger of incubus (or probably the other way around). They shared a stage at the incubus gig a few nights ago to play a joint composition and during Kanami's solo Mike gets down on one knee before her and bows the head in homage. That's the first time kanami has allowed an outsider into the studio since they got total artistic control a few years back. They write, compose, arrange, produce, design artwork, costumes, and deal with the record company executives directly, as well as having Live Nation eating out of their hands for the tours in the USA, of which they've done three lately. They played a load of festivals including Lopalooza and Pointfest where they met incubus, all non Live Nation festivals just to show. The force of nature behind the band, lyricist and founder - the little cute one with the twin bunches and signature zemaitis guitar - miku kobato is a human dynamo, racehorse owner, vice champion of Japan at speed poker, in negotiations with the industry "she gets everything she asks for plus the wallets and carkeys of everyone there" the rest of the band say. They're really good at dividing responsibilities between the five of them, except MISA I think who just gets to dive deeper into the bass and develop her sense of mystery. I think the word for them is "organised" in a profound way, artistically, and professionally as well as just in their relationship with each other. The bassist and drummer have been playing together since they were teenagers (they're in their 30s now) and are joined at the hip onstage. By far and away the tightest rhythm section in the business these days. You need to hear "Different", "Black Hole" or "Corallium" for staggering speed, tightness and complexity, but more melodic than this song which is supposed to be some kind of curse. I think every time they play it some cheating worm gets sick and de-alives. They do darkness very well but can be very uplifting, making anthems for those kids trapped in their bedrooms to lure them out. The MVs of "Blooming" and "Shambles" are like that and are a couple of performance and production diamonds. Blooming in particular is the one song that is better in the MV. Otherwise official lives are the way to go. As you can see here - they own the room however big or small for the entire performance, nearly 4hrs in this case. .
You should have put on the CC. The lyrics really show her "Hate". They do have a song that's entirely in English back before they wrote their own material, called 'Don't Let Me Down', but that's really dirty. But BAND-MAID consider themselves to be Hard Rock, though Metal is among their many influences. They have so many different songs you can't Pigeon Hole them. You'll get that later. So dive deep and check out all the different kinds of BAND-MAID music out there. In the last 10 years they've put out well over a 100 songs and counting many with OMVs or OLVs.
Kanami's fingers can hit more notes per second than nearly my entire music collection, ever. She is in the fastest league up there with Van Halen, Metallica, and Jane's addiction. Except Kanami somehow also shreds onions.
She’s a fantastic player. Hopefully, she’ll finally get the world recognition she deserves. Thanks for watching, and thanks for coming. I really appreciate it. :-)
Hey Chris, thanks for the subscription, and welcome to the channel. They’re a band that blew my mind, lol. I will do a different band in the same genre next week. Thanks so much for watching, and thanks for coming. I really appreciate it. :-)

The female metal scene in Japan is better than the majority of the male metal bands in the West! Band-Maid is more on the hard rock side, only occasionally stepping into the metal realm. For some top tier true metal (female) bands in Japan, check out LOVEBITES, Nemophila, Hanabie, Aldious, Fate Gear, Bridear, Mary's Blood, Hagane, Trident, Lonesome Blue, Broken by the Scream, just to name a few.
@@chattingtracks I look forward to it! And don't get me wrong, you should definitely also stay on the Band-Maid journey! They may not be metal most of the time, but they are about the best hard rock band on the planet right now!
Welcome Master TCTMC to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. You were recruited by Master Roger Chance to experience the Awesomeness known as Band-Maid. Love your reaction and breakdown. Enjoy the ride....only 120+ awesome songs to go. 👍 Their portfolio is deep and diverse. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. LOL, they’re a fantastic band, and I’ve enjoyed their stuff. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for reaching out. I really appreciate it. :-)
Now, if you turn on the closed captioning in English, you'll realize the lyrics are brutal and funny!!!!! This is the best "F*** Off" song I have heard in a long time. How many bass/ lead guitar "conversation/duels" do you see in rock?
I Love the Maids. The 5 Band-Maid members are: SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock front women... or front men! MIKU Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR Spokes Pigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. KANAMI Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want is more! AKANE Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Any Maids serving (as they call concerts) ROCKS!!! Try Thrill the track that blew them up on the world stage, Freedom, Onset, From now on, there all great, live is even better
Wow, thanks so much for the fantastic breakdown of the band. All I know of the band is the tracks I've heard. Thank you so much for the tips. I’ll check those tracks out. Thanks for watching, and thanks for commenting. I really appreciate it. :-)
I would suggest 'Freedom' or 'Don't You Tell Me' official live videos. Most Maidiacs as we fans call ourselves will say they are better live and I agree, they are much better live. Some of their music videos are great too like Warning. If you want to see where it all started 10 years ago react to 'Thrill' music video. Welcome to Band-Maid.
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
That is a beautiful breakdown of the band. Thank you so much for the phonetic pronunciation of their names; I’m looking into another Japanese band soon, so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks for your comment, and thanks for watching. I really appreciate it :-)
“Hate?” Is definitely not my favorite Band Maid song. And I am certainly a mad fan. However, that’s the way it goes when the Maids release so much variety. There’s no way one person could love every song. They are just so wildly different. Band Maid is setting the standard for rock composition and execution. No other band has their sonic variety or shapeshifting style. It impossible to understand what the Maids do unless you’ve listened to 10-15 of their songs. Take your time. Take your pick: “DICE,” OMV Hair metal-style hard rock “Blooming,” OMV Post hardcore punk progressive rock “Don’t you tell ME,” official live. Classic, driving rock style with another bass/guitar duel “From Now On,” OMV heavy metal progressive instrumental “Domination,” official live. Arena pop rock where everybody solos “Puzzle,” official live. Progressive, jazz influenced, AC/DC influenced cinematic rock “Manners,” funk rock, early 2000’s alternative “About Us,” smooth, rhythmic slow jam ballad They are going on 11 years, soon to release their 8th studio album. 120+ songs. You have a lot to catch up on ❤ 🤘🏽
This song isn't over until Miku (rhythm guitar & backing vocals) does that spin. (LOL) Some song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, Rinne, Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back, About Us, Play, Why Why Why, Clang, Matchless Gum, Endless Story, and both versions (live and video) of Don't You Tell Me. They have a catalog of over one hundred great songs. If you are not fond of one then choose another because it will be much different than the one before it and the next one to follow. Have fun with it!
Oh, thank you so much for the track listing. I’ll check those out. Gonna make a new video soon as it’s been a while. Thanks for watching, and thanks for coming. I really appreciate it. It helps me out. :-)
Thank you so much for subscribing. They are a fantastic band. They are a breath of fresh air. Thanks for watching and for your comment. It really means a lot. :-)
It's funny, in your Chapter links you mention "Play" Reaction and "Play" Review. Play just happens to be the title of another Band-Maid Classic live video that prominently features MISA on bass. You unfortunately don't get to see the actual transition she makes when swapping between picking and slapping by tucking the pick under her forefinger but you can easily hear the difference and can see her both slapping and picking in the Official live. MISA isn't your typical bass player and often gets her time to shine in their songs.
She’s fantastic. They’re all just outstanding players, and it’s an amazing song. Thanks so much for watching, and thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it. :-)

Thanks so much. I’m thrilled you enjoyed the video, and I’ll take a look at that band. If you can get as many people as you can to subscribe, that would be amazing, so when the video drops, you’ll all be ready. Thanks for your comment, and thanks for watching. I really appreciate it:-)

Excellent, thanks for the tip. I love it when people suggest new music. That’s what this channel is all about. Thanks for your comment. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. :-)
🤣🤣🤣 What a sheltered life you've led 😉 Band Maid are just one of MANY Japanese all female Rock and Metal bands . Just some of the others worth checking out - LOVEBITES NEMOPHILA HANABIE EAST OF EDEN GACHARIC SPIN TRIDENT BRIDEAR DESTROSE BABYMETAL the list is almost endless and the above are only a very few worth checking out . Where possible I'd suggest doing live performances if available - most of these bands are as good and usually better live . ENJOY !
Did you hear Miku (the second vocalist) say at the end of the chorus "Why don't you try to understand me?"? Yeah... exactly..... turn on the SUBTITLES dude!!! Now try watching this video again while paying attention to the lyrics. Quite a different dimension added, don't you think? Try it and feel free to revel in the absolutely snippy lyrics of this song. Yeah, no one will disagree with your assessment that the instrumentals are thoroughly amazing.
Unfortunately, I downloaded it without the lyrics. I'll take a real look to see what I’ve missed. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
@@chattingtracks Have fun! The lyrics of the song are not typical of Band-Maid as it's usually the rhythm guitarist, Miku, who writes the lyrics for most other songs, but this one was written by the lead singer Saiki. She certainly sent the message clearly in no uncertain terms 🤣
My favorite rock band since the Beatles. Thanks for checking them out! 160+ songs to go, no duds.
Well, that might take me a while to get through, LOL. Thanks for coming, and thanks for watching. I really appreciate it :-)
THE best Hard Rock band on Earth. Think that covers everything.
That is too true, lol. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
Every Maidiac has a special place in their hearts on permanent reserve for BAND-MAID. Welcome to the Pigeon hole.
Thanks, I'm glad to be here, lol. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
I've got a bad heart but i've always kept a special place for BAND-MAID in the good bit.😁
@GaryHolloway-810 Evening Gary San.

@GaryHolloway-810 you scanning old comments for some you missed?.😁
Absolutely love this band!
There is magic. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
I am over 70, and this band gave me back music.
Yeah! Do listen to it again with lyrics on. That dude! He is hiding under a rock now.
Thanks for the tip. They are my new favourite band, lol. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
@@chattingtracks Welcome!
They are fantastic. I've discovered a new world; thanks for watching and your comment it means a lot :-)
@@chattingtracks From Hammer magazine in 2016 when BAND MAID toured the UK.
They’re Actually Good
In the 18-song setlist there is never a dull moment that warrants a quick trip to the bar (not that you can even reach the bar, as everyone is packed in so tight).

The best live rock band on the planet...maybe ever!
They are fantastic. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
Welcome to the fandom! BTW - they usually have english subtitles with the CC button
I did not know that (I'm so old, lol), LOL. Thank you so much for watching. Thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it :-)
You also need to realize that this was song #27 out of 33 during a 3 hr 45 min long concert featuring only themselves! No Opening acts! Endless energy and stamina!
That’s amazing. I’ll get worn out picking stuff off the floor, LOL. Thanks for thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. :-)
It's not hyperbole when I say you could literally pick any song.
Here are some good songs from Band Maid ( in no particular order):
Honkai, brand new road, start over, order, alone, Arcadia girl, choose me, why why why, chemical reaction, don't apply the brake, shake that, glory, Beauty and the beast, don't you tell me, bubble, daydreaming, different, don't let me down, the nonfiction days, moratorium, cross, take me higher, time, secret my lips, fate, Rock in me, clang, turn me on, daydreaming, wonderland, bubble, the dragon cries, warning, blooming, no god, afterlife, hgk, Giovanni, from now on, corallium, influencer, shambles, before yesterday, I still seek revenge, freezer, reincarnation(rinne)
They mix japanese and English in most songs. Killer band live.
I am so glad I found them. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
Not only is it the tip of the Band Maid iceberg but it's also the tip of the Female Japanese Rock and Metal bands. Lovebites, Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Aldious, Bridear, Passcode, Mary's Blood to name a few and then elsewhere there's The Warning from Mexico and Voice Of Baceprot from Indonesia
Wow, that’s a lot to get through. Thank you so much for the tip. I really appreciate you watching and commenting. :-)
Hard Rock saviours = Band-Maid

Truth!
Good on so many levels it's almost unbelievable.
It blew my mind, and that’s the first time I’ve ever seen them, and it won't be the last. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.
A short intro to the band
Miku (Small Pigeon) - Rhythm Guitar, second vocals, Lyricist, Band founder
Misa (The Barefoot Assassin) - Bass, beer and whiskey
Akane (Gorilla) - Drums, Bananas or any food for that matter
Kanami (Princess,Kanamincho or Mincho) - Lead Guitar, Genius composer, coffee and cakes
Saiki (Ice Queen) - Lead Vocals, Mesmorizing stage performer
Album recommendations - All of them.
Haha, fantastic. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)

I think I already am, lol. Thanks, I'll take a look. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
I've seen them a couple of times now at festivals, they proper rock! Apart from some slightly slower ballads, their whole set has this energy.
There's a lot of female Japanese metal bands, but these are one of the biggest and best.
You lucky beggar LOL
Band-Maid is getting noticed in the rock & roll world. Jimmy Page gave Band-Maid's drummer, Akane, an in person compliment after a concert performance. Rod Stewart's US producer, Tony Visconti, recorded Band-Maid's song "The Dragon Cries". Zemaitis Guitars sponsors the Band's founder and rhythm guitarist, Miku. And they are getting many professional musicians reacting to their songs.
From what little I've seen, they deserve it. They’re a fantastic band. Thanks for your comment, and thanks for watching. It means a lot :-)
Welcome to BAND-MAID world!

(Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz".
Thanks!
Oh, thanks so much for the tip. Either way, it all worked for me, LOL. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.
@@chattingtracks too bad you didn't realize about the CCs though. This song is one of the most savage break up/diss track I've heard ;)
@rogerchance9074 okay Roger ... looks like you need a challenge : get Justin Hawkins or Beato to check out "Hate?" ;)
@@NomadFlow Yep. So true.
Fantastic, I’ll check all those bands out and maybe react to more of them. Thanks for your comment, and thanks for watching. I really appreciate it.
They are a fantastic band. I can’t wait to dig more into the catalogue. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.
I'm so pleased their music did that for you; you're still rocking. Thanks for your comment and for watching :-)

Remember Rock n' Roll? Here it is! 😎🤘
Damm right; thanks for watching. Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it. :-)
They are fantastic, man. I enjoyed their music. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.
Thank you for responding to BAND MAID's song, I really enjoyed it. Many of the people who write comments love seeing people who are surprised when they hear BAND MAID songs for the first time, and of course I include them. So, it's your turn next.

“An impossibly hard rocking maid band.”
BAND-MAID, nicknames included:
Saiki-lead singer; ‘Ice Queen’
Akane-drums; ‘Gorilla’
Misa-bass ‘The Barefoot Assassin’
Kanami-lead guitar, superb songwriter; ‘Mincho’
Miku-guitar, vocals, lyricist; ‘Small Pigeon’. Founded the band in 2013. Worked in a maid cafe where she came up with the idea of a band wearing maid clothes playing hard rock music. She didn’t know how to play guitar when the band started. Kanami taught her
Misa, Kanami and Akane all started on piano between 3 and 4 years old.
Saiki was working to be singer/dancer.
Miku, well, she’s driven, extremely hard working and can drink more than anyone else in the band at only 5’1” (155 cm) tall.
BM has over 160 videos.
They are such an exciting band. Thanks for the history, for watching, and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
Nice work Roger! I have seen them live twice, my favorite shows ever! Love Band-Maid, check out more!
I definitely will do that; thanks for watching and for your comment. It means a lot :-)
This is just a (quite) random selection of songs:
Special live: Freedom (Live), Play (Live), ...
And finally a very special live performance: Manners/Blackhole (Official Online Live)🍌
If you want to start at the beginning of their career (2013-2017): Thrill (MV, their first video), Real Existence (second video), Alone (MV, first own composition), Freedom(best LIVE performance), Choose Me, Play (LIVE!), ...
Have fun... Po
Thanks for the list. I’ll check that out. Thanks so much for commenting and watching. I really appreciate it. :-)

It’s always great when someone new is introduced to the greatness that is Band-maid. Love that you loved them!! They are the best musicians I have ever heard. You should check out “From Now On”. It’s one of their instrumental tracks and really showcases their talent.
Thanks, I’ll check that one out. I'm delighted you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
Thanks for the reaction and comments. Cheers!
Wow, thanks so much for the tip. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for coming, and thanks for watching. I appreciate it. :-)
Fantastic, I'll take a look 👀 Thanks for watching and your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
@rogerchance9074 🍾congratulations!🎉
Mighty impressive, good sir.
Thanks so much for the tip I'll take a look, and they rock. Thanks for the comment and for watching. It means a lot :-)

No God (official LIVE version) from Tokyo Gardens Theatre to get a sample of the bass player's abilities
Oh, cool, thanks for the tip. I’ll check that out. Thanks for the comment and for watching. I really appreciate it.
@@chattingtracks Her ability to use a pick and slap without losing the pick is legendary.
Unfortunately, I downloaded it about the subtitles, but they are a fantastic band. Thanks for thanks for coming. I really appreciate it. :-)
New sub here! As far as I am concerned BandMaid is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century!
Hey Chris, thanks for the subscription, and welcome to the channel. They’re a band that blew my mind, lol. I will do a different band in the same genre next week. Thanks so much for watching, and thanks for coming. I really appreciate it. :-)

Thanks for the history. I'm discovering more and more. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
FYI, you have 'Play' as the song in the chapters i/o 'Hate!' 😜
Excellent, thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.
English lyrics, you say? New video 'Bestie" Or, if you are daring, 'Don't Let Me Down' OMV
Fantastic, I'll check that out. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
It's funny how almost no one turns on the close captions so that they can follow along with a rough translation of the lyrics. 😏
You’re absolutely right, LOL. Thanks for coming. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it. :-)
Shhhh....you never interrupt Kanami and MISA when they are shredding.
I have been told lol 😆
The female metal scene in Japan is better than the majority of the male metal bands in the West! Band-Maid is more on the hard rock side, only occasionally stepping into the metal realm. For some top tier true metal (female) bands in Japan, check out LOVEBITES, Nemophila, Hanabie, Aldious, Fate Gear, Bridear, Mary's Blood, Hagane, Trident, Lonesome Blue, Broken by the Scream, just to name a few.
Thanks for the tip. I'll check those out. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
@@chattingtracks I look forward to it!
Fantastic, lol. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
Thanks lol
I Love the Maids. The 5 Band-Maid members are:
SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.
Welcome home!
Glad to be here. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the tip. I'll check that out; thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
Absolute fire! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They’re really great… Thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
It's neo dark surf rock I'd say. Surfing the fukushima tsunami - "meltdown".
That's fair, lol. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band.
Take your pick:
“DICE,” OMV Hair metal-style hard rock
“Blooming,” OMV Post hardcore punk progressive rock
“Don’t you tell ME,” official live. Classic, driving rock style with another bass/guitar duel
“From Now On,” OMV heavy metal progressive instrumental
“Domination,” official live. Arena pop rock where everybody solos
“Puzzle,” official live. Progressive, jazz influenced, AC/DC influenced cinematic rock
“Manners,” funk rock, early 2000’s alternative
“About Us,” smooth, rhythmic slow jam ballad
They are going on 11 years, soon to release their 8th studio album. 120+ songs. You have a lot to catch up on ❤ 🤘🏽
I definitely will; thanks for the tip, for watching, and for your comment. It means a lot :-)
Just to let you know, that video you were watching did have optional English subtitles available. You just had to turn them on. :-)
I downloaded them without them, lol. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it
This song isn't over until Miku (rhythm guitar & backing vocals) does that spin. (LOL)
Some song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, Rinne, Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back, About Us, Play, Why Why Why, Clang, Matchless Gum, Endless Story, and both versions (live and video) of Don't You Tell Me.
🤘Love Band Maid!!!!🤘 Checkout their song "Play" Live... If you're still hooked, we will suggest about 20 to 30 more for you.
Will do, thank for watching and the comment, I really appreciate it :-)
Glad you liked them. We think they're pretty good too. Subbed.
🤘🤘🤘
they totally rock LOL
Great reaction. Kudos for noticing the hard stop. Some more great lives are:

Next - the best heavy metal band out there today - another 5-piece female Japanese band: Lovebites - try “Holy War (live)” 🤘🎸🐺
Just some of the others worth checking out -
LOVEBITES
NEMOPHILA
HANABIE
EAST OF EDEN
GACHARIC SPIN
TRIDENT
BRIDEAR
DESTROSE
BABYMETAL
the list is almost endless and the above are only a very few worth checking out . Where possible I'd suggest doing live performances if available - most of these bands are as good and usually better live .
ENJOY !

Cool fact. BAND-MAID doesn't strike reaction. No need to pause if you don't want to.
I just had to, lol. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it :-)
I hope you check out the lyrics, they are prime verbal abuse.
I will do now, lol; thanks for the comment and watching it means a lot to me :-)
Did you hear Miku (the second vocalist) say at the end of the chorus "Why don't you try to understand me?"? Yeah... exactly..... turn on the SUBTITLES dude!!!
@rogerchance9074 the goat band maid recommender
Well done Roger….
