    In this video I replace the diesel fuel injector nozzles. We replaced the original SD240 nozzles with SD314. The effect is a noticeable increase
    in off-idle pull away torque. This is especially evident in the hilly area around here. Being able to pull up a hill in 3rd gear without shifting down to 2nd is pretty nice.
    Parts:
    Firad Injector Nozzle (SD 314)

    Awesome that you're making these vids, as I've aquired a 84 300sd that is pretty much identical to yours a few months ago. Mine is needing pretty much everything yours is, and I just got new injector nozzles a couple days ago that I plan on doing soon.... so good timing, thanks!

    Love your vids! Be sure to replace those air cleaner mounts lol. If u wanna see a cheap way to make long lasting air cleaner mounts, i can make a vid

      The air cleaner mount is a brand new Mercedes part and the rubber mounts are new as well. The engine was running pretty rough because the fuel system was not fully primed yet. I will say this however: After replacing the breather mount just recently (I did not video it), I've noticed that it jiggles around a little more than it did before. Suspect a difference in the quality of the rubber.

      Dude you were right. LMAO.... I just went out to check and two of those brand new rubber mounts were broken. I had spares and I replaced them. The spares are Meyle and the ones that broke are CRP. Lesson learned. Breather running smooth again !

      😂😂 Yeah I had to buy a new bracket.

      Mine has been shaking pretty bad. Found that it had either fatigue cracked off the bracket or the last owner may have intentionally broke it when he was rebuilding the injection pump and couldn't get the bracket past the oil line to the turbo. I just welded the bracket back together and bent the oil line out of the way to get it back together.

      @@ImpalamansGarage What are you talking about?! Even if I had any money I just don't think I want to do that kind of work on a car any more. Besides I have a MB I have to spend money on constantly just to keep it going.
      Your car is practically a tank but mine is made from plastic tinker toys.
      I just ordered a salvaged dome light for about $60. I checked with the dealer once. They wanted $600! $1200 for the rear sun shade.
      Luckily I don't have to commute to work and put a lot of miles on it. It's already at 150k.

    I just found out actually 6.2 mm injectior nossles are the best size for any om617 motor, also turning your adla to low fuel as possible meaning zero black smoke is the best set up along with the adjustment two fuel nuts loosened and turn valve sliders on the holding pump output valves all the way up and back off 5mm will open this engine up fast take off, fast top speeds, zero coal smoke, and if you set boost over valve to hard to push in with fingers , and bypass your egr valve✨🎗️🥇🏆🏆🏆🎄

    • @ImpalamansGarage

      I disabled EGR valve a while back. Can you elaborate on the boost valve?

  • @jackorlando7
    @jackorlando7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Before you install the five injectors, you should adjust them correctly on the recommended pressure, now how can you be sure some of them are not leaking, and latter you got damaged cylinder?

  • @tydale8629

    did this have new engine mounts?

    • @ImpalamansGarage
      @ImpalamansGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. To be perfectly honest it was not until just recently that I found out that old/bad engine shocks will make you think the engine is missing. Makes a lot of sense really. I plan to replace them very soon. I had the engine mounts off a while back and thoroughly examined them. They looked fine but no way to tell when they were replaced so I will do them too.

    You really should have lapped the mating surfaces in the injectors as they will most likely start to leak

    I'd say you air intake isn't connected to all 3 rubber mounts. Maybe not even one.

      If you saw a rattily breather you would be correct!! I had to replace the breather bracket later on.😁

      @@ImpalamansGarage Did it crack from vibration? It looks like mine cracked at 1 of the three connections. Not sure if that is a common failure or indicative of bad engine mounts. Engine mounts is not something I want to mess with unless absolutely necessary.
