I really enjoyed the way he broke it down. He gave us the methods to his Madness (Genius). He doesn’t just randomly play, he’s playing actual well though out patterns (notes) and reasons each dynamic of the particular part of the kit he’s playing. He’s actually BETTER than I thought he was the first time I happened on this channel. Bravo 👏 👏👏🙌 Thanks for sharing this one!!! 🥁!
I think this gives a whole lot of insight to his actual knowledge of the instrument and what goes into creating some of these ideas he has and shuts down those who constantly criticize him saying he’s just a one trick pony.
He has mastered the instrument and I love his humility. He explains everything that he does with clarity, matched by his execution. Great video. Thanks.
I love watching this guy play. He's so good it looks easy and he's so smooth. It's like drumming was programmed into his brain like a woodpecker pecks naturally. In almost any sport or talent, I've never seen anything like it.
I think this guy understands music and sound on another level then most people. He reminds me a lot of Maynard and Trent Reznor. They just put music together in a different but amazing way
So so true! In my opinion has a real ear for how a melody comes together and his timing is impeccable. I say a real ear because it's not something that can be taught. He feels it while he's hearing it. Amazing voice.
I am a long time drummer. Really I started in 1977! And I am as impressed as you and everyone else are. This man is just on another level. And your facial expressions mimic my own. Why do we even try when there are dudes like this out there. Because we love drums, but dammit man. It just does not seem fair. But you gotta love it, and be inspired or just quit! That man makes you question what you are actually playing for. Must be personal enjoyment I think because damn!
Me too. I started in 1977 at 6 years old sitting in with my Dad's drummer and replicating his patterns. This guy makes me wonder how I ever thought I was a pretty good drummer and want to dive deeply into some music styles I've never really been exposed to. I guess we play for the fun - if I compared myself to someone like this I'd drop the sticks and never look back. Lol
This man is a complete skilled Monster on drums and a down to earth person that don't mind teaching and sharing his concepts and theory of drum playing and different formats and situations when playing different styles of music, and another thing, he's not big headed like most drummers I known that's from past engagements to today. "A Drumming Skilled Beast".
So elocuent explained! And remember: English is not his mother tongue. Some years ago could not speak a word of English. Genius, so gifted, at the same time so humble!
Yes I LOVE El Estepario Siberaino! I LOVE how he breaks stuff down like he would hold one and do something with one hand and then 2 and he would play something with his other hand and so on and so forth... Oh how i love it! When ever you said he looks soo relaxed i can see it he has to think about what hes doing, even tho he is great i can still tell...
This is what you can create with time, patience and a good amount of natural talent. There's an interview with him where he states that he spent every waking hour of every day of the pandemic practicing and dammit it shows!
I have never heard anyone drum like this! Such smooth transitions and the sound of his drums are top notch. I think he is the absolutely in the top 1%, just my opinion. Thanks for the video
Watching El play is incredible. Getting an insight into his musical thinking is equally awesome. You would never guess how much he knows from how he usually talks. He is so humble. Truly an inspiration. And yeah an incredible performer and marketer and it's all so genuine. I'm floored.
Wow! This man is a BEAST. I love the way he breaks it down - it isn't all that difficult to play slowly if you can feel the beat and count it out, but damn!!!! The latin beats and time changes are something I need to explore and spend time with. His knowledge of drumming and execution is absolutely ridiculous. Great video - thank you for sharing. New to your channel and subscribed.
This is really good the way that he breaks down this solo. It is amazing how something so simple can sound so complex when sped up. Thank you for this review, I agree completely with you.
I love watching him play. Followed him since January. Also a humble human being. His heroes are Brazilian meggahitMonsters! I say that with the utmost love and respect 🙏. Listening to who Jorge considers above him, was an amazing experience. Can't remember the title. Heck just watch everything he's posted. You won't regret it!
I don't play drums at all, but I am fascinated by his drumming. This guy is from another planet where he is the best drummer and came here to find competition.
for a guy who claims to know no theory or read music, or know rudiments, he has a very good and full understanding of poly rhythms, traditional Latin groove idioms, and every technical nueance that makes music, and HIS playing so incredible. I can see that he would be [is] an excellent teacher despite his self deprecating nature. His humility is as amazing as his playing. Yes Colby, the dude DOES no what he is doing. Love this guy. Doing the 4/4 6/8 over lay isn't that difficult as long as you establish a constant for the note count as in the 4 or quarter note in 4/4 and the 8 or eighth note in the 6/8 as he does in his left foot on the hi hat. It is actually a lot of fun going back and forth from different time signatures IF you have a constant like he has established with his left foot. I wrote an arrangement of Chick Corea's Spain and La fiesta that does that, it goes back and forth from the 4/4 Spain rhythm to the 6/8 (3/4) rhythm of La Fiesta. Great that he can illustrate that so well.
Hello..first of all I'm impressed that you have gone to nearly full screen on your "guests"..nice job...secondly,I thoroughly enjoy your videos!! Great job!!
I've been a fan of him since day 1of me finding out about him, cause he drums the way I like to. I love all the fill he adds. He's a beast on the drums. And he's brilliant. This video goes to show that exactly. It's awesome the way he breaks it all down. Love it. In the top 5 of the drum gods for sure
Wow! Real musician work! Thank you so much for putting the programmers in the bin! I was so upset. It's been let's pretend for years now. God bless you!!!!!
I've never played drums. Trombone and piano are my instruments. But I find this guy so damn entertaining and informative. Simply fascinatingly brilliance !
My man you are amazing you was born to be a drummer you make it look so easy and being a drummer myself i know its not some of the stuff you do i just shake my head i know how much practice it takes to be at your level one of the best if not love talent and your ate up with it thanks for want you do
i don't think i could play this as fast as i used to.......meanwhile half the drummers trying this are now missing an eye....this guy is simply amazing on the drums
what a master , a drummer that is one in a million. he's a rare species dude. there are a lot of excellent drummers that we know and famous but this one is the master of them all. he's drumming style is unique and not boring. The GodFather of dummers!!!
Honestly, I'd say most likely one in a billion. There cannot be more than a few hundred drum savants like Siberiano is. The level of coordination between the brain and each limb SEPARATELY is just impossible to understand. I would love to see fMRI used on him and on another, more average level drummer to see how differently their brains light up.
I don't play any instruments, but if I did play drums I think I would have thrown them away after watching him. I like the way you explain when you see him doing. Keep it up.
Yes, he's a drrrrrum scientist. Very high placing (this of course is no drum expert's opinion). Also a person that transcends the instrument's boundaries to other realms. Plus, humble and more. Admirable.
Colby, the man practice's 10x more than any other drummers I know combined!(multi-tasking + the difference in coordination!) somebody should tell him they're called paradiddles. He blows me away on how upper echilon he is above anyone and even myself!
This is his Kung foo I am a bass player learning drums to help my bass playing, but have found, I love the drums equal to bass, so happy to live in a time where great music is able to be watched.
So, this is the guy who says he does not know anything about music. Makes everybody else feel so dumb 😮. Super entertaining. Super technical. And he explains it all, not only a great musician, but a passionate teacher
Jorge Garrido is El Estepario Siberiano's real name. Before he got all this recognition online he used to be the drummer for a heavy metal band called Saratoga where he then went by the name of Siberian Steppe. (went from Siberian Steppe to Siberiano)🤷🏼♂️
He has practiced and practiced to the point where he said, if people would practice what they love (drums in this case) the world would be a better place. I happen to agree.
How great would it be just to hang out at his place and talk drums all day? The guy is a virtuoso. Plain and simple. How does his brain process all of this information so quickly and at the same time so precisely. His videos are just so stream of consciousness it's amazing. Oh, and BTW he's doing it all in his second language!!!! Damn!
I used to think nobody would ever be faster than Peter Criss, he was in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the fastest hand speed clocked at 88 mph. ( I believe I’m remembering that correctly) I obviously was wrong 🤘🏻🔥💥🙏🏻
I went to his site, what a cool guy. He let's you into his life and story as well as his home. He practices like a monster since he was 12. TH-cam gives him 0 for his videos.
At one point, you said that he's an entertainer. You're right, and to play poly-rythyms, vocal phrasing helps with that in songs but on solos you just have to decide where that junction is.
I would love to know his internal 'clock' that can keep up with these VERY DIFFICULT rhythms in his head. He is thinking ahead of the next transition while playing the current rhythm. I believe he is ONE OF A KIND. I have NEVER heard anyone like him. Thanks for sharing this dude with all of us.

Musically, the dude lives in his own planet.
I remember using record players as a kid with 16/33/45/78 rpm switches. Mr Siberiano sounds like a Chipmunk record on 78 instead 33 1/2 rpm. Way way fast, amazing.
You guys so good. It's hard to break it down. Just have to sit behind the drums and use your imagination and come up with something that you feel comfortable with man that's awesome!
You're right, he's more than just a drummer, he's a performer, full of charm and charisma. He's just such a dude!!!
I agree wholeheartedly. He's real, that is what interested me in his drumming. That and the fact that he puts his spin on every genre.
I agree whole heartedly with @rush714 but the thing I never hear about EES is his timing. My God I can't even fathom it.
Idol Colby is good looking in this video.😉
