What makes it even scarier is the fact that quite often these drivers when they do cause an accident will then turn around and blame it on the other driver who is innocent.

I saw 6:27 on Ozbargain, the guy was trying to claim he (or his 'mate' rather, lol) wasn't at fault for pulling out blind and when that didn't work he deleted the footage link... surprised he submitted it.

Dash cam sees a lot less than the eye especially in the dark, they'd have seen them from a lot farther away

.Either he was a nut case with a suicide mission or some other major problems. I hate the way the newer cars on low beam seem to have a definite line at the end of visibility. I use high beam whenever I can, especially out in the country where this was.

With the size of A pillars in modern cars, it's easy to see how people can pull out in front of oncoming traffic. One of our cars has A pillars easily big enough to hide a whole oncoming car at a round-a-bout.

A lot of the dashcam owners need to be checking their own driving first before judging the others around them. At least a quarter of these videos were only actually dangerous because the dashcam owner was either speeding or failing to drive according to their surroundings.
Society: "We have road rules, they keep things orderly and safe"
Hiace Drivers: "Nah, not a fan"

7:26 cam car is flying, going 86 after already putting his brakes on in an 80 zone.
And cranky that he had to slow down. Other driver had time to enter the road safely, although it was borderline.
@@Laurielism Clearly, the other driver did NOT have time to enter the road safely as the DC driver had to brake to avoid a collision (Yes, the DC driver was speeding but that is all the more reason for the other driver to give way.)
@@AnotherDoug entering safely doesn't mean other cars don't have to slow at an intersection. Rules don't really seem clear on the amount of distance to give wyy safely on a slip lane. If you can find something I'd be interested. But he had room to enter safely without causing a collision. DC Dude made no effort to change until he HAD to brake hard.
@@Laurielism The rules are silent on distance because it is left to every driver to determine what is "safe" - that is, to avoid a collision. If another driver has to brake for you when you join a road or change a lane then you have NOT entered safely.
There is also no rule that requires you to slow when entering an intersection. Again, it is about doing it safely.
Yes, in this incident, the DC driver is also at fault for travelling over the speed limit. Personally, I would not be travelling at 80km/h in the kerbside lane where traffic can enter unsafely - but this road design allows it.

I thought the same. It was a 60 zone, so i doubt he was speeding, he gave way and indicated properly, didnt cross solid lines. I cant think of a single thing he did wrong

I drive down that road often, a lot of road trains go down there & you always have to look ahead for parked trucks & stuff, it's just a matter of looking down the road & giving people room, driver curtesy goes a long way unless you want the big trucks to take up the inside lane all the time & a few do just for that reason, they should have known the truck would have wanted to do that & kept back, especially if they're local.

I would like to know what goes through suicidal people's head that they're willing to traumatize some poor driver for the rest of their life because they can't do it themselves. Luckily that driver swerved out of the way, the next person might not have been so lucky.

Suicidal people don't care about others. They only got one thing on their minds and that is killing themselves. I've been down that path before.
Some people simply want to end themselves quickly without considering what it does to others, but sadly some people are so angry that they want to take others down with them.
If it was a railway line, it would be worse. Ask any train driver who has experienced such a thing. As we all know, road vehicles at least have some chance to stop or swerve to avoid danger - but trains can do neither.

7:23 happened in front of my bus along Malvern Rd one night. Car was parked between me and the stop one of my passengers wanted, indicating right. Assuming he just was waiting for me to get past then he’d move off, I flashed telling him to go, giving me more room to get my back end against the curb. Instead of simply moving off and continuing down the street, they did an illegal u turn and got t boned by a 4x4 beside me.
I am so confused on how some people just decide if they want to run the red or not to. Like it’s their choice.
Id vote for whatever party puts money into red light cameras instead of speed cameras.

I guarantee nearly zero of the red light runners are doing it because they don't know how to handle red lights... How on earth would a better test and more training solve selfish impatience?
The only way to end the intentional red light running is to enforce the rules. And with the cost of cameras and sensors so low, and the ability to have the photos sent straight to the appropriate government office immediately (vs the old film cameras that had to be manually checked), there's really no excuse not to just put them everywhere now.
I have said this recently however I think it needs repeating. I have been watching these videos for years and the change in what I see is astonishing. It has gone from a few people going through red lights just as they are changing,u turns at traffic lights and other small things to just psychotic driving and total disregard for other road users and just arrogant attitude to their skill level and their perceived right to do whatever they want. Surely these videos can be used by the police to catch and convict these people and for the most serious cases mandatory jail time where there is no discretion for the judge to not give them jail time
Obviously more cameras on the roads means more incidents caught on video and submitted.
You can’t tell just from this channel if things have got worse or just more visible to us thanks to the internet.

@Mee ibast He was right back near the rear of the truck. The shortest distance to clear was to slow down a touch and let the truck in.
@Mee ibast I do agree with you, the obstruction was in his lane, he is legally required to wait until he is clear to go. However, the realism if heavy vehicles in congested areas needs to be considered too. That gap was substantial and the dc would have to slow minimally to allow him to merge into the lane, letting all of the traffic continue to flow instead of creating a biggee obstruction. Just like with cars, it's generally safest and keeps traffic flowing best to work with each other and allow leeway to get around obstacles. It doesn't matter to me if it's a truck or a car.

Not sure it was the cammer, sounds like it could have been a car behind if he cut them off. Who knows for sure
