I’ve had to watch this in stages with how angry some of these videos have made me! There are some absolute entitled wankers and they not just ruin their day, but in most of these cases, the days of at least 2 other parties. The truck at 13.06 being the worst but damn, they were all rough.
Lived in NZ for a bit. At the time the rate was as estimated "1 in 10 drivers were on meth". I now drive everywhere with that stat in mind. Drive like everyone is on drugs. I've avoided a couple potential incidents that way.
Yes it is… I could feel my blood pressure rising way too many times during this one….. they seriously do my head in, and it concerns me that these people are on the road with us….. just one of the reasons I drive the large 4WD I do….. incase one of the morons decide to do something stupid around me…. This and 3:15. Never stop and wave anybody through if there are other lanes, including cycle lanes. Notice how the other drivers in 3:15 carried on their merry way, after one of them probably contributed to the accident.
It's true, most people in Melbourne I see doing dumb stuff on the roads are either messing with their phone or the tablet screen most newer cars have for audio & maps.
I always thought that...especially in those crazy russian car cam vids...have no problem pressing the hazard light...but somehow forget to use the brake pedal that's always used and much larger than the hazrd light button...I assumed it was for insurance purposes
My personal favorite is the ones who hit the horn during or after the crash as if it help. Like the guy who blew the horn at the biker flying at him. A+ Effort, much help.
I always find it interesting when cammers send in vids of themselves being entirely at fault, makes for a good laugh in the middle of all the destruction. Good vid.
If they send in such videos humbly, then I believe there is hope for those such drivers. Occasionally though, they send them in with hubris, and those ones make it into the April Fools compilation.
Licences are for lawful and honest folk, some of the people here in these video's wouldn't know a licence for anything from the gun they keep at home to the one to drive their oversized status symbol wankmobile, and those are the ones who scream the loudest when they finally get caught.

@@MeFreeBee it looks like there's another vehicle in front but that moves off. the kids must've seen the traffic stopped in that direction and assumed it was safe to go. they walked between the car in front of the cammer and the car in front of that

21:01 is a perfect example of how even someone expecting to look for an accident can get distracted....that one caught me off guard cause i was looking towards the right as i expect many others did
As a properly trained driver, the car on the side of the road was in my view, for a split second. This was only after I noticed the car in the lane, was at a complete stop. Then I watched the accident happen with more than enough time for the driver to stop. As viewers of a crash compilation video, people are looking for the problems that exist all around. As a driver you should pay attention to where you are going, not the things on the side of the road. Also when watching a video, you don't see as much as when you're in the car. I watch these videos as a driver first. When I don't notice the crash, which isn't very often, I then go back and look for what I missed. I do this to see if I could have avoided the accident and to possibly learn more about others driving habits. Unfortunately with the impatient people of today, an accident can come out of nowhere. Not this accident however, as it was easily avoidable.
@@northernsnow6982 ye I watch these videos trying to see if I can predict where an accident is going to occur before it starts. The colour of the car in the lane might've had an effect on why I didn't react ( maybe would've seen it in peripheral if it was red or a brighter colour)
@@alexio1942 let that be a lesson. When driving don't look for accidents, look for ways to avoid accidents. This is not a perfect example of how you can get into an accident, it's a perfect example of people not watching where they are driving, was the point I was making. As I said, I watch as a driver and very seldom miss what's happening accident wise.
yeah whilst I can sympathise with the legitimate distraction there's no way I'm not keeping one eye on the road in front me, the cammer in this particular clip doesn't even brake late which is particularly bad.
@@northernsnow6982 Eyes on the road, hands on the sterring wheel, mind on the job is what I was taught when learning to drive a bus, there are no short cuts to safety only an attitude that today I will do my best to compensate for the people who's driving falls below a standard that is safe. In other words drive defensively, don't take risks and don't try and force a situation in that your error can become a catastrophic problem for someone else and above all else read the road ahead, not just the car in front of you but 4-5 cars ahead to look at what they are doing so you get advance warning of a sudden change in road speed or conditions.
@@philmenzies2477 That's just ... mind-boggling. If you blow your horn at another driver, their behaviour becomes erratic. Sometimes they'll dig their heels in even when they're in the wrong and sometimes they'll panic and cause another accident. There are lots of perfectly legal things you can do to cause a motor vehicle accident. "Sounding your horn to avoid an accident", at any speed above a brisk walking pace, is one of them.
I got teary with the last one because I have epilepsy too and that fear never leaves, even if you haven't had a seizure in years. I hope you're alright and have them under control again
12:55 Someone posted this clip on Lofts Quarries google reviews and they responded to say the driver has been sacked. Like they could do anything else... imo he should be banned from driving a HGV for life.
3:16 why do people keep insisting on turning into 2/3 lanes of traffic like this with a huge blind spot and traffic potentially going at 60km/h plus. it's so fucking risky but i see it all the time?
Agreed. And whilst I appreciate people being courteous to each other, stopping in a roadway to let someone cross when they don’t have proper right of way is a recipe for disaster, as we saw here. I realise it’s a nice thing to do, but often accidents happen because people aren’t following the expected legal road behaviour.
If you do it, sooner or later you will take out a car in the far lane who is undertaking, a lane splitting motorcyclist, or a bike rider. I will never turn right through oncoming traffic coz u are basically guessing on a good outcome.
@@sean---the-other-one at first glance, the middle lane is at least the way it is as a result of the keep clear zone. It's up to the driver driving across 3 lanes of traffic in a 60 zone to give drivers in that lane safe notice they're crossing and avoid messy accidents like this. A friend of a friend made this mistake in a smaller, older car and I don't even know if they ever recovered physically.
@@MohammedAli-tb7zc the keep clear sign here is only for people coming from the left going straight (from the dash cam pov). There's a no right turn sign there, so people coming from the opposite side like him can't turn right.
@@MohammedAli-tb7zc I can see the Keep Clear zone, and also the likelihood that the middle and right lanes had been stopped for it. But the cars on the other side were far enough away that at least the car in the right lane was being courteous and letting that right-turning car through before they started travelling in their lane again. The car in the middle lane may have also held back to be courteous, or possibly saw what the car on the right lane was doing and then potentially made a split second decision to also be courteous or realised that if they moved forward they might be collected by the right-turning car. The right-turning car could also be someone very belligerent who was pushing their way through, forcing the previously stopped cars to wait, but in many of these cases it’s someone who’d prefer to wait who then feels pressured to cross because others are allowing them to do so. We’re social creatures and sometimes that peer pressure will mess around with our rational decision making. So basically, this, or many situations like it, are caused by people disregarding the road rules in order to be nice, and the end result can be fatal.

One of the best DCOA crash compilations I've seen over the 6 years I've been watching. If you're looking for your first dash cam, don't neglect a rear camera. That's where half the stupidity is going on. 👍
Every few months I take a break from my otherwise humdrum (I'm retired) life just to watch one of your episodes so that I'm reminded that if you don't stay on your toes, you are going to you'll probably end up with a lot of grief, There's some dead set drop kicks in this lot.
The 10:30 one is interesting. Both drivers would technically be at fault, maybe the 4x4 even more as he full beamed the driver and rear ended the car. I'm guessing that the other driver was either high or drunk to just speed off like that.
As a parent of a child with epilepsy, when I saw the comment 'had a seizure on my way to work' my heart plummeted as I did not want to see what happened next (I did though) and knew how much that person's life would change from this. Not able to drive for a period of time, which means they may have to change jobs or rely on others to chauffer them. I just don't understand the mindset that 'it's not a disability' of some when it can completely control a persons life.
I completely understand that epilepsy deeply affects a person’s life. On the flip side, an epileptic seizure whilst driving could easily end numerous lives.
I am still reliant on someone to drive me around or be close to public transport. My initial seizure was at work (at 23yo). The employer was very understanding. Never let anything or anyone hold your child back if possible.
As a disability support worker.. letting someone drive with epilepsy is more dangerous to others and themselves if there’s a chance that could result in a crash. Whilst I sympathise greatly. What if they killed a support worker with consumers because they choose to drive?
He was a complete knob-head. He doesn't own the lane. The guy in front had miles of room to merge in... if he's not going fast enough for you... go around... don't tailgate and get on the horn for 10 minutes. Absolute tosspot.
@@crocodile2006 The guy in front didn't have miles of room to merge. What the Golf did would have resulted in failing his License test, even if he didn't brake check or pit himself. If you merging into a lane forces someone to slow down that's a fail, at least it was when i did my P's a few years back, since that's considered an unsafe merge. the Golf was going too slow to merge and either needed to speed up in his lane prior to merging, or wait for the cam car to pass, then merge. and beyond that, the Cam car beeped for 3 seconds before the Golf decided to brake check then pit himself, so really not someone i'd be rooting for anyway.

11:31 the way that bus managed to just finely skim across the front of that Merc is oddly satisfying, granted watching any sort of Merc SUV get wrecked is a joy to observe.
@@tanya5397 yeah I did hear the indicator but I couldn’t figure where the driver was turning too. Into the bush? Or stopping in the middle of a wet road after a corner to pull over ?
The last one resonated with me. Hope the driver is OK. I have epilepsy and was controlled with meds. Started having partial seizures out of the blue. Had my licence suspended around eight years back for medical reasons (with the neurologist) after almost sideswiping a car during a seizure. My teenager was in the car at the time.
Possible hip fracture but it looks like dislocated hip based on the pain response visible in the way the rider moves when trying to get up. It's extremely painful and a dangerous injury fraught with risk for medical complications. I hope someone had the presence of mind to call an ambulance. Time is no-one's friend when it comes to injuries like that.
Yes, but... when i went back, i could see the garbage truck had his right indicator on. Thinking I was having a stroke, I slowed it down to 0.5x speed and watched it again, turns out, the truck definitely had his right indicator on as the car was approaching, before it cancelled as the car approachednext to the truck, which had not indicated to turn left, so the car (which shouldnt have been in the bike lane, I admit) is not at fault, and the truckie is going to be either paying for damages or getting the sack.
I get that, but the accident wouldn't have happened at all if the car wasn't in the bike lane, and so it is the cars fault. The car still had a chance of getting hit even if the truck was turning right anyway, just because of how big it is, and so they should've waited behind like every other car would. The only thing the truckie did wrong was not indicate to go left, I agree aswell lol, but even then that doesn't make them at fault.
That part got me spooked because I travel on that road frequently. If the video date and time was correct, that was exactly 7 days before I was diagnosed with COVID.
The seizure at the end is pretty scary. I don't have such a neurological condition (AFAIK) but I'm terrified about my implanted defibrillator going off and making me black out for 15+ seconds. I'm required under Queensland law to get regular check-ups with my GP to keep my license but it's still a major concern.
You must be talking bout Mad Adrian right? He lived right around the corner from me when I was a kid in the 80s and I was terrified of him. He sure did get around on that racer though.
Great Job as always. as for the last one, where the guy has a seizure. Before I was diagnosed with epilepsy I used to drive @100k miles a year. Now between all my vehicles I drive 2500 miles a year, and only if someone trained with managing epilepsy is with me. I had to change jobs and get specific benefits to avoid driving.
I've had this almost happen to me. I was driving down a sigle lane highway and as I was approaching a T section that fillered into the highway a car speeding throw almost hit me going at 100km/h good thing my horn was loud enough to get his attention and that my breaks were good otherwise he would of been a metal sandwich. No one was harmed, but some underpants may need changing.
They even had the space to turn away from it. Of the two close encounters I've had where somebody else was at fault and almost hit me, neither time did I use my horn. Not even afterwards because there was no point. There's no time or brain space for it. It's the wrong reaction to have when immediate action needs to be taken.
I'm shocked and amazed at the volume and severity of clips. Its crazy. I get in Australia there are more dash cams than most places, but regardless. There doesn't seem to be a slow down in spectacular crashes or stupidity.
I noticed that on the rural roads in Australia when there is a turn off there is no road marking to indicate it. In RSA at virtually all crossings or junctions there will be solid lines painted making it illegal to overtake in that spot. In this video I saw quite a few accidents happen at turn offs where drivers were overtaking the vehicle turning off. A solid line might be a good idea for Australia as well.
The solid line-markings are often there, but too many drivers are in the habit of ignoring them! What I particularly hate is impatient drivers who are in so much of a hurry that they turn quiet suburban streets into 'rat-runs', speeding, tailgating, & rather than slow down for turning vehicles in front of them, they'll pull out & pass or undertake dangerously!
@@briankinnear9975 Do limit people from being distracted. Solution: Higher speed limits on rural roads improves driver consent ration and reduce accidents, but that does not fall into the category of making money from hidden speed cams.
@@JJSmith1100 It may reduce the frequency of accidents, but at higher speeds the injuries and deaths are worse. That is why Vision Zero programmes (aiming for zero deaths or serious injuries) generally set up systems to reduce speeds. But that isn't by speed limit signs but road design that makes drivers more cautious in hazardous areas.
How are you supposed to get out of a driveway like that? Asking cause I'm new to driving. Are you supposed to just creep out real slow until you know you have been visible for long enough that anyone coming would stop, and then send it? Seems really dangerous.
15:05 This is why its important to wear the proper riding gear. Watching those shoes just fly off to space could have easily dislocated or fractured his ankles. I also dont know the extent of his injuries but even a proper jacket and pants would have aided in protecting him better, even lessening the extent of his injuries. While the car is at fault, proper training and defensive riding from the rider would have prevented such an accident from occuring. I ride myself and seeing the speed that car was travelling at towards the intersection, i would have waited for them to pass. Unfortunately, even when the light is green, doesn't always mean its safe to go, this is especially true on a motorcycle. Riding more defensively and being very spatially aware helps in seeing drivers like this, who only care for getting from point A to point B as quickly as possible and if that means riding dangerously and putting others at risk for their own benefit, i sure as hell don't want to be getting anywhere near them, as i would come off second best compared to the car. As seen in this clip.
but why would you need a racemode on a parking lot? car goes backwards suddenly but I don't want to drive in reverse? let's hit that accelerator further! Or maybe automatic drive and confused brakes with gas? Which is one thing I will never understand how this even happens..
Teaching me how to drive, my dad told me some key points 1. defensive driving is key: you can almost always predict idiots, even if you have right of way, doesn't mean others will respect that. Better to be safe, than to be in the right sometimes. 2. Merging isn't just merging in front of a car, it's also merging behind one. 3. If a car is tailgating you, don't brake check it, you can simply lay off the accelerator, similar effect, less danger. 4. Stay away from trucks, you can be doing the right thing and things can still go wrong. 5. Every idiot that speeds past you, you'll see again at the next set of lights. edit: feel like I should say that my dad is a country boy who's written off 3 cars by being an idiot

@@MohammedAli-tb7zc
I can see the Keep Clear zone, and also the likelihood that the middle and right lanes had been stopped for it.

As a parent of a child with epilepsy, when I saw the comment 'had a seizure on my way to work' my heart plummeted as I did not want to see what happened next (I did though) and knew how much that person's life would change from this. Yes, but... when i went back, i could see the garbage truck had his right indicator on.

But in the rain you are supposed to keep a safer distance therefore the driver behind should have seen him slowing down and slowed down himself
Gotta love seeing local streets on this channel 😍
The Golf at 0:45 was just a joy to behold...
10:37 Sounds like Maddog has moved from Perth to Melbourne and upgraded from his bicycle to a car.
Ha ha I remember maddog at the Perth train station back in the 80s 😂
You must be talking bout Mad Adrian right? He lived right around the corner from me when I was a kid in the 80s and I was terrified of him. He sure did get around on that racer though.
Great Job as always. as for the last one, where the guy has a seizure. Before I was diagnosed with epilepsy I used to drive @100k miles a year. Now between all my vehicles I drive 2500 miles a year, and only if someone trained with managing epilepsy is with me. I had to change jobs and get specific benefits to avoid driving.
5:52 the fact that there is initial D music playing while this happens is the highlight of my day
How about we end this... With a one car crash!? Hahaha
@@KaleunMaender77 yeah shingo upgraded from his civic to a falcon, still not going well for him.

The 2nd driver that put the brake checker straight into the wall is my spirit animal. I'm glad somebody finally did it 😂
21:08 got me good
This was probably one of the crazier videos to the series
5:21 this Mazda driver should be locked up and never allowed to drive again..
2:10 needs to learn the difference between the horn and his brakes.
I know right!....hits his horn but proceeds to drive straight into them. Muppet.
Beep, brake, same difference.
A lot of the accidents in this video could have been avoided if they were as fast on the brakes as they were on the horn.
They even had the space to turn away from it. Of the two close encounters I've had where somebody else was at fault and almost hit me, neither time did I use my horn. Not even afterwards because there was no point. There's no time or brain space for it. It's the wrong reaction to have when immediate action needs to be taken.
@@wadeh7254 Look at his dash cam speedo. He actually accelerates towards the other car.
I'm shocked and amazed at the volume and severity of clips. Its crazy. I get in Australia there are more dash cams than most places, but regardless. There doesn't seem to be a slow down in spectacular crashes or stupidity.
19:58 Please switch on your lights
Looking at their phones mostly see it all day especially rear enders.
@@stevie-ray2020 Come visit South Africa and drive for a week in Cape Town or Johannesburg. You will appreciate how law abiding Australians are.;)
@@briankinnear9975 Do limit people from being distracted.
19:00 - Easily avoidable, was too stubborn to slow or swerve.
19:46 Why is it that some feel the need to always be 1 car ahead. You're going to be slower now and its going to cost you a lot more.
Every Learner should watch 2 hours of this with surround sound and a vibrating chair before getting their P's.
It still wouldn't be enough. So many people nowadays have a crippling addiction to their phones.
18:00 "we're gonna die young" welp
18:23 someone clearly thought the R stood for race mode
but why would you need a racemode on a parking lot?
car goes backwards suddenly but I don't want to drive in reverse? let's hit that accelerator further!
Or maybe automatic drive and confused brakes with gas? Which is one thing I will never understand how this even happens..
😄😄😄😄
Teaching me how to drive, my dad told me some key points
1. defensive driving is key: you can almost always predict idiots, even if you have right of way, doesn't mean others will respect that.
So many of this month's accidents could have been avoided with defensive driving.
My own thoughts exactly.
It's a crash compilation. Not a month video.
....but that would deprive us viewers of enjoying these compilations!
So many of these comments could be avoided if people didn't victim blame
Or simply opened their eyes.
Most of these flogs need to be banned from driving for life.
00:45 tbh, served him right there for cutting across like that on purpose and without indicating
what happened there is pretty much what almost everybody has thought about doing but wasn't crazy enough to go through with it 😂😂
oh yeah he was at fault, he was road raging.... trying to block the truck at all costs..
Except that the DC driver needs to be off the road too. All of it was unnecessary.
@@mp4986 oh completely agree, but also something satisfying about seeing someones actions bite them in the ass like that
@@mp4986
DC did the only thing he could do. Nothing he could of done to prevent it even if he breaked or did anything else. The Mazda driver purposely merged into him hoping to cause damage only to end up totaling his own car. And even if DC owner did avoid it, that mazda driver could have done more stupid things in dangering others. Mazda did a stupid move and got a stupid result, karma well served.
7:36 That must be why they started playing ads warning about tram stopping ability on the radio stations only in the last couple of weeks.
You know a tram has had to brake heavily since it's last maintenence when it goes, dadunk, dadunk as it rolls past!
@@Mercurio-Morat-Goes-Bughunting Trains and trams go dadunk when they drive over the expansion joints in the rails.
Not because the wheel is flat spotted.
@@IIGrayfoxII Yes, I think also when the wheel is flat spotted, not only over joints.
@@Mercurio-Morat-Goes-Bughunting Flat spotted wheels would cause problems with braking and ride

@@IIGrayfoxII We're talking about trams, not trains and I know someone who brought one to a quick halt. It skidded and it did the dadunk dadunk thing along a section of track with no joins. That's how it became a bit of a family joke :) Moreover, I've spent enough time on trams to know when the sound has something to do with joins and track defects (consistent relative to location) and when the sound is due to a defect in the wheel (occurs irrespective of location).
