    I like ones who drive straight into crashes rather than let someone in. They’re the real winners.

      Honestly I had that happen to me, I drove straight into a crash because the guy who suddenly started moving into my lane swerved back out.... Only to come back in and fuck up my day. Mind you he barely indicated and was coming from a stop whereas I was moving pretty fast so it wasn't exactly ideal conditions

    The amount of people that can't just take the L on being in the wrong lane for their turn and find a way around later is unbelievable these days.

      I legitimately don't get it, either. If I take a wrong turn, or miss a turn, I just keep going, find somewhere quiet to pull over, and fire up Google Maps. Really not that hard.

      U-turns are legal in a lot of areas of the road for a few reasons, this being one of them. Some people just think it's the worst thing in the world to miss their turns..

      +1, Louder for those in the back of the class. My mantra has been "If you can't see the sun, headlights go on" but if someone says 'what if you're driving west in the evening, sun is there' yeah, point, but I'll still run them because when you have a shadow to judge the car ahead of you, tailights help a lot for safety.
      The mantra is more for baby steps ( eg rain, or for people silly enough to think DRL's are fine before dawn breaks. )

    • @ChristianDeHadleigh

      @@ChristianDeHadleigh trouble is DRLs don't normally light up the taillights, or folk see some kind of illumination as they back out of their parking and don't think to engage headlights.

    • @darreng745
      @darreng745 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@patriograysmark6328 Agreed on certain vehicles like VW's the DRL do not illuminate the rear lights and yes I've driven like it myself, yet on my previous Skoda the DRL were not only able to be turned off but if you had them turned on then they illuminated the front and rear lights.
      Why on earth do car manufacturers behave in this manner when the simple truth is that the Scandanavian experience with the use of DRL has shown that DRL is a life saver and is best left fully on and on the front and the rear of the car.

      this is an issue that increased speed limits would have a significant effect on
      most people drive at the speed they're most comfortable at; if i feel comfortable at 100 but the speed limit is 150, i will happily stay as far left as possible, and if i need to get around slower traffic QUICKLY, i can do so without worrying about cops. Similarly, people who are comfortable at 150, can do 150, without having to stay around me for too long.
      the australian overtake consists of vehicle A doing just under the speed limit, and vehicle B, scared about the nutty highway patrol, not wanting to go more than 5 over the limit. you now have vehicle B taking a minute to perform what should be no more than a ten second action. Even worse when vehicle A unconsciously (or deliberately) speeds up to try to match vehicle B's speed.
      tasmania does it right; speed limits on the fun roads are 100, but realistically unless you have significantly improved your driving skill, or vehicle's handling, or both, most people can only really do 80. As a result, slower drivers don't have to worry about someone riding their ass, and faster drivers don't have to worry about being held up by slower vehicles or breaking the law.
      but this will never happen short of a coup and a dictator implementing this, because the govt gets a nice chunk of profit off all the tickets

      For penalising traffic incidents, they need the video, a witness statement from the dash cam operator and a willingness by the dash cam operator to attend court in the future if the offender challenges any penalty applied.

    4. Look and don't give a two hoots
