    Your videos are super clear and descriptive. Great balance of chat and scenery in them too. Totally rewatching this when I visit VI this Aug! Thanks for the info!

    Cute video! I really appreciate how much of Port Alberni you showed. It's often skipped and not even mentioned at all in these kinds of videos. The donut shop is called The Donut Shop though and Coombs Country Candy is it's own thing, no affiliation to the market 😊 Your next visit should include a visit to Sproat Lake Provincial park, there are more petroglyph to see. Happy Travels!

      Thank you so much! We really enjoyed Port Alberni. We thought it was super cute and very scenic. Definitely underrated.

    It was fun on the break water during a storm before the guard rails! Safe no, fun yes.

    Nice video. I'm lucky enough to call Vancouver Island home and there is so much more that you didn't see. The Comox Valley is the Recreation Capital of Canada, Campbell River scenery and fishing is spectacular and everything north is rugged rainforest and untouched coastline.

      So gorgeous! We wish we had more time, the island is incredible

    You have to visit more of the island. There is so much to see. Visit places like the eternal fountain, the Devils Bath, Alder Bay (near Telegraph). of course Cape Scott, the north coast trail. Then of course there are all the smaller islands and their treasures. Come in the winter and ski Mount Washington! Lots of snowmobile trails, heck ski in the morning, go golfing in the afternoon.
    Follow the favorite pastime of islanders, craft brewery hopping!

      We've gone to the island a few times now and couldn't agree more. You'll never run out of things to do! We'd love to come back during the winter but we drive from Kelowna and that's pretty sketchy.

    Pass systems for parks are not about inconveniencing visitors; it's about knowing exactly how many visitors are staying at a given time - it's about facilities management and land stewardship.

    If you want REALLY good donuts, you need to go further North on Vancouver Island, to Courtenay. Bigfoot donuts is the best

    • @AnywhereGoes
      @AnywhereGoes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Courtenay already has amazing ice cream, now you're telling me they have great donuts too?!?!

    We live a kilometre away from Goats On The Roof and I'm amazed at the number of tourists that are drawn to this location. Locals don't buy the tourist's stuff, but we do buy the fruits and veggies, that are often cheaper than anywhere else in the area. This is the best place in Canada to live, but PLEASE don't move here.

    I wonder how many people across North America know there really is place called Nanaimo, and nanaimo bars really did originate from there. Not sure when this video was made, but there was just recently a forest fire at Cameron Lake just 4 km. from Cathedral Grove. That was to close!

    • @AnywhereGoes
      @AnywhereGoes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My question is do people know about all the coconuts???
      Yeah the fires have been bad lately.

      @@AnywhereGoes Don't tell anybody, but I have some hybrid coconuts growing in my backyard.

      Ha, until this video and being a Nanaimo Bar lover, I had no idea they were made there! I'll be heading up in a couple days. Great video, guys.

    What they missed. Mill Bay, Cowichan Bay, Chemainus, Ladysmith and pretty much everywhere. Don't follow their path, you will miss everything.

      Don't follow this guy's path, you'll end up in Ladysmith instead of Tofino.

      Can't visit everywhere when you're on a tight schedule.
