Adelaide is usually known as the 20 minute city by other states because you don’t usually need to drive over an hour to our biggest tourist hotspots (wineries, hills, beaches ect). I’ve heard the name thrown around a few times and my family have been here our whole lives as well. It’s just a snappy little nickname, it’s not that serious ❤ This video was so sweet and cute, thanks for showcasing our beautiful city! You should see it during festival season! The fridge is EVERYTHING ✨

So glad you enjoyed it and man you made it look a lot better than I thought it was lol I've actually never heard of it being called the 20 min city, so you educated me on my own city lol. Christmas parades with a variety of floats is something I've always experienced so it never occurred to me that it might be weird to some people. I find it pretty funny how Australia is huge on wine but we're more known for beer drinking. I'm sure someone has already told you this but, meat pies have tomato sauce on them, not ketchup, they're actually different types of sauces. Lmao your faces when you ate Vegemite. I love it, i just eat it out the jar with a spoon haha. Glad you enjoyed your trip here.

I’ve lived in Adelaide for 28yrs and never have I ever heard the CBD referred to as the “20 minute city”.

When I was a kid the first time I tried it I said, hey mom did they scrape this from the bottom of a beer barrow ha ??? Taste better with Butter.

And for those who live in the city or around Adelaide, a less known fact about the Adelaide Arcade is that it's haunted but the spirit of an old security guard. And he haunts the upper floors, and if somehow get into the Arcade when it's closed, it's said he'll run from the upstairs down to you and chase you out yelling at you to leave the property immediately. Which is interesting because there are no stairs there anymore or at least not where they used to be. Haven't been there in years myself, also the old folk know more about it.

We are moving to Adelaide from the Uk in 2 months. Super excited but also a bit terrified for this big move. Thanks guys to give some ideas of what to expect. Any tips for newcomers to Adelaide / Australia?

I think the idea of the Christmas pageant is to be all things child-orientated. The floats are mostly fairytale or child/family movie themed and there are also plenty of clowns. There are also a lot of marching bands, dancers, etc. So it's definitely not just Christmas themed floats, but it's certainly all stuff that kids love. Really gets kids hyped for summer holidays and then of course Santa at the end to realllly get kids hyped haha. :D

The trick with Vegemite is you need to have it 50/50 with butter or margarine…..! (Not straight)

Adelaide has totally spoilt me for how walkable it is. Really a great city centre that I’ve been taking for granted for many years now. The multicultural elements give it so much variety and some brilliant food

After living in Adelaide for years, we are very ready to leave it all behind. It's not wheelchair accessible, wait times for specialists are 7 years or more so yeah, perhaps visiting is nice but for living, no thanks. In two months we'll be homeless and the housing situation here is terrible. Cost of living is bad too.

I love Adelaide ( my home). Very underrated place. Vegemite should be eaten on white bread toast with plenty of butter. Never had it on a croissant, and no one I know has, either.

Born and bred in Adelaide but now living in the lower south east of SA, thank you for showcasing my beautiful home town in such an amazing and inspiring way! Next time in Adelaide we are going to take the time to walk the city and really take in all she has to offer. ❤

Perth has more to offer than most people realise I think.😊 I live just south of Fremantle, 5 minutes from a beautiful clean safe beach.

We do not put Vegemite on croissants! You put it on toast or crackers... almost like a Pâté We also use it for Stir Fry's and stuff It's also great for when you're sick

I loved your video. As an Adelaide resident I thought you did a great job of describing just a few of our fabulous attractions. Hint re Vegemite. You must have it with butter! It’s a strange savoury flavour but Aussie kids love it from a very young age.

Yes I do like this 😂 I would make 4 peices of toast with butter that melts before you can open the jar. And just throw it on haha. I would also put cheese on top

Never heard the nickname 20 minute city before or has my friends,I lived in Adelaide & Adelaide Hills well over 50 years, Usually called the city of churches or festival city👍🏻

In the cbd i dont know if they're still there (couldn't find any on our year 11 retreat) but there should be painted furbies around the place. Fun fact while in the cbd bus and tram fairs are free but make sure to pay if you're leaving. 12:18 cant believe you didn't film the best part the giant squid 13:28 toast some butter and a thin layer of vegiemite chefs kiss.png

Vegemite is the absolute best, the problem is you didn't put in on thick enough. You gotta lather it on there. Plus a croissant isn't really the right type of bread for it.

Lived there for 18 months last century - Adelaide was a welcome change after growing up in Sydney. Winter is my biggest issue with anything down south, and Adelaide has some absolutely hideous days in Summer - it seems that you caught it at it's best. Thanks for exploring a different part of Oz to the usual SYD-MEL tango.

As an Australian I would never have Vegemite on a croissant

oh noo.. vegemite on croissant, as an Aussie that sounds horrible. Put vegemite in a small amount on hot toast with plenty of butter or on a normal slice of bread with margarine or butter (not just vegemite alone). Us Aussies always cringe when we watch people from overseas try out the vegemite as they nearly always get that wrong.

Bathers beach while it is the central beach is probably the worst beach in Fremantle, there are some great beaches around Freo.

Adelaide the city of creeps , weirdos and pedos galore!

A needed business is making clothes and furniture and equipment for handicap children.

How about the 5 star restaurant??? Has better food than Hay River, Northwest Territory.

I was born in Adelaide and went on holiday to the UK at age 6, 44 years later I finally made it home. Those who are bagging Adelaide can’t have watched the video, there were places I haven’t visited in years and some I have never visited but definitely intend to. Yes we are not as big as other cities but we have a great little city and it’s one to be proud of. Thank you for reminding me how lucky I am to live here. And btw definitely a Vegemite lover, nice and thick on buttered toast, yum!
