No skill needed to catch fish up there, if you can figure out how to attach a lure (any lure) to a line and cast, it’s dinner time. Zero fishing pressure means fish will hit anything that looks remotely close to food, true for the world over. You can do it!! 🎣

Wonderful! We’re so glad you enjoyed it! A 2WD wasn’t our first choice, but it’s what we had so we’re making it work for now. 😊 You can make it surprisingly far with locked rear end and some skill behind the wheel. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻

@@SlowRoamers Probably something that’s a complete mess but tastes amazing. Like a double-decker BLT that’s half fallen apart by the time I sit down. You know, the kind of sandwich that makes you question your life choices while you’re eating it. 😂 What about you?
Big fan of your channel and your adventures, Being born, Raised & still living in Smithers BC I am happy that you got to experience and share northern BC with the world. One comment that you said at 2:30-2:50 in your video leaves me with one comment to spread to the people of BC and Canada, Is that BC has hundreds of thousands of square kilometres of untouched forests across the North that are not impacted by logging whatsoever, I just wish people would understand that and not say we are over logging and destroying all of BC when the majority of people that live in the south see a few cut blocks within 100km of Vancouver and assume we are cutting the whole forest down.
Hey Luke, thanks for watching! As per your comment on my comment. I do agree with you, Canada is vast and its forests are basically endless; however, I say that with a caveat. The first lumbermen of Canada said the same thing, “these forests are endless.” It’s not hard to hop on Google earth and see just how much logging there has been done and it’s pretty significant. Our mountains all throughout southern BC are a patchwork of cut blocks. It’s a lot of destroyed natural environment. I understand there’s the need for the industry to survive and it supports a lot of Canadians, but anything and everything can be done more sustainably and more efficiently. Hopefully one day we move away a little from the traditional lumber industry to a more sustainable building technology that doesn’t require cut blocks and old growth forest. Cheers!
What a fantastic vlog this was. I just love your choice of music too. It gives the mood and continuity so well. In general, just excellent production value. Congrats!
That is one of the best travel blogs I have ever seen....I hope you consider writing a book about your journey up through B.C. in Betty the Beast and her fantastic effort as a 2 wheel drive. Things you could right about are how you got Betty ready, the clothing you used for the wet trip, food you ate, how you succumbed to the many challenges you had, places you loved, what you did not like on your journey, advice for anyone traveling up through B.C. even in areas which are not nearly so daunting, oh and include understandable maps and where the places featured are, on a larger scale B.C. map. I believe it would be a best seller Looking forward to watching the next episode. It will be difficult to improve on!
Haha, thanks so much! I think we’ll try to tackle a traveling cookbook first, then maybe move on to a travel journal but the videos are already a ton of work. We don’t have enough time in our day to make videos and write books at this time in our lives. I’m glad you think we can do it though. Thanks so much for watching, we’ll see you in the next one!🙌🏻
@SlowRoamers People don't realize how far you can get with 2WD and a locker. My K5 Blazer does almost all the trails around SW CO in 2WD low range. An NV4500 manual transmission has a low 1st gear and would help with your set up or a transfer case could get your gearing lower. Don't even need the front axle, driveshaft, etc.
For sure! Most trails I would run in my Toyota pickup were done in 2WD up until I couldn’t go any further at which point I’d engage the t-case and lock the hubs. We won’t be doing any further modifications to the van as it will be sold in Argentina or Chile, but our next rig will have all the offroad goodies so we can make to further and harder to reach places.😁🤘🏼
I would totally do this trek. grew up in Prince George BC,. Great Job you Two!!! Your not Crazy. Just love seeing our gorgeous province. Beautiful drone work.
I love how much of this shows the area where I grew up. Although we live in PG now and I have for longer cumutively than I have lived anywhere else, I grew up in Houston, just that 50 kms East of Smithers you were sort of talking about. This is so awesome, seeing mountain ranges that were my backyard, as I grew up exploring so much of this area. I think this is how we first found you guys, when "Telkwa Pass" showed up on my screen because of where I grew up. So awesome, thank you for highlighting the area so well, even if some of your driving efforts were a little over beyond!!
Insanely beautiful footage on that ferry ride. You got incredible weather. Super lucky. Also jealous. I have always wanted to do that passage and explore north
Hey Jon, yeah we definitely felt lucky with the sunny weather, I’ve heard of folks getting rain and fog the whole way. You and the fam could easily do maybe a week long trip, drive up island, ferry to PR then drive down the interior…
Fantastic job on your cinematography and drone work! I enjoyed it’s release especially on a Sunday so I could soak it all in. A trip of a lifetime, you never know when you’ll have the opportunity to return. Such a special time of sharing with old friends in Smithers BC, not a bad town to be stranded in. Breakdowns are God’s way of saying “You need to stop and smell the roses just a little.” Evidence of that is how it timed perfectly in order for your newfound friends from Switzerland to catch up to you. I’m sure they were well climatized to the elevation and enjoyed the unique vastness and unpopulated ruggedness of our Canadian version of “the Alps”. Good fellowship was shared by all. Truly a lovely film, thank-you for sharing I enjoyed it so much.😊❤🤍❤🇨🇦

Nice video, born and raised in a logging camp in my earlier days, the forest valley was my backyard, but now a cityboy. Was extremely nice to see the far north and the raw wilderness again, thank you.
Thanks for watching, glad we had a chance to bring you down memory lane.
Well done! That wraps another fantastic adventure… stay safe and enjoy the journey.
Thanks Jordan, glad you enjoyed it!

Such good storytelling. Thanks for bringing us along!
Thanks for watching!😊🙌🏻
Well done. I love your adventure and bravery to tackle this trip in a 2wd van. I'm from Nova Scotia, and as beautiful as it is here, BC looks absolutely amazing. Some day, I will be there. Thank you for sharing
😁😁Thanks for watching, we’re always stoked to have a fellow Canadian watching our films. We feel the same about NS to be honest. One day we’ll make it over to your end of the country. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻🙌🏻🇨🇦🇨🇦
I'm speechless! Thank you.
Haha, you’re welcome and thank you for watching!😊
@@SlowRoamers Great way to connect with your subscribers and make us feel important. It's amazing you guys take the time to heart or respond to everyone...very impressive. Safe travels!
I try, but it’s becoming progressively more time consuming. I’ll go as long as I can before it becomes a problem…😊
Yessss! Made the trek this summer with wifey in tow for her first big road trip! Glad to see this area pop up again :) Great content!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!😁🙌🏻
Love this! BC born and raised, and this still makes my heart sing! I was surprised to learn your van is only 2wd. As an avid backcountry driver with a 4x4, this gave me so much anxiety! 😂 I admire your perseverance 😅
Wonderful! We’re so glad you enjoyed it! A 2WD wasn’t our first choice, but it’s what we had so we’re making it work for now. 😊 You can make it surprisingly far with locked rear end and some skill behind the wheel. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
@SlowRoamers Yeah! It's quite impressive, honestly! Also, I've been debating getting a Delica as my next vehicle, and your video kinda solidified that :)
Niiice! They’re super cool fans.
So beautiful and so well done!!! Thanks for doing this!!!
Thanks for watching Kyle! Glad you enjoyed it.😊
beautiful trip...great😅😅😅..
from Argentina...we see you...great energy...
We’re coming your way, so you may literally see us! 😊 thanks for watching!🙌🏻
High fives for getting up that friggin hill… Awesome!!! Incredible views, thanks for taking us along!
High fives all around!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Team work makes the dream work. Thanks for watching Diane!
AAAHHH stop winging. you're on the road what's the hurry eh! Thank you for the spectacular images, so happy I was born in Canada out east and now live on the Island as well, These images show amazing parts of Canada, wonderful.
Seasons are the hurry, summer lasts three maybe four months up north and the drive times are super long. Thanks for watching, so glad you enjoyed the film.😊😊🙌🏻

Yo, how does this channel not have a bajillion likes yet!? Did the algorithm fall asleep or something? Y’all deserve a whole army of thumbs-up for this amazing content-keep crushing it!
Hahaha, thanks so much! Although we’re grateful for every subscriber we got, we do sometimes wonder if the algo just isn’t into us…dunno, but we’re stoked you found us! Thanks for watching 😁
@ You guys are so chill, I hope our paths cross someday on the road. I’d love to sit by a river in the mountains, share a sandwich, and just take it all in. Much love
What kind of sandwich…?
@@SlowRoamers Probably something that’s a complete mess but tastes amazing. Like a double-decker BLT that’s half fallen apart by the time I sit down. You know, the kind of sandwich that makes you question your life choices while you’re eating it. 😂 What about you?
Ok, sweet, I’ll bring a big plate and large tortilla’s, that we can catch what falls to make burritos…
Absolutely inspiring
Thanks Martin!🙌🏻
Watched on my 4k TV.. Cannot travel anymore...What awesome video...and drone footage..Like I was there...Thank You!!😮😊
Thanks for watching Chris, so glad we get to be your virtual tour guides!😁✌🏼
Cheers!
BC is stunning!!! Happy new year.
1000% agree! Thanks for watching!
What a fantastic vlog this was. I just love your choice of music too. It gives the mood and continuity so well. In general, just excellent production value. Congrats!
Thanks so much! We’re so stoked you enjoyed it and thank you for the kind words.😊
The choice of BGM used in this epic video is just straight up fire!!! ❤️
Hey hey! Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! You can tell all the haters that I actually have decent taste in music.😂😂😂

Breathe taking scenery. Safe travels and thanks for the ride. 😎
Thanks for watching, so glad you enjoyed the film!😊🙌🏻
Next time we want the unblurred version of the lake jump 😂😂😉
Thank you both so much for showing your beautiful trip!!!
Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
2WD!!! Great job and quite ballsy.
💪🏼💪🏼 get’n’er done!😁
Simply amazing. You have some serious huevos to attempt that in a 2WD van!
😁🙌🏻🙌🏻💪🏼 Huevos….🤣🤣🤣🤣
4wd only lets u get Stuck Further in
There’s a lot of truth to that!
🎶 go betty, go betty, go betty 🎶 i was cheering along with you! wow.

Beautiful video. Great story telling and love that you guys were my childhood town growing up. Your channel is going to be huge. Cheers
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! Which town is your childhood town?
I would totally do this trek. grew up in Prince George BC,. Great Job you Two!!! Your not Crazy. Just love seeing our gorgeous province. Beautiful drone work.
Thanks for watching Francine, you should definitely do the trek, get after it!😁😁🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love how much of this shows the area where I grew up.
That’s wonderful! We’re so glad you enjoyed it and had a chance to go down memory lane. Thanks so much for watching!
Amazing ❤
Thank you!😊
Insanely beautiful footage on that ferry ride.
My wife and I just found your channel. I have subscribed. Cheers from Ajax Ontario.
Hey hey! Thanks so much for following along!
Extrodinarily amazing!
Thank youuuu! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Thank youuu!😊

I really enjoyed this adventure. I live in southern BC and have driven up to the Yukon 4 times over the years. I plan to drive up this year in late summer for the last time.

Hi guys, you are fantastic, good luck from Lucca, Tuscany, Italy 🎉
Thank you so much! We feel honoured to have viewers as far away as Italy!
First time viewer of your channel. Now I am an overlander and not a vanlifer, but I gotta say that your 2-tone paint on your van is amazing! I love that classic look. You saw some amazing sites, and views on your way. I'll definitely be back to watch more of your adventures.
Hey hey, glad you found us and thanks for watching! If I had it my way the age of the van would match the retro paint.🤣 Thanks though, we dig the paint job too, gotta keep it old school somehow. See you in the next one!🙌🏻
What’s the difference between an overlander and a vanlifer? Almost nothing in slowroamers case.

Finally the first to comment on a video😊 what's spare parts do you carry with you because I'd be afraid to venture out that far without a spare of everything. More people should carry bear spray and a gun when in remote wilderness you never know what you're going to come across
