I hate that loads of people's logic with game fighting systems is that "If it uses a free combat system (like Arkham's FreeFlow or the Middle-Earth games) then it's an Arkham knockoff". Like, don't get me wrong I bloody LOVE the Arkham games...well except from SSKTJL, but my point is that these games aren't trying to be the next Arlham games, they're just trying to be fun Spider-Man games

40:37 Another factor for the swinging is that the map in the PS4 game is so big and full of stuff like NPC’s, cars, reflections, etc that it can’t load the rest of the map at an efficient speed. That is until Spider-man 2 was made (and made specifically for the PS5) that it was able to increase the speed you can achieve

He also says that she has Spidey “begging not to fight,” when the context for that scene is that Li has Norman in his possession and, instead of wasting time fighting with Sable and risking Norman getting killed, convinces her to look at the bigger picture and work together to stop Li. That’s basic narrative context that he chose to ignore because “she folded Spider-Man” when that’s not what happened at all.
Yeah, suffice to say, I personally don’t agree with this guy.

Tbh even if they are just as complex as one another:
Web of shadows still has janky unnatural animations, and Spiderman 2 has outdated graphics….
SM PS4 solves both those issues at the cost of slower swinging but with enough practice and mastery of the systems, that can be mitigated

Spiderman ps4 lacks more than half of the mechanics of wos, s2, and even ultimate spiderman, games that came out almost a decade before that one, and even 5 years later, Spiderman 2 ps5 still can't improve the web swinging to an considering amount
@@mrmelonman2893 I hate to break it to you but SM2 PS5 has by far the best swinging system we’ve ever seen…. And even then I never said the PS4 swinging was the best, most instead the most well rounded
As the previous game all lack certain elements which hold them back, whereas the PS4 swinging system has nothing holding it back even if you can’t reach the same speeds of the previous games
Also the graphics comment is incorrect as depending on the context, good graphics/animations inherently are more appealing to the eye and assist in improving immersion and the general experience 🤷♂️
@mrmelonman2893 considering that game has a way of toggling between the ps4 swinging and a similar one to the spider-man 2 movie game, I would argue that it's better. (Plus, do you really want the ps5 game to have the move that looks like spider-man is hanging himself? Or the one why he's doing the y in the ymca?)
Does this Joker not realize that the gadgets are optional? Granted, there are mini objectives in these combats that you need to use them, but even then you don't have to complete those objectives. But if you do and once you complete that objective you're not obligated to use those gadgets unless you want to.
Exactly - he went out his way to unlock the optional gadget / upgraded it to max and then complained it was too strong 🤦♂️

The only things I agreed with UJ on is that The Arkham franchise is the best and that human side missions suck but is cool seeing Rhino from Miles perspective. Other than that he mostly said stupid stuff but I nearly lost my mind when he said MCU She-Hulk and RAMI MJ Are better than Insomniac Mj. With everything UJ has said in this or any other video I have no idea how you are able to sit through his videos without losing your mind

But in all of them except knight the grapnel gun insta kills anyone you drag off of a ledge in predator sections which is applicable in the vast majority of them
And in knight you can cheese all stealth AR challenges with red hood and all combat challenges with Harley Quinn

I despise MJ in SM2, but to say she is bad in any way (other than gameplay) in the 1st game is blasphemy. The story, gameplay, and the graphics are all top tier. I played SM2 when it came out and will say I prefer the 1st's story, character portals, and suit options (baring the symbiote). I just don't like where they took the characters in the 2nd. Outside of that the game improved on everything else. I also say people have a problem with stealth because they aren't very creative. It is super funny to be able to set a trap, zip to a ceiling to take down one dude, webstrike the 2nd, the 3rd catches a heavy web, and another dude runs over to help just to get caught in a trip mine.

I disagree with this guy a lot but I think mj risking her life for information is kinda annoying because I want her to do crucial things but she’s also a normal human and if it had almost realistic logic she would’ve died a lot later and I didn’t enjoy her parts because it was very easy to work with but also long in the new game I think she served a more critical role in helping them takedown the bad guy and also better gameplay because one she can protect herself and two she doesn’t push herself in most situations if I was mj I couldn’t think about putting myself in danger like that but overall in the game she was a good character i did like when she was working with Peter because it took off most of the risk.
I’m not sure how old his review is, but I played the game at launch and while both the web blossom and the web bomb were kinda OP, insomniac dropped updates nerfing both of them.
I just used gadget refill. Literally in every combat encounter I just used the spider bots and they kill literally every single enemy. Nobody is immune to them. There was barely any point of combat
I’d give the game a 9/10
The combat was just as expanded enough to experiment with: 8/10
Gadgets were fun to use but also a bit op: 7/10
After playing the Arkham games the stealth was a bit boring compared to other games: 5/10
Swinging was amazing and very balanced in speed and style: 10/10
Mj section was crucial to the story but wasn’t really enjoyable: 4/10
Challenges we’re good: 6/10
Miles section was brief but truly terrifying: 10/10
DLC: haven’t played it
Bad guys we’re written well too bad most got killed off in two: 9/10
Suits they were awesome I would’ve like more from the comics but I’m okay with it: 10/10
Overall:9/10
Mj bits is a seven. Not great, but miles better then the Batmobile section in Arkham Knight.

Insomniac Spiderman is far from perfect, however given that Joker has admitted to being bias in previous videos, and misrepresented the game….. well that’s the point in debunking this “review”
I think it’s hilarious that a lot of his criticisms are things you have complete control over to artificially make the game easier or harder😂

My biggest issue with insomniacs Spider-Man is he’s too nice and doesn’t take his code very serious.

@@TheGamingRift11 the Spider-Man I grew up with wasn’t as nice as this one. He was edgier, tougher, didn’t let people push him around. other than Toby who was also not comic accurate but I digress.
the Spider-Man I grew up with would never look the other way on his responsibilities and hand them off to someone else. only time he did that was in the clone saga and that was only because Spider-Man believed he was not the real Peter. Plus that’s also a very controversial story.
So yeah. I don’t like what insomniac has done with Spider-Man.
I put up with these flaws in the first game cuz they weren’t as bad and the story was pretty great.
But they doubled down on push over Pete.
So I’m not gonna stick around for the third One unfortunately.
It’s just gonna end with his death or early retirement and I’m not interested in seeing either.
I’m glad you enjoyed it though.

Spider man 2 is worse then the og spider man game from insomniac only because of how good the story was in the first.
I would say the story is better in the first game whereas the gameplay is better in SM2

As much as i love the arkham games over spiderman. Still think spiderman is worth it. I feel like if there was things like challange maps like the arkham games in it's own menus etc. I would had liked it more. Edit : This game generally lacks content after beating everything. Challenge maps would had great with the option to do some of the story stealth/combat missions with the campaign twist from arkham city/origins.
