Except it's based mainly on puzzles.
These games are actually fantastic, don't overlook them just because there are major releases happening as well

@@nowonmetube They were actually designed to emulate everything good... and bad about old-school, tough-as-nails platformers, so I can understand that. I can promise you that they definitely don't feel clunky after a while though.
@@morgatious Don't forget the puzzles so obscure they'll make you wander through every location you've already visited forever and ever until you break and check a walkthough, only to be like "I'm supposed to do WHAT?!" :P

It's a true gem of a game if you think you're good at puzzle games and platformers. Because this game will heck you up in both aspects, throwing you into insta-death pits for making a wrong move or confusing you for weeks with puzzles so obscure they'll break your mind... And yet it's a true masterpiece. As long as you're a masochist of course, but a masterpiece nonetheless >:P
To people who have never played these games and think they are in store for a fun little Metroidvania......oh boy.......

Indiana Jones and Castlevania combine huh? Not bad, not bad at all.
Aaand Dark Souls. Because this game is brutal as heck, and has puzzles so obscure it would be a miracle to beat it without a walkthrough xD
@Brendan Lewis Souls-like level of difficulty is a culturally accepted descriptor due to the connotation of the games of this series being brutal and unforgiving. You may not like it, but you have to deal with it as it wasn't me who coined it, but it was accepted into urban dictionary due to widespread use. So you don't need to get offended, nobody will call your peepee Dark Souls - it's not hard at all after all, and it's shorter than the broken sword.

A friend online randomly sent me a PC copy of La Mulana years ago. It didn't really play right on my PC.
But now it's coming out for Switch so I can finally see what all the hubbub was about.

Remember playing the original translation of the original La Mulana in 2007 before any clues or walkthroughs were around. What a fun and exciting time. Look at it now!
I barely got anywhere in the first La-Mulana which I got off Steam about a month ago. I still think the game is a masterpiece.
For those who don't know this is basically a love letter to a game called Maze of Galious for the Msx computer.
These are some of the best indie games ever made

I played the original remake on PC long ago. Excellent music and solid gameplay. Challenging as well. Nice to see these games get some love.

These game are really really cool. If you really like Metroidvanias or very hard puzzles very much check these games out. The difficulty might not be for everyone but the right person will absolutely love these games.
(Also a really fantastic soundtrack too!)

Poor Sakit. First he was betrayed by Abuto and marked as a heretic, then he was left to rot in the Eternal Prison, with a statue in his likeness guarding La-Mulana, and now he is the first boss to be presented and defeated in this trailer.

Discovered the original just two months ago. Got stuck somewhere in the tower of the goddess; still really awesome game. Highly recommended. But I prefer the MSX graphics over the remakes tbh
And quick tip: Don't read the stone tablet twice, which says, to don't read it again. Trust me, it's a big mistake xD
@i W i t n e s s Also don't jump into the spikes. Except the spikes that aren't real. You can jump into those. But they look exactly like all other spikes but trust me, they're not real. The easiest way to check is to jump into every spike pit. If you die, they're real spikes. If you're still alive, illusory spikes! >:P

Theyre very good indie games but they're older, definitely worth checking out if this is your thing
Imagine symphony of the night if it kept the old castlevania difficulty and was trickier to the player too (not every puzzle/treasure is to help you).

Don't expect easy game, this fill with puzzle and at some point you will be bored by it coz how many of that puzzle is, but set aside the flaw this is quite good game and as you can see this is what Indiana Jones game should be, solving puzzle in dungeon and fight boss to seek treasure.

The soundtrack sounds great, but the SFXs are quite bizarre...
I feel like Nintendo should give us a few Nintendo coins so while we are stuck at home because... corrrrrrr.. so we have a game to play. :)
