"The Legends of Zelda: Four Swords" was the only Zelda game I've played in my life. What's even more crazy is that it was not only the 25th Anniversary version on the Nintendo DSi, it was free. Can't wait to play it on the bigger screen!
Four Sword Adventures for the Gamecube is so underrated, and limited by the fact you needed the GBA. It really deserves a remaster with enhancements such as online play and not needing a GBA for second screen.
Playing Zelda Four Swords with another student on the bus rides to school and back home from back then were the best times of owning a GBA. Good times.
My siblings and I bonded so much over this game it’s definitely a core memory so I’m glad to see it again! There’s four of us so we always played as a certain color and we’re actually all getting matching tattoos per our color we played as !

That’s what I wanna know. I’ve played the original to death but barely touched Adventures (thanks insane GBA link cable setup).
Finally more than 5 people can experience that darned bonus dungeon provided they got a few friends.
Not to mention a whole mainline Zelda game that’s been inaccessible for over a decade if you didn’t have two original copies of the game, two Gameboy advances, and a multiplayer cable. The last time it was playable beyond the original means was Four Swords anniversary edition released on the DSi and 3DS, but they eventually took it down (and now the bonus content from that version is lost forever unless you were lucky enough to download it).
Thank you, Nintendo! From 1985 to now been gaming on Nintendo consoles and having a blast.

@@Z-Man7 yes, but also keep in mind that the sequel Four Swords Adventures had a single player and multiplayer mode, which allowed you to still play the game if you didn't have people to play with. even the spiritual successor Triforce Heroes let you play the game alone if you wanted to, although it was brutally difficult in single player which incentivized you to play with friends.

A Link to the past GBA was my first Zelda Game, and I remember the day I bought it. Well I was 7-8 Years old so actually my parents bought it, but I chose it. And after 22 years I will finally be able to play Four Swords, that was always impossible because I had no friends, and especially none with a GBA and Zelda.
I still have this game, and I remember when it came out and I played with my friends.
I played this during high school was such a blast

Explain how? I love four swords and four swords adventure but i find it really hard to see four swords adventure being ported. You need a main screen everyone looks at plus the GBA screen you look at individually
@@VonFirflirch I suppose they could have it just be the main screen, but whenever a player enters a house/cave a small screen appears in one of the corners. When three players enter a house/cave it basically would become a four-way split screen, and if all player are inside then it could become four-way split screen with the overworld as a tiny screen in the middle
I swear this game's only problem is that it released one generation too early. That's its only problem. If it released on the Wii, DS, 3DS or the Switch it would've been an instant hit. That's really sad bru
The nostalgia is hitting me hard. Me and my sisters played the original 4 Swords way back when about 20 years ago now as little kids. Hopefully I can get some friends to play this with me.
I remember my cousin had this one and we were both interested in Four Swords. But I didn't have a GBA so all we could do was watch the intro only. Hope to finally try it out after all these years!
I didn't know you could play locally (EDIT: they meant local wireless with multiple consoles 💀)! I'm about to do the saddest playthrough ever... But it's necessary in order to unlock a new special Dungeon in A Link to the Past only available in this version of the game!
How can you unlock the new dungeon, do you have to beat all the game first?
@@isxanab yeah you have to beat Four Swords. I don't remember if you have to beat ALttP too but the new Dungeon is in the Dark World

My very first Zelda game! I used to play Four Swords with my father! I can finally hope to 100% this game this time!
When I got this game back in the day, I couldn't play Four Swords because there was no single player mode and I couldn't get 3 friends together that also owned a copy of the game. Good thing the Anniversary Edition released years later on DS/3DS which added a single player mode. At least now with online being a thing, maybe I can find 3 other people to play the original Four Swords with. Also this version of A Link to the Past removes the secret room named after that guy.

If it wasn't for the lesser music quality, this version would be a complete upgrade over the SNES version.

Will there be a difference between the PAL and NTSC version like in the original? Like for the credit song, after the Palace of the Four Swords, the song is different in PAL or in NTSC

Hey Nintendo, CONGRATULATIONS. You managed to match the runtime of my fan-made trailer (1:28). I'm amazed and I love it.
Nice to see Four Swords getting a similar treatment as Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. Before this re-release, you could only play this on an actual GBA with 3 other people while tethered to that Link Cable.
4 Swords remains one of the only mainline games I haven’t beaten yet. I’m so ready.... once I can get everyone together to play that is
One of my FAVORITE Gameboy games has officially hit the Switch and I couldn't be happier! One day I hope we can get something like Four Swords Adventures from the GameCube onto it as well!
That was lucky to play link to the past on the Nintendo switch online which was the super Nintendo version, of course. And years ago, I was super lucky to play the GameCube version of four swords.

Just played&beat A Link To The Past (on SNES Switch) for the first time a few days ago... I can't even look at gameplay without tearing up. I felt nostalgia while playing and it was all new to me... 10/10. Changed my life, i'm not even kidding! Four swords looks interesting but ALTTP set the bar so high for me.

Considering the online multiplayer capabilities of this game, this is a smart decision to release the game now! It also means more players have the chance to try the additional content you could unlock!
The GBA version is unfortunately missing some levels that were added in the DS port:
- 3 levels based on ALTTP, Link’s Awakening, & Zelda 1
- 3 Difficult final challenge levels
Still a great game nonetheless, and the GBA version has some exclusive content in ALTTP that can be unlocked from Four Swords anyways.
I hope I can actually find someone to play four swords with me because you have to be able to beat that game in order to unlock everything, including an extra special bonus dungeon in the Link to the Past side

Still have my Game Boy advance version, me and my friend linked up to beat four swords to unlock the fore Uber bosses in the pyramid , you get to fight the first 4 bosses of the Dark World but their Ubers then if you beat them you get to fight 4 shadow links at once I feel bad for anyone that got to miss out on that on the Game Boy Advance version

This is, in my honest opinion, the definitive version of 1 of the best games in the Zelda series! With the first ever Four Swords game thrown in to boot!

My favorite part about the actuality of this game is that you can only play Link to the Past. In order to play Four swords, you have to have somebody else who also has the same stupid overpriced package and wants to play it karma is what I'm guessing. I don't know why they wouldn't have reworked this to be a solo thing as well

This is amazing! Play two games that you probably already own or have digitally bought in older consoles now on the switch, just pay a subscription and you are ready to go! And don’t worry Nintendo will make sure you can’t play them on the next console since you don’t own any license here… I love Nintendo and their customer love.

I hope that when they say "up to 4 players", that means that singleplayer is an option like the anniversary edition I didn't get to finish on a friend's DS back in the day.
Nope even back then on the GBA you could NEVER play 4 Swords via SINGLE PLAYER mode at all it was a 2 player only game as THE MINIMUM required but your not really missing anything the Palace of the 4 Swords dungeon just has EVERY Dark World Link to the past boss in it + the 4 colors version of Link from 4 Swords as the LAST boss of it.
I wonder how Palace of the Four Sword will work. Will we still need to beat Four Swords to unlock it?

Palace of the four swords is a Game boy advance exclusive dungeon scene. In A Link to the past it was placed in the corner of the pyramid, but you can't actually act with that until you beat four swords.
I used to have the official strategy guide from 2002 and it was the only way I knew anything about four Swords past the title screen because I never been able to hook them up to multiplayer
After seeing this, I do wonder if we'll see the gamecube version/DS version of 4 swords get released on Switch someday.
i didn't know that ALTP was on the Gameboy advanced until last week's Direct
This was long overdue. I kinda expected this to happen when the DS came out. Put the ALttP/FS cartridge in the GBA slot, and then be able to play with people online.
Well if this becomes a success, I hope we get Four Swords Adventures on Switch too (the often forgotten Gamecube Zelda game). If I were Nintendo, I would release The Wind Waker/Four Sword Adventures/Twilight Princess HD Pack for the Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary, in 2026. And I hope it'd still be for the Switch if the Switch 2 is indeed backwards compatible.

There’s a new dungeon only unlocked after beating Four Swords.
Just the last maps of the Ice Palace itself on the SNES game you COULD beat the 6th Dark world dungeon first and use the Red Cane from its Big Key Chest on a Switch in the Ice Palace itself making it easier to reach the Ice Palace boss room.
The GBA version placed that Same Switch that its impossible for Link to reach that spot normally and USE the Red Cane on it on the GBA version so yes the Ice Palace last maps require to place a Blue colored Ice block on that same Ice Palace Switch the HARD way.

There is something I don’t quite get since I don’t own a switch yet, do you need the remade console(if there is one cuz I think I saw one once), or can you play these on the switch itself?
There are currently three models of the Switch available, and they all play all of the games. In order of cheapest to most expensive: Switch Lite, standard Switch, Switch OLED. The standard Switch has an LCD screen and comes with a dock so you can play on your TV and detachable controllers. The Switch OLED has a much better OLED screen, improved speakers, improved kickstand, and more internal storage compared to the standard model. It also comes with a dock and detachable controllers for TV play. The Switch Lite is smaller than the other models, has an LCD panel similar to the standard model, and can only be played in handheld mode due to not having a compatible dock and the controls not being detachable.
@@isbragg might save up for an OLED unless Switch 2 gets announced, along with this, there are quite a few good amount of games in intrigued about, and I certainly do hope all Metroid games reach the switch because I’ve been dying to play the whole saga to get ready for the new Prime
@@sf936 The only Metroid games missing on Switch at the moment are Prime 2 and 3, Other M, and all of the spin-offs on DS and 3DS (Prime Pinball, Prime Hunters, Federation Force). And Samus Returns if you count remakes, but its original game (Metroid II: Return of Samus) is on Switch.
@@isbragg yeah, the ones I’m still expecting are Samus Returns, other M(so underrrated) and prime 2 and 3, though I’m hoping those last two get remasters like the first one did since I’ve heard good things about it

As a Link to the Past expert I had the gba version for a long time never beat it till the GBA version came to switch yesterday, and I’ve played the original game on Super Nintendo a thousand times and you know what the GBA version wasn’t nearly as bad as people made it out to be, now I’d still grab the Super Nintendo version anyday but the GBA version was like a compliment to the original masterpiece

@@EazyEricNah, this version is better as a whole because it includes and works with ALttP. Playing both unlocks stuff in both and gives us arguably the best version of ALttP with extra content, including the multiplayer itself 😂

It's like they added four swords anniversary edition and finally added an online mode.

How do you get to the 4 swords part? I booted it up and it was just A Link to the Past.
Edit: I had to start a game before I could see the option for the other game when I booted it again.
