@@sebastianalarcon817 only because some key developer of Saga and their other games(also Saga fan)reminded them of Saga existence,and yes the mobile games and browser Saga has enough successful loyal following in Japan to guarantee a project

This is completely incredible. The SaGa series is getting so much love lately and it deserves it. I can only hope the Frontier 2 remaster is on its way down the pipeline.
My guess is they are going to release this along SaGa Frontier 2.
Frontier 2 is likely going to be a remake. They wouldn't have skipped from SaGa Frontier to Minstrel Song with the remasters if they weren't doing a full remake of SF2
@@Jordan3DS The Frontier 2 remaster's release seems to be up in the air despite hints pointing at it, which is why I think they're going with a remaster. Remaking it would be cool too, but a remaster would allow people to experience the original with the same bonus features Frontier got.
@@Flegan777 But why would they skip over it and do Minstrel Song first, then? Up to that point they've done every remaster in release order. Plus, SF2 has so many problems that a remaster wouldn't be able to fix it.
@@Jordan3DS It could be any number of reasons. Perhaps they had trouble locating the original source code and files, so they needed to delay it until they could find them. This has happened before with a few remasters or enhanced versions, like Kingdom Hearts 1.5, though in that case they completely lost the original files, so they had to rebuild Kingdom Hearts 1 from the ground up. As for problems, Frontier 2 wasn't the unfinished wonder Frontier 1 was, so I wonder what you're referring to exactly. The game didn't have very much in the way of unused content nor does it have any exploits, bugs, or glitches to speak of.
I am Japanese, I know this game is one of the best JRPG. I hope it would be popular oversease. it is worth playing

Apparently this was quoted as a revolutionary JRPG. Curious to see if the remake withstood the test of time.

It very much is and it does something so special with its succession mechanic that I have yet to see in any other jrpg
It's still one of the most unique and innovative RPGs of all time, even decades later. The original had some problems so I'm really happy to see a remake to iron them out!

It absolutely is. Go try the remastered version of the SNES game. It's on just about everything now and is a great game in its own right. If you grab the PC versions, there's mods to add speed toggles too that work exactly like most modern ports of these games tend to. Kind of an odd omission from RS2 and 3, actually, since Minstrel Song has it built in. The remake looks like it's going to overhaul the battle mechanics to be more like the newer games (specifically more like Scarlet Grace and Emerald Beyond.)
Well THIS was unexpected! Romancing SaGa 2 *JUST* became my second favorite SaGa game (after SaGa 2) since it only recently came out in English (first SaGa game released on Switch, never had a complete fan translation). I am DELIGHTED to see it looking so good! Especially with this art style and character designs! This game is a dream for people who love making custom parties of generic classes. Think of it as a hyper evolved FF1. As it so happens, those are my favorite kind of RPG (so DQ3 remake is ALSO very exciting).

@@quanthinh3487 you can do in the order you want. I started with 2, a lot prefers 3 but my fav is for the second. Soo much ideas in advance for the time it was released.

@@kevin-guachin Ah man, I love Emerald Beyond. I'm actually on my 5th playthrough. The combat is insanely fun and I love the off the wall plots between the worlds and how they play out differently each time. I know it's not for everyone but I'm really enjoying it.

It's kind of hard to believe. Not to mention Kawazu said a Saga Frontier 2 Remaster is in the works as well. If they release that along with RS2 Remake, this really will be the best year for Saga to me.

My personal favourite Saga game even after having played emerald beyond! Crazy this came out of nowhere. I hope they change the branches slightly so that those who already played the first game wont already know what choices to pick and where to go

Every Nintendo direct I feel has one sleeper hit which is a random game that I find interesting and this was it for this one, I was just really intrigued by the concept and the RPG elements looked super good
You won't be disappointed
Original as a remaster is available already and it's pretty awesome, just dated with its mechanics. This looks like it streamlines a lot of the complicated stuff and builds on and modernizes what was already an amazing, though clunky game. This will be a major treat.
This'll likely end up being one of the best remakes ever made!

I really like how the battles look especially the ability animations. The graphics somehow reminds me of Trials of Mana remake and DQXI together.

Man I really wasn't expecting this. I've played the steam ports of RS2 but the second game especially felt like it would improve a lot with slight tuning on the mechanics. Liking the graphical style they are going for too.
Cant wait to see the Brutal Mario / Super Kitiku Mario Final Boss in full 3D HD 😅

Finally Romancing saga2 came to Western countries. This is the legendary and revolutionary JRPG. I can’t wait to play this. Hope people love this game and sold well!!
Maybe just me, but I seem to prefer Square's lower fidelity games over their AAAA games. Not to say Final Fantasy XVI wasn't fun, but I seem to enjoy Octopath, Trials of Mana, etc more.
Any other players of Brutal Mario excited to see the Seven Heroes, which where what the Seven Koopalings were based on, get remade?
Super stoked for this, it looks fantastic and loving the music. I didn't realize this was getting a physical release, let's just say I reserved a copy. Between this and Minstrel Song International getting a physical release next year? The SaGa series is getting a lot of love.

2 getting a full remake before 3 is kind of a surprise.
Love this series, doesnt get enough attention these days unless you were one of the lucky people who actually played through an entire SaGa game, too many people that rather be told what to do next or be brainless than actually paying attention. I would love to see a remake of SaGa Frontier or Romancing SaGa 3 as well please :)

Each game is different from each other and they tend to focus on gameplay before story. Approach with caution.

Looks excellent. Day one buy. I am an old school jrpg lover so I will always prefer the 2D style (Adore the HD 2D of many modern titles) but this looks sweet too. Great announcement!

I'm so glad Squeenix is still sticking to these remakes and HD-2D style games. I love FF Rebirth but I dig these games too!
Finally, a REMAKE instead of another lazy emulation-based "remaster." I hope there's a LINEAR MODE for new Saga fans. I love Kenji Itoi's musical scores in the Saga franchise. But I always found the games to be too difficult and nonlinear.
I've only played the original SaGa trilogy on Game Boy but this looks really good and might be in my top 3 games I'm excited about from that Direct.
