NR is great and iconic now but papyrus really got started with their game in 1994. NR2003 is just a game in that series

NASCAR should follow up on this documentary from 2021, and make a documentary about online league racing (Roblox, NASCAR Heat 5, NR2003, and iRacing just to name a few).
Nascar racing and indycar racing 2 from papyrus where my first experiences in racing games. Ever since then I've preferred more sim based racing than arcade style
I've been expecting, any day now, to be able to ghost into a real race.
I don't know what iracing is waiting for. We know they can surely position each driver precisely with GPS technology.
It could mean some big bucks, I think.
Who wouldn't like to know how they size up against the pros?
At one point, I believe Formula E wanted to do this, but I can't remember what ever happened to that project.

NR 2 was what got me hooked. They Thunder series was great for career mode but nothing beat the racing on NR and spent most of my time on 2,3, 1999 season, Legends, and still to this day NR2003
The EA segment has an incorrect detail. They weren't the first to have 43 cars racing at once. That would go to Papyrus on PC and Monster Games on Console (NASCAR Heat 2002 for Xbox which is the version with 43 cars on track released a few months before NASCAR Thunder 2002)
I think nascar is just mentioning the most popular to THEM.

The EA games on the original XBOX in the early 2000's made me such a huge fan of NASCAR and racing in general. Easy to pickup. Hard to master. Fun to play.
First stock car game I played was Days of Thunder, those were some tough times lol
I know NASCAR Thunder 2004 was the best one, even though I've never played that game. The best NASCAR game that I have played that is one of the best in my opinion is NTGIL.

Nr2003 to this day is the best option.
But good point, nascar legends released in 1999 simulates the 1970 cup season. If a game came out today, it would be the 94 season.

Nascar thunder 2003 2004 was the best and the last nascar i played til they came out with heat 4 and 5 they ones in between sucked balls only thing they need to do now is put damage back in it where you can have yellow flags and all the good stuff they took away from it and made it cheap feeling.

How come Gran Turismo 4 on the 20 year old PS2 still looks more realistic than NASCAR HEAT 5 ? Never do a games deal with EA Sports unless you want the game to look exactly the same every year and always a decade at least behind everyone else.... Oh I forgot, you already did!

Oddly the Heat series are done by Monster games, which was noted on Rich Garcia's introduction. I still think Dirt to Daytona was their best NASCAR console game and that was released in 2003.
