Downtown Dallas is nice! I grew up going to Downtown on the weekends back in the 80's & 90's hanging out at the West end, Dallas Alley, Deep Ellum and lower Greenville Ave but I had to get out of Dallas because one the weather and I mean the Heat and also Dallas isn't what it used to be but my new favorite is Downtown Chicago. I do have allot of awesome memories from back then and I remember back in 93-95 living in the Manor House and those weekends!

This is my first look at the Discovery District - neat. I had no idea, even though I once worked just a couple of blocks away.
And wow are things hopping for it being at night and downtown. Like in the park. Seems like a lot of people are living downtown now.

Yeah that was the first time I seen the discovery district also at night and was amazed also by all the kids playing in the park felt like I was in New York.

@@JohnDaniels dallas has felt like new york to me from driving in it alone, looks and all. Trains, light rail, buildings, liveliness. Lotta modern industry there and somethins poppin every minute. Dallas and DFW should be a 51st state
It definitely was New York when I spent time in downtown.

Does no one else think it's weird that there are no patio cafes or sidewalk seating or live music??????

You have it in other areas of the city and two blocks over. This is commerce and it’s definitely still coming out from the Euro

He's on the wrong street for that. Elm St. (two streets over) has a couple patio restaurants. You can go to Deep Ellum for live music.

Great job. Do you remember the day of the week and time of day? I'm shocked at how much activity there is. I worked there long ago and it was dead, dead at night. Even the West End has been on the verge of death at times, though I used to remember it being really hopping; so this really surprises me. Dallas had been famous for revving up during the workday and then everyone leaves at night - at least from the central downtown area. Of course nearby-ish places like Greenville and McKinney and Deep Ellum have had times of lots going on, or the AA center, etc.

Hi Bill 👋. Yeah it's pretty exciting that in downtown Dallas, it was a Saturday night, around 9:00 to 10:00.
You should get your bicycle and ride it down there one night 😀

Friday and Saturday nights get very busy. Sometimes if the weather allows, people will start their weekend on Thursday night, by Sunday night it's back to being dead again. I miss living in Downtown.

Downtown Dallas went at the turn of the century from a population of 200 people to today with over 15,000 people living in downtown Dallas. I think that might answer the question. There are many more people that live in downtown Dallas. And that’s not even counting uptown Dallas just right across the highway from downtown. There are approximately 42,000 people leaving in the surrounding areas of downtown Dallas.

That's one block is the only live spot in all of dwntown Dallas. The rest is like a ghost town, besides the homeless people wondering around.

    Hello thanks for your video
I need your help to choice a city where i can start my new life in usa as an immigrant visa holder coming from Algeria this summer, is Dallas a good choice or San Francisco? Or another city ?
I am really very confused 😫
    Best regards

Some of the bigger cities are getting so packed with people, especially Dallas. The people are coming from all over so take that consideration. It's hard to find a place to rent or buy because so many people have come here and the traffic I don't know. I would think of looking somewhere else and best of luck to you. I've lived here in Dallas all my life but once I retire I'm most likely will move away. It's just gotten too crowded.

Very nice city but the people are so boring you're not taking advantage of what they have.

You sure didn't hurt my impression of the Google Pixar XL-4. On this and the other video from that night you were concerned with the night shots. Actually, that camera did a better job straight up than it did with that bright flashlight lighting things.
