thank you for the comment, my favorite thing about making these videos is when people watch and it brings up nostalgic memories. so it makes my day to hear this
I've been really missing home lately, so I've been watching a lot of videos of driving through dallas, but this is hands down the best one I've seen yet. Dallas at night is so esthetic and brings back so many memories. Thank you for this so much
I'm a native. I LOVE the downtown during Christmas especially walking down Main Street people watching. If you had gone a block further up Commerce from ATT Discovery Zone you would have seen a great place to hang out, The Stadler Hotel and Residents. It is a very eclectic place/high rise with several bars and restaurants, a bar-bowling alley with hotel rooms on the lower floors and apartments above them. It also has a salon, a barber, and a convenience store. It's claim to fame is that Ike and Tina Turner stayed there and where Tina ran out on Ike and never looked back.
thanks for the low down on such a cool place. def want to visit their on one of my trips to Dallas. i can also image how nice downtown would look during Christmas time. guess im gonna put that on my video to do list...
I always said if Dallas had beaches like Los Angeles, the DFW metro would be even more amazing and possibly the best metro Area of USA. It feels like, the present, and future of the USA is already - Texas. Houston is a huge, amazing place. Austin is building a lot of amazing suburbs and even San Antonio is doing the same. Dallas is growing so fast and already has the most amazing suburbs of the USA. On top of that we have so many fortune 1000 companies moving to Texas.....
Nice! I mean it’s not NYC,Chicago&&especially Houston But I have to admit unlike Htown where it’s skyline is beautiful day&&Nite Dallas only shines at nite&&by day tht shine fades!!!
If you're in this city and see cars with the name "Ewing" on the back, it's not a joke or reference to the famous TV show. There really is a small network of GM/Subaru dealerships around Dallas under that name. PS: the chairman's name is Fin Ewing, not JR (fortunately!)
I live in the Dallas metroplex and have for the last 28 years. As cities go ,in my opinion Dallas is one of the most boring and the downtown street patterns are a headache. There isn’t one cohesive area you could go to downtown to make it worth your while. If I wanted to be charitable I would say the area near Love Field is marginally charming and interesting. Beyond that there is nothing significant to draw me to spend time downtown. It seems like Dallas was established on a few major office buildings with no real thought to planning how it could be an interesting urban bastion of culture and enjoyment.
Right past the last light you stopped at in the last minute of filming, on the same street you were driving on is the exact spot where John F. Kennedy was killed. There's an X in the middle of the street that marks the spot.
Wow ! so cool that you noticed that, and the first to comment on it. being from Texas and knowing the history behind the spot. i knew i wanted to end the video around it. thank you so much for watching & commenting !
i lived in dallas for 10 years its good to see my city at night.

Have you met Sue Ellen Ewing? She’s still around, shopping and stuff
havent seen her on the streets since 1986. 😆

Appreciate you sharing your perspective! It's interesting to hear the different opinions people have about different cities.
