Gingium stick with it though bud we all start somewhere my first drift car was a ke70 corolla with 4age with worn out rings. as the japanese say if you can drift a low powered car with no assists you can drift anything
When you get new brakes, be sure to paint them green or mariner blue, will look awesome. Can't wait to see more of this, one of the more fun ones to watch.
Wow! What an awesome day that must have been! You are very lucky to have got a great instructor for your first time out, that will help you immensely going forward, he was able to get you doing things the right way and smoothly before you learnt any bad habits! I imagine that would have been an expensive day? Track day costs, fill up on fuel twice, presents for Audrey to say thanks for standing in the sun all day videoing you...
I would had been super nervous on track. That was really nice driving tho, looks like the Miata is very well balanced. Pulling out of the curves was smooth.
Reminded me of Forza runs! Nice track day video. Liked the cabin views with instructor and without. The cam footage from top of windshield was wicked smooth and, again, so Forza-like. Great work.
Nice driving, track events are so much fun. I think it's a good thing you did the coolant reroute, the car probably appreciates it. Maybe a rotor, pad, and fluid swap like you did on the rx7 would help with the brake fade issue.
lagit this is why i like you content cos it not just focused on one car this channel has some variety to eg off road track and drift #keepupthegoodwork man
I have EBC Yellow stuff pads and rotors. Highly highly recommend them. No squealing at all, no fade that I've noticed on auto cross courses, and it's scary how fast you can stop with them. Con is they make a lot of dust.
Damn gin you where going so smooth around the corners. Pretty clean project car. And pretty nice watching it around the track! Can't wait for more videos like these!
I saw your comment about supercharging the rally miata, I suggest a centrifugal supercharger for the mpg to stay reasonable and because they are easier to work on, not much has to be changed on the car, and I just like them more! Anyways great vid and good luck on more videos and your builds!
get used to Porches Corvettes ect., here at my local Autox in Central Cali that's mainly what you see, but there's usually about 4-5 NA miatas and like 2 NBs. you did pretty awesome for a first timer! make more of these vids but becareful cuz you'll find urself putting more mods on Molly 😂😂
After you're done racing, you're adrenaline wears off and you're completely out of energy and that's why you get sleepy. It happens to me after every single race day
Another great video. I enjoy videos like this. The Autobahn race track is an amazing track, however I've yet to drive the full track. I've only done the north section so far.
Great vid man like always you're doing a amazing job on the track ! The sequence at the end with the GoPro was so imersive ! Look like a Froza's view For the GoPro that you have on your helmet maybe trying to raise it on the level of your eye or just a little bit up to have a better vision on the road.
Just an idea for the future, you should try mounting a camera above your exhaust exit just for audio so we hear more car noise :D -Edit- Harry's Laptimer can also be used to (as you might imagine) show lap times.
Nice nice video!!! To stop GoPro audio from sounding like that, put a small pop filter or a small piece of an eggcrate mattress cover. That's what i do
i have a 96 m stock motor and if im even on the interstate 65mph+ the motor starts to build crank case pressure and the only way to relieve it is to let off the gas and let it suck the pcv valve via vacuum from the intake. if your going to track the car install a catch can so you dont have any blow by. keeps me from leaking oil any way. when i forst got the car i was driving to work every day at 70mph for 20 min and going threw 1/2Qrt a week. replaced the cam seals that were leaking and bang started to leak again. when winter hit i drove the back roads 55mph and doesnt leak a drop but im on/off gas all the time.
@gingium I'm pretty confident your oil leak(s) is coming from the seals that you replaced using the pic tool. Didnt look like you were being too delicate with it either. I've read on several timing belt tutorials to not use those as it scratches the surface of the crank and the sealing surface which creates a leak path where the surfaces used to be flush. Just figured I'd give you a heads up maybe something to look into if you havebt already. Good luck!
Wishlist for the RX-7 FC. 1)NEW WHEELS AND TIRES 2)REPAINT OR PLASTI-DIP YOUR CAR. 3) START BUILDING THE ENGINE AND DONT JUST TURBO IT IN THE BEGINNING.
your downshifts are on point! like someone pointed out this seems like it comes more natural to you compared to drifting (forza 6 is finally paying off 😂😂) keep going at both of them and find your cup of tea. Awesome videos, keep at it 👍
Honestly I don't think a turbo miata would be as fun as an N/A one on the track. The biggest fun I find about my NA 1.8 at my local track (Knockhill) in the dry you can keep it flat out for all but one corner, sure its not as fast but its super fun and easy to keep it at 10/10ths. And in the wet you can still keep it flat out, controling the tail with countersteer, I maintain that a stock power 140bhp MX5 will run out of power & grip up before you run out of lock & spin, making it very fun. With a turbo you need to worry about so much more. EDIT: Good man for getting some tuition though, possibly the best money you can invest on a car in terms of laptime.
Yes, I agree with you mate. He is one the best car youtubers, I love his DIY videos, tutorial tips and other stuff. Hopefully the popularity wont ruin him..
i saw your tweet saying this video is doing poopy, keep your head up man this was sick and you are a natural on track, give it some time and it should do better
Great driving.. Might want to invest in a bigger brake kit since you'll be tracking Molly now. Also, a heat shield for the brake master cylinder would be wise. ChrisFix has a tutorial on how to make one.. Should make one for the RX7 as well cuz drift car
You got a turbo miata and an offroad miata.. is it time for a spec miata maybe? ;) you did a good job for being first time out on track, keep it smooth and keep practicing
Everyone is talking about turbocharging the rx7 but in my opinion it would be cool if you supercharged it, so you would have a steady power band when drifting. Also because you don't want a bunch of turbo lag as a beginner.
Ebc yellow stuff brake pads , they will make a difference. They are in the midrange price area of brake pads but they don't fade, never cheep out on brakes
1:Try putting some aero on Molly i know it doesn't have that much power but it will probably help you with cornering 😉2: Try to build the engine on Molly cause you are going to get used to the power realy Quick
Which track was this? Hope to see you in futur events? Which organization do you race with? I raced my E46 M3 on Nurburgring and Hockenheimring. Since I moved to the US, I went to Dominion Raceway and Summit Point. I'm doing VIR next, eventually want to go to Watkins Glen, Road America, Road Atlanta, and Sebring.
Bro! I actually do participate in trackdays too! I have another advice for you! :) Try NOT to rev match unless you are heel toeing! Use the ''brake of the engine'' in order to slow down. Rev matching in the beginning of your track journey costs time. Using engine braking, you keep the brakes cooler and you help the car rotate a bit more. Try rev matching quite later. In fact you will need it when you are going to drive up to the limit and your brakes are gon'be 6 piston ceramic and stuff! :P Heel toe material! You know! Once more, well done though! Great ''πρωτη επαφη'' as we say in greek! (''First contact'' in exact translation - ''Initiation'' meaning)
Sorry about the GoPro audio! The wind really screwed it up, it will be fixed for next event!
Gingium it's chilled bro when is the rx7 getting a turbo and engine mods
Gingium what happen to gta
Aidan Keith probably not for a while. He said he's keeping it reliable and only doing supporting mods first
your my favorite TH-cam!!
Gingium when will you paint the rx7
"were already late"
5 secs later
"i actully dont know when it starts"
a few seconds later
"we are gonna show up at 7"
2 seconds later
"its early"
"its gonna take an hour"
***We're***
praise kek fellow kekistani
"the car is running perfect"
1 second later
"except for this large oil leak that I can't find the source of"
*We're *actually
good driving mate you definitely have a natural talent for time attack and circuit work. you look alot more comfortable doing this than drifting
+Graeme Mcfarland Yes im defintely better at this than drifting lol
Gingium stick with it though bud we all start somewhere my first drift car was a ke70 corolla with 4age with worn out rings. as the japanese say if you can drift a low powered car with no assists you can drift anything
Gingium molly sounds mean af
That's what a nice racing wheel and some sim racing does for ya ;)
but drifting is way different than this so you just don't have enough practice but it's starting to look promising
Oh man Molly looks so good at that track, this is where she belongs! :)
you have no idea how long ive been waiting for this, lol
Beautiful. Car held up well and you took the time to learn the car and the track.
I never thought I'd live to see the day that a Miata passes by a Ferrari (even though the Ferrari let him).
+TheRandomGamer 238 Lol right?
That last bit with the camera atop the car with the music was my favorite bit of the track day, pair that with a pov and hell yea
My favorite TH-cam!!! Keep up the good work man. Been here since the ginja ninja
+Troy Anthony Damn thats a loooonnnggg time! Thanks for sticking around!
Troy Anthony boy i been here since he was doing just forza drag races without a steering wheel
I wish that I had this kind of instruction on my first tracks day that would have been amazing.
should've put the pop ups down more aerodynamic, faster lap times😉
They're stuck open
he has got the stuck in place with those stupid angry eyes
KAL 1 I keep finding you man
Simon Busby they're more sleepy than angry
And put the windows up, it creates a lot more drag.
When you get new brakes, be sure to paint them green or mariner blue, will look awesome.
Can't wait to see more of this, one of the more fun ones to watch.
molly looks so tiny compared to everyone else
Molly, the little Miata that could :)
want a medal?
Albert S. 4 doors for more whores 😂😂
This was the first day I subscribed to you. When this video was posted. Love the progress over the years man!
Great work.
Molly sounds dope.
Congrates on the good track day tons of cars passed and for your first time no spin outs good work dude repping miata life proudly on that track
You did awesome!!!always great to have an awesome instructor!!! Love the track videos please go to more events
Nice driving, track events are so much fun. I think it's a good thing you did the coolant reroute, the car probably appreciates it. Maybe a rotor, pad, and fluid swap like you did on the rx7 would help with the brake fade issue.

Wowwwww Molly is such a beast on the track, and you learned fast man. Great video :D
Damn gin you where going so smooth around the corners. Pretty clean project car. And pretty nice watching it around the track! Can't wait for more videos like these!
keep up the awesome work with the vids
ps change the diff fluid in the rx7 and for the love of God when are the coils coming
+Simon Busby Tomorrow! :D
I saw your comment about supercharging the rally miata, I suggest a centrifugal supercharger for the mpg to stay reasonable and because they are easier to work on, not much has to be changed on the car, and I just like them more! Anyways great vid and good luck on more videos and your builds!
9:05 I'm having so fun
Nice job man!! Looking forward to more of THESE track days. Too bad you already welded that rx7 diff, she'd be a track beast! Cheers man
get used to Porches Corvettes ect., here at my local Autox in Central Cali that's mainly what you see, but there's usually about 4-5 NA miatas and like 2 NBs. you did pretty awesome for a first timer! make more of these vids but becareful cuz you'll find urself putting more mods on Molly 😂😂
Not boring at all to watch. Please do more of these videos :)
After you're done racing, you're adrenaline wears off and you're completely out of energy and that's why you get sleepy. It happens to me after every single race day
+David Wrobel Yep, I was exhaustrd
Another great video. I enjoy videos like this. The Autobahn race track is an amazing track, however I've yet to drive the full track. I've only done the north section so far.
Watching you build and race your cars has taught me so much
Great vid man like always you're doing a amazing job on the track !
The sequence at the end with the GoPro was so imersive ! Look like a Froza's view

Molly is so amazing! she sure stands out from the rest even though there are many luxurious cars in that event.😁😁
I love the way before you turn you twiddle your fingers 😂 great job man!
One of the reasons I started looking at Miatas. Looks so fun!
You have an absolutely amazing car! Great to see you having so much fun on the track!
Hell yeah track day my dude. Also,I love your content when you're working in your cars.
Nice nice video!!! To stop GoPro audio from sounding like that, put a small pop filter or a small piece of an eggcrate mattress cover. That's what i do
Love it man keep up the good work-maybe a video about some brakes on the turbo Miata?? Maybe ? Lol
you need to make something to circulate the air on the brakes, and do you know how to heel-toe?
i have a 96 m stock motor and if im even on the interstate 65mph+ the motor starts to build crank case pressure and the only way to relieve it is to let off the gas and let it suck the pcv valve via vacuum from the intake. if your going to track the car install a catch can so you dont have any blow by. keeps me from leaking oil any way. when i forst got the car i was driving to work every day at 70mph for 20 min and going threw 1/2Qrt a week. replaced the cam seals that were leaking and bang started to leak again. when winter hit i drove the back roads 55mph and doesnt leak a drop but im on/off gas all the time.
We told you about the brakes a long while ago, Caleb lol. Great video. I love the Miata!

Vids are getting better and better. Keep it up.
8:42 damn molly sounds so good!
8:43 ohhhhh
dude, I love your miata so much. It's such a cool little car
Wishlist for the RX-7 FC. 1)NEW WHEELS AND TIRES 2)REPAINT OR PLASTI-DIP YOUR CAR. 3) START BUILDING THE ENGINE AND DONT JUST TURBO IT IN THE BEGINNING.
+Gundeep Virdi Most likely building the engine before paint, but we'll see!
Gingium you actually replied OMG😮😱😱😱
please don't plasti-dip the rx-7
Gingium but a new paint job will add 5 horsepower immediately
Gundeep Virdi It's a drift car. Looks are second to performance, although we know the kind of work Ging does so looks would clean the car up so nice
Kudos for never doing clickbait titles and not catching your miata on fire!
your making me really miss seeing these guys race around the track back in the day. I wanna get back out there so bad 😘
Bring the Rally Miata to a track day LOL
•Finn• yes! that needs to happen!
how much HP does it have?
freaking cool man! I hope you can make more track videos.
The exhaust note is beautiful
I get my learners permit in a couple weeks, super excited! Can't wait to finally be able to drive.
your downshifts are on point! like someone pointed out this seems like it comes more natural to you compared to drifting (forza 6 is finally paying off 😂😂) keep going at both of them and find your cup of tea. Awesome videos, keep at it 👍

Gingium: 'First Track Day with the Turbo Miata!'
Other Clickbaity youtuber: 'Beating Ferraris on track in my turbo Miata!!!!! *(ALMOST DIED)*
Paulius Ragauskas So true that's why I like watching Ging he's a very down to earth guy unlike those other youtubers
Yes, I agree with you mate. He is one the best car youtubers, I love his DIY videos, tutorial tips and other stuff. Hopefully the popularity wont ruin him..
+Paulius Ragauskas Lol, I try to be as honest as possible with my titles!
+Gingium That's why we love you :D (obviously not only for that)
I thought he said titties
Molly actually sounds pretty good
i saw your tweet saying this video is doing poopy, keep your head up man this was sick and you are a natural on track, give it some time and it should do better
Glad to see Molly puttin in some work!
Friendly advice on the helmet. They have 2 shell shapes, oval and round. They apply pressure in different places. So try a different shape
5:16 ferrari driver:dafuq
gingium: built not bought boi
Didn't you drill into the oil pan to feed oil to the turbo? Maybe check there to see if you're losing anything. If you haven't already lol.
Looks like some good fun man! Keep on going for it.
Great driving.. Might want to invest in a bigger brake kit since you'll be tracking Molly now. Also, a heat shield for the brake master cylinder would be wise. ChrisFix has a tutorial on how to make one.. Should make one for the RX7 as well cuz drift car
I live for going to the track. Time for new brakes, eh? I just did a Cadillac CTSV swap on my 240sx. Makes a massive difference.
Gingium I kinda wanna see you ride Dan's bike more xD
You got a turbo miata and an offroad miata.. is it time for a spec miata maybe? ;) you did a good job for being first time out on track, keep it smooth and keep practicing
So fun to watch. MORE VIDEOS WITH MOLLY PLEASE
Everyone is talking about turbocharging the rx7 but in my opinion it would be cool if you supercharged it, so you would have a steady power band when drifting. Also because you don't want a bunch of turbo lag as a beginner.
This is so awseome to see. Good for you gingium
hey man which track is this? asking cause I live in the Chicagoland area.
omg gingium youre thee goat when it comes to new driving experiences
Ebc yellow stuff brake pads , they will make a difference. They are in the midrange price area of brake pads but they don't fade, never cheep out on brakes
love your videos bro ! you inspire me to keep doing youtube !
put a (new)turbo in the rx-7
+kevie boontje Bridgeport first
kevie boontje it's gonna blow his engine (if it's stock)
Gundeep Virdi or a turbo and supercharger!
Ruben Braekman no
too hard of a setup on rotaries, just go with turbo
Get Hawk HP+. Never had to take a cool down lap during my lapping days. Mine is non turbo though.
This wad very fun to watch keep it my friend
I've been to that track my friend races a 2004 Mazdaspeed miata
5:14 you definitely told your friends you passed a Ferrari in your miata
1:Try putting some aero on Molly i know it doesn't have that much power but it will probably help you with cornering 😉2: Try to build the engine on Molly cause you are going to get used to the power realy Quick
+Kenan King 1 Yes thats true! Brakes first
Gingium Yeah you are right Brakes first Sorry forgot that one 😅
When are you going to repaint the rx-7?
Armo03 whenever he gets enough 💰
Richard Okeeffe utube money
I'm really curious to know the setup on that specced Miata that passed Gingium.
12:00 awww good mazda :)
High temp fluid and some pads I am guessing?
angle the go pro alittle up so we can see above dash?
+Jonathan Yep!
Bro! I actually do participate in trackdays too!
I have another advice for you! :)
Try NOT to rev match unless you are heel toeing! Use the ''brake of the engine'' in order to slow down. Rev matching in the beginning of your track journey costs time.
Using engine braking, you keep the brakes cooler and you help the car rotate a bit more.

Heel toe material! You know!
Once more, well done though! Great ''πρωτη επαφη'' as we say in greek! (''First contact'' in exact translation - ''Initiation'' meaning)
Hi bro, nice videos keep it up. I think your oil leek is from your oil pan. You might want to change it. I faced the same problem with my car.
Get some good pads (Hawks or the porterfields that flying miata sells)... use OEM rotors ... put fresh race braking fluid like Motul...
Really good instructor!
Big brake kit?
Did you ever think to drain the oil and check your pan? maybe even the seal on the pan needs to be replaced
Wow your turbo mx5 works great unlike some other more famous red mx5
you should do a pedal cam like they do in hot version international
You are a good pilot!!Succes!
What about the splitter
Faster times?
More aero
