Who stole Tom's Turbo Garage LS3 Miata ?!? Seriously, lightweight high torque RWD, roll cage... you can't go wrong. This goes beyond just track time, it's about driving folks
This brings back memories of my old 1990 Monster Miata., with a 1990 Ford Mustang 302 engine and transmission. It only had around 230 hp, but still hauled ass. I did track the car, but I seldom got through a 20 minute session without the engine overheating. The only other vehicle I've owned that I miss more than my V8 powered Miata was my old 1970 VW single cab pickup, which was powered by a breathed over 2.7 litre Porsche flat six and Porsche 5 speed gearbox.
What a GREAT car, I'm a big fan of small car/V8, (I have a '64 MGB, 500hp sbc@2350lbs.,custom frame&suspension street car), to see one (especially a Miata) taken to track car limits is a wonderful thing. Thanks
I've had sooo many fun track days there with my E46 M3 even had my VF blown E39 540 there. You guys are missing out if you haven't done a track day. It gets addicting though. That track though is where I learned to give Nascar drivers mad respect. That oval at 130mph is crazy couldn't imagine doing 200mph!
Agree. The guts and focus of NASCAR driving doesn't come across on TV at all. I've been working with Parker Kligerman a lot in the past year, and have a new respect for that sport. ZK

Excuse the dick swinging for a moment....I fairly recently traded my BRZ and picked up a 19 Camaro SS 1LE. When I was on vacation I rented an ND Miata...even with the automatic, which is pretty awful...I don't think I've had that much ever driving a car. Had a Fiesta ST before the BRZ so I'm akin to moderate power, lightweight drivers cars, but the ND Miata is really something special. I love the Camaro, it's a fantastic car and makes a bad ass daily, but the limits are so high, it's so fast...and despite masking it incredibly well, it's still a heavy car. It's not a boring car by any means....but it really needs to be on a race track to really enjoy it. You really have to be going absurdly fast sometimes for it to feel alive. And that's the issue with so many modern cars, they're almost too capable. I'd be lying if I didn't think I should have gotten a Miata.... Camaro is better suited to where I live, but man I don't think you could have a more fun toy, particularly as a street car, than a Miata on some good roads. It feels like you're doing 120 when you're going 60 and it just begs to be trashed harder and harder. The cornering speed of an ND on some whatever skinny tires is insane. The 19 NDs have the right amount of power too where it feels quick and isn't a total dog but you can still wring its neck without too much worry of going to jail. All that to say....if you love driving and can fit in one...Miatas are it. It's so small and lightweight, literally like a street legal go kart that somehow doesn't beat you up either. The ND is a really pleasant car to drive as a daily even. It makes normal commuting fun, even just cruising on the highway with the top down. I can only imagine how fun this car is...All the good things about supercars but still retains what makes a Miata so fun. The more you know....cool story bro

I had a modified Miata. The chassis cannot handle the power. As the owner stated, There is a lot roll cage tubular type chassis reenforcement in that car.
