For those who are curious, about the "electrocute" thing. Robin is right it does come from electric execution and usually means dying by electric shock. It can nowadays mean to get a heavy electric shock, but its more clear if it says shocked, tased, or zapped. At least for me.
and electrify is when something has an electrical current running through it, eg a power cable thats plugged in and turned on would be electrified (yes i know thats a bad example)
Electrocute
injure or kill someone by electric shock.
No, no, no. It's because when you're electrocuted you curl up into the fetal position and look really cute.

As a tumblr user, honestly i believe those tumblr posts are genuine bc of how tumblr works and also sometimes you just. dont notice the username sometimes (tumblr doesnt have a specific "algorithm", its chronological and often posts just get passed around over and over by users to the point where sometimes you just forget who posted what)
yeah, ive done similar things before…
Yeah one of my mutuals will reblog smth and I'll go "huh I said something really similar a year ago" and then realize it was my old post they reblogged. Like I've almost accused people of stealing my art from 2019 cause the op's name just isn't very visible.
yeah, also the fact that your own posts show up on your dash

Same way all the others thought their lies were believable tbh.
One of my favorite parts of Robin’s vids is how casually he tries to pass on wisdom to younger viewers. Like, YES!! This is how age is supposed to work; pass info along to help the next people save time so they can help the next generation and so on
I will never understand how people can take SUCH good photos and say "look at these accidental pics" why would you not want to take credit for it 😂
You forget that there are all kinds of people. There are the insecure ones who pass it off as a nbd but here you go. Then there are the actual narcissists who think they're so much better than everyone else, that their mistakes are better than anything anyone else has ever come up with.
@@johnmcshane4463 when I said "accidental pics" I meant the people who make up obviously fake stories like "my dog took this picture" or "my 1 month old child took this picture" not insecure people.

The funniest "didn't mean to" happened to me at around 16 y/o. Me and first bf were together 2 months, breakup and don't talk for a year or longer. We talk again and he wants to get back together, I say yes after thinking for a day or so. We have an hour or so voice call, then he has to go and hangs up. I get a message on messenger a few minutes later from him saying it was all his cousin who had wrote everything and tricked me. When asked about the voice call he said his cousin was really good at mimicing voices lol
It's great to watch Robin narrate over people "slipping up" after waking up from a nap :)
"Electrocute" means to injure or kill via electricity. If it hurt at all, it is valid to describe as electrocution (it doesn't have to be a serious injury).
That was actually a solid 8.5/10 Alex Jones impression, just needed to be louder, more bombastic and energetic, and a bit more "gravel" in the voice like he is a crazy homeless man on meth that saw a cat come out of something and swear it was some sort of alien entity that was out to steal his socks while he was wearing them.
24:30 here in the US most legislation brought to vote by the GOP is not written by any senators or staff; they literally take pre-written legislation packages from corporate donors (and their reps), often via lobbyists, and submit them on the House Floor... they've literally forgotten to change author's names and remove corporate cover pages proving that they're doing this.
And it's not just kickbacks and earmarks and tax exemptions but like, the infamous '94 crime bill was (allegedly) written by a group of lawyers now associated with/known as the ultra-right Federalist Society, at the behest of a group of Prison Industry corpos...

7:35 on this note I’ll say. If I make a joke about “I accidentally sent this to a bunch of girls” I either thought the joke was creepy, not their humor, or the joke is a joke degrading girls that I was sending to my dude friends as a joke.
How in the world could that be degrading? I swear some people just get offended for no reason nowadays.
"Woke up like this" ahh cat ❤❤❤
3:31 *Coughs
There's most likely some numbers for that
People pretending to do this stuff by accident, isn’t because they want it to be “cooler”. It’s because people are scared to share something they are proud of without getting criticized because no one will care about it. So they are like, “so yeah, I did this, didn’t try too hard on it though. It was an accident”.
The fear of being seen as as vain or self obsessed created a whole new form of posting.
Cringe culture needs to die out.
@@krbthewitchI do that all the time tbh. If I show something to someone there's a lot of "It's kinda dumb" and "It's not totally done" because if they do like it, great. And if they don't, I don't need to feel ashamed
It always ends up working against them too
I'm thinking half the world has a wrong idea about what "accidentally" means.
3:23 That was a pretty good impression ngl

13:01 - I love the fact they said it was an accident in the same message that the typed out that paragraph on
13:00 is the epitome of trying to say that women aren’t responsible for their actions and that a man has to be at fault somehow. Someone never got told that she has to be a big girl and own up to her mistakes.
"It's not my fault the planets were aligned that way, which in turn made me crash my car!"
from how i have herd it used, electrocute is sort of used like shock, like "risk of execution" being on some warnings
3:47 absolutely valid if theyre a digital artist
I'm almost certain that every digital artist has done that at some point
Unless they just switched to digital, in that case they will do it at some point.
The paradoxical thing about the pins is. If they are dumb enough to think people would believe it was an accident, they're probably dumb enough to have not realised they were there.
On tumblr, if you reblog or post something, and then reload the page or reopen the app, your post(s) will always be at the top. I've accidentally rebloged my own posts on several occasions.
3:15 Isn't he the "gay frogs" guy?
Yeah
The whole “friend taking your phone and messaging people with it” is the reason I’m so territorial about my phone. I’ve never understood why people do that/ would want to do that.
the first thing that got me was "barnie senders" god i love Robin. 10/10 narration
It probably comes from the term electrocution as in to die of electric shock but current day terminology I wouldnt say it always means to die of being shocked but can also just mean to be shocked fairly badly.
I told a guy in a friend group chat that I wasn't keen on some of the things he was posting in chat, asked if he could just keep those ones with an audience who appreciates it, and a couple other girls agreed. That immediately led to 3 days of being spammed with boob memes and car porn (literally). I love a good meme, even a tacky one if it's well done, but I'll never tell a guy friend again that I don't like something lol
That shouldn't be a friend anymore. If that's their response to you asking them to stop then they aren't respecting you. Of course I don't know the whole situation but really, that doesn't sound good.
Sounds like a POS.
@@Olivethefey I totally get what you're saying. He's not quite as toxic as it sounds, but he's definitely that immature and disrespectful. He's still a part of my friend group, but we all decided to make him leave the group chat, and he's become more that friend you just kind of tolerate, but stop inviting to stuff in the hope the friendship will just fizzle out.
@@obnoxiousbluebird6634 Alright, good to hear he's been pushed out of the group chat! But be careful about the "it's not as bad as I made it seem mentality", cause a lot of the time it is, and people just ignore it because they don't want to admit it. I hope he doesn't bother you anymore and that you have a good day :3
@@Olivethefey you make a very good point there. I always do that, play down the way people act, so your insight definitely caused an enlightening moment for me. I have done it since I was a kid, always making excuses, even for people who treated me like crap, but I never really, at least consciously, even considered it with a friend. You're very right and I'm going to start paying attention to any friends who I find myself doing that with from now on.
Pulling out has a very high failure rate even if they do it "properly". Make them wear a condom and don't take no for an answer if you're not trying for a baby.
26:18 No you right about "electrocute" being a portmanteau of electro and execute. "Shock" is the word that should be used most times people say electrocute.
Is it just me, or are most of these 'oopsies' just low-key flexes in disguise?
[Yes, I know that's the joke...being obtuse in my spare time]

Okay but I ACTUALLY accidentally messaged a girl in high school. Me and my friend were wanting to see a movie so I messaged him on fb asking if he still wanted to see it. My smooth brained SOMEHOW clicked the name right under his on the messenger list without realizing it and sent it to her instead. Then as soon as I realized what happened, without thinking I said “Sorry I clicked the wrong name!”
As soon as I sent that I realized how dumb and unbelievable that sounded but it was too late, the damage was done. I was mortified
You are absolutely right about electrocute. Its a portmanteau of electricity and exocute.
If you dont die from it, then you've been shocked, not electrocuted.
'electrocute' means to injure or kill from electric shock. So yes, technically you wouldn't get electrocuted by a taser.
The thing is you can be though, they aren't safe, just less lethal
I mean you could, just gotta press the button for longer
@@pies765 Unless you have a medical problem, the shock isn't the think that's gonna hurt you. It's the mobility problem from the shock that will hurt you.
@@June_The_Goon They have safety things on them.
Robin, you're right about electrocution being only if the thing dies. Electric shock is the term for when you just get shocked by electricity and don't die.
3:24
"Not really a great impression" Robin lied
Google says:
While "electrocute" does come from the words electro-execute, it nowadays gained the meaning of "to kill OR severely injure by electric shock", it does not automatically imply death anymore. So yes, a taser does electrocute you, just not fatally usually.
Robin really confused me because in brazil we also use the term "eletrocutar", electrocute, for just receiving an electric shock, be it deadly or not. We usually specify WHEN someone dies by it, since usually it just means getting injured.
So yeah, even tho it would be clearer to just use it for electric execution, and use "electric shock/shocked" for non-fatal injuries, it would still be correct to refer to it by "electrocute", fatal or not
ok gonna be real, i had a fly fly around my room the entire day already, and at exactly 1:26 in the video i was able to shock that sucker with my electric fly swatter. i feel way calmer now :)
So many of these 'didn't mean to' pics are actually cute. It sucks that people are afraid of being seen as self obsessed to own how good they are.
People should own when they feel good about themselves.

Dude, that was an awesome Alex Jones impression, in that, I cringed. Well done.
8:31 That was hella awkward lol I have a friend who owes me like £1,000 as I helped him buy a car after his last one was wrecked in an accident (not his fault) and he's paying me in instalments. If you can't make a payment on a debt to a friend one month due to bills or just general life getting in the way, I feel like you need to pick another commitment than Crash Bandicoot if you're going to explain to them why you can't make the payment that month lol I'm not going to leave a friend unable to pay for food on a given month if they need to pay me and starving is the trade-off they're left with, but I'm sure as shit going to leave them without Crash Bandicoot in favour of me haha
I never thought I'd click an emkay video and see Robin say "Hey you! Yes you! Reddit time."
actually, making the bs story does get them more attention as we make fun or complain about them when we watch this video
Right, but unlike businesses where even bad publicity is good publicity, you don't want that as a person really. Unless you enjoy people thinking you're a tool and laughing at you. Not many people like that.

"Being drunk is not an excuse for anything" tell that to my drunk girlfriend passing out during Matt Stone and Trey Parker's Magnum Opus Cannibal the Musical and being super cute about it

12:12 I used to pretty much practically give my phone to my friends every once in a while
- a)
"heh, my password's long, so sure" so they may either try to figure it out or it became a weird motivation for me to chase them (idk, I usually didn't want to play games like that during Secondary)
plus I know they'll give it back
(may have worried teachers because they thought I was being bullied, and I just kind went "huh? what? it's fine, we're just playing......b..but I gave them the phone??")
- b) they might be like "let's say this, but who" and I'd just be there like "sure, why not"
- c) I didn't use abbreviations, like, at all (maybe besides idk) at the time, so it was incredibly obvious when it's not me
- if it became a little too weird/insulting/idk, I'd usually defend myself
