    I just purchased a steamer and with many years of detailing experience I know steam cleaning is a very good way to get it clean and fast. This is great! 👍🏻

    Finally, someone has pointed this out. Been cleaning windows similar to this for years. If you have a Karcher, it’s far easier to use the hard floor tool with the white microfibre on, especially for the inside of the windscreen.

    I use the steam cleaner for my windows but with a slightly different method.
    They come up so clear and it’s quick and effortless

    Steam is good cos it stops misting up. I used to do my bathroom mirror with steam.

    I use a steam cleaner with the squeegee attachment after I’ve scrubbed the glass with 4 zeroes grade Liberon steel wool from B&Q, then a spray with something like Stoner’s Invisible Glass. Almost don’t need the wipers when it rains. Great video though.

    Thank you for the video Dave. Never thought of using a steam cleaner for glass cleaning before. Will definitely be very effective in cutting through any grease/smear marks. You're not going to throw away your flunky though are you?

      Hi Karl, never going to stop using the flunky method. That's number one. I just thought I'd try sharing something that isn't on TH-cam. (Very difficult finding topics that haven't been done) this way is good but I understand not everyone has a steamer

    That's a brilliant idea Dave! I have a steam cleaner in my garage somewhere, doesn't have a find nozzle attachment like yours but I reckon the wallpaper remover rectangular attachment would do a good job. Would you say it gets the glass clean enough to put a rain repellent coating on? I've recently bought some Ceriglass and small glass polishing pads to do mine, have I wasted my money I'm now wondering? 🤔 The inside front windscreen is always a pig to do no matter what method is used, I wish someone would come up with a miracle method for that, it's just so damned awkward to do

      Rain repellent would work better with a decon wash first. I just use a clay block or bar over glass and it does the job 👌

    Great video. Any hoover you recommend for the interior of cars? (ideally cordless as I know customers that can't provide electricity). I don't know how to deal with this issue.

      Karcher commercial machines can be battery powered. They not too powerful though

      Do you mean where the glass moves up and down on some cars when you open and close the doors?

      @@epicautomotivedetailing - no, just where the glass sits within the seals in a regular door. When you drop the window, there’s always 5-10mm of grease / dirt on the top edge? Would you just steam clean as you did, but with the window dropped?

    Are there any precautions when using it on interior glass that’s been tinted? I’m so sick of cleaning glass and have recently moved to the steamer for just about everything, and would love to do be able to use this technique inside cars as well as outside!

    Great technique Dave i dont think i have seen a upload getting the glass clean as gleaming as this. looks like the glass came straight out of the factory. what are your go to microfiber cloths and microfiber drying towels. cheers Dave 😊

      Be careful not everyone does tints properly. Best method is in my other glass cleaning video. But this one is definitely good alternative

      Personally I would avoid because it would take a fair bit of steam to damage and it's a merely a few seconds of time. Play it safe and use a flunky followed by towel 👌

    But I'm sure you gave an equally good, easier glass cleaning tip a while back...a slightly damp chamois leather which is the only I use now, no dragging around a machine, no microfiber cloth and it works 100% smear free inside and out, if it ain't broke, don't fix it 👍

      I use distilled water in my steam cleaner (no scale filter) as it's very hard water here in Norfolk. Ruins kettles, washing machines etc.

      Yes it helps massively. Sc3 has a cartridge which I haven't looked into much yet but will see how it works

    How do you test for tint/UV film on the windows before steaming?
    I know the steam can damage these films

      I think I'll do some tests myself and film them to see how far you can go with using steam. Some have been fine. I'm happy to get some old cars with aftermarket tints and see

      @@epicautomotivedetailing also factor in the different temperatures of steam. It would be helpful to at least test up to 170 degrees Celsius as many machines output this. (8-9 bar steam machines)

    Synthetic perforated chamois (Kent), warm water and an Unger Ergotec Ninja Microwipe cloth to finish. Try an Unger Ninja cloth Dave, you won't use anything else, trust me.

      @@epicautomotivedetailing The guys at the Pilkington Glass factory put me on to them. They install some pretty specialised and expensive glass panels and won't use anything else. I also use Unger rub out for hard water stain removal. Gets even the most stubborn marks and water spots out of glass (using the corner pieces in the Ninja cloth)

    Great unless you live in an area with very hard water.
    I burnt thru a steam cleaner every 9-12 months.
    Ive given up on steam cleaners

    Jeez mate its a bit OTT you always say you wasted time carrying a steamer. Using a glass cleaner and a glass cloth I could do it quicker without having all the drama getting a steamer out.
    Each to there own but that's not for me at all
