Hi guys, can we see a close-up with light on these glass surfaces. The title of the video is named how to clear up streaky dirty glass . At the end it was just demonstrated how "hydrophobic" the glass got. Aren't there any scratches left behind by the polisher, pads and products?
I regularly use clay, compound, and sealants on glass. All products involved are safe for paint and clears. Since glass is many many times harder, this would not scratch glass(exceptions is if you prep poorly and used a polisher that picked up a rock or something lol).
🤔 where would the scratches come from ? And if there was already scratches on the window then this video can’t help with that. It’s about cleaning and streak free.
Streaks and film have to do with product and dirt/residue on the surface. If its beading and sheeting off cleanly, you can rest assured the surface is clean (not with streaks and film).
How do I clean a pile of towels when they all have different products on em and u want nothing on it for the next after the wash. What dial and fabric softener. Or just degreaser etc
I find good results with a strong detergent, warm water, and a couple of capfuls of SuperClean degreaser - that stuff breaks through anything. Adding some Borax can be helpful too. Never use fabric softener - it's filled with oil and leaves residue. It doesn't actually soften fabrics but rather makes them feel softer. Don't use any gentle or delicate detergents or washer settings - you want aggressive. Wash microfiber only with other microfiber, and not other clothes - and I try to wash the towels right away after use when possible because a lot of detailing products harden or cure over time and become harder to remove.
Terrible idea to use a paint polisher for decontaminate the glass. It will leave micro swirls all over the place. You will see them when the sun hits the windshield or when driving at night. There are dedicated glass polishers. just need to use the right amount of pressure and also pad.
Good to know. I am having a nightmare with my rear hatchback window. It has a stain that looks like a run. A new one appears about every two days. And the car has gone nowhere in a week and it hasn't rained. I tried to remove the stains with vinegar, soap, Invisible glass cleaner, and even a very mild glass polish using my orbital polisher with no luck. The car is failry new.
Joey, I like the HydroView a lot, and I use VSS scratch and swirl as well. Can't tell in the video, but you're buffing out some old fine scratches that naturally happen after years of driving, from the glass as well, correct?
Windshield glass nowadays is softer than 30-40 yrs ago so in the bright sunlight micro chips show up much more now. I wonder if going through these steps help to address the issue.
I used your heavy duty waterspot remover on my 2022 Chevy truck windshield and it left streaks that cannot be removed. It can not be washed off or buffed out! This product should be recalled. How do I fix this?!
Hi, i used some water spot remover. I kind of used the towel to reapply it, and it made the glass a little fogy. Do you have anything that can restore it? Thanks
It's crazy how much all these products cost honestly... I mean heck, I can get safelite to come put in a brand new windshield for 300 bucks, or spend 200+ on products and still have to do the work.... I dunno, just seems excessive to have to spend that much on glass when it's probably cheaper to have the glass changed lol... Just my HO
your buff towel after the clay bar, I know you were talking to us so probably didn't even know, but you wiped off the clay lube, turned it over to buff dry, flipped the towel back to the clay lube side and wiped again. You then were about to refold the towel to a drier side, but didn't and wiped more clay lube on 😂
Does this repair thousands of micro scratches and chips? My windshield looks like, well like I sprayed a fine mist on it when looking out from inside in sunlight. It's actually hard to see out of in direct sunlight, so I need a way to polish out all those little specks
Clay bar is a great idea. Just wish my windshield on my truck was that easy to clean. Even at 6'2" I cannot reach the center unless I stand in the door and reach.
@@ChemicalGuysI have a step ladder and even though I am 5ft 11inches tall with a 34 inch sleeve I cannot reach portion of my hood, roof, and windshield of my 2024 Chevy Trail Boss.
Great effort, watching you do the job and explain the process and showing the products we can buy from your shop. If may ask for another video where the camera shows the true progression? So we can decide ! Thank you
Glasweld has a fantastic glass treatment for residue as well as hard water spots, it's called pro clean, I offer it to my clients with their walk in showers as theres a ton of hard water in my area..
I did followed this process recently. Works great for rain except I must have used an inferior microfiber to apply or buff the HydroSlick and now have lint stuck in coating on windshield. How do you recommend I remove the HydroSlick (without stripping wax from other exterior surfaces) to try again for a better application?
Hi guys. Not long ago I put your Hydro Slick Wax on my car. I'm happy with final effect, but on my bonnet looks like loosing repellent effect. I don't know I used stronger foam or what? Btw question-can I re-apply this wax again? Or really should wash away with for example fallout and then start again new layer? Tom
Glad i found this! I have a 56 chevy with old glass likely replaced in late 80s. I properly washed inside n outside, and og clay barred outside of glass Would this clear or at least help clear up for the most part any light and moderate pitting and sun hazing? And light scratches/streak from old windshield wiper blades? Thank you guys for always being helpful! Any suggestions are appreciated. ✌️
The best way to demonstrate glass polishing would be on an old windshield removed from a salvage car. You could light it well from the inside and outside to really show the effectiveness of the process. It's almost impossible to tell how well this is working. Surprised that no windshield polishing videos have figured that out.
This was super helpful. Looks like I need a few more CG products to add to the kit. Are these products good for plastic headlights too? I want to protect brand new plastic lights front and back. Thanks
You guys picked a cool car.. but probably the easiest windshield you could do.. I like the video.. I honestly hate glass cleaners.. between using adhesive remover, and glass cleaners.. thanks for the tutorial.
is there any UV protection with the hydro products? I have been using Jet Seal on headlights for the UV protection but id like the ceramic action also. What are my options? Thanks
Hi there! Yes, adding the Hydro Line will resist harsh elements and UV rays using ceramic protection. HydroSlick is an excellent all around choice for repelling these elements and enhancing gloss.
OK, so I watched one of your videos and put a coating to protect the windshield. Problem is it leaves streaks. How do I totally strip a windshield and start over?
Wdym? First of all, not true. Second, not everyone has a garage or a private property to hide the car inside. You go outside with your car only when it's sunny, and there are no birds around? Cuz that sounds really rare.
This man really just said a cool 70 degrees 😂😂😂 I don’t wanna know your hots then! For us 50 degrees is nice. 70 degrees you’re sweating your butt off 😂
Hey! Use Streak Free Glass Cleaner to remove haze and grime from the interior side of the glass. www.chemicalguys.com/streak-free-window-clean/streak-free-window-clean.html
Tint is always applied to the interior of the glass and polishing it exteriorly would not create any more heat than your vehicle sitting outside in the sun.
Exterior window cleaning is not that difficult. I have rarely seen any video or products from Chemical Guys for cleaning the windows from inside on tinted glass. Cleaning windows from inside is as important as cleaning it from outside. Hope you recommend a product and cleaning procedure.
Been using your products for a while very happy with results ,when everything is dona properly and cheramic coating applied ,I dont even need to use my vipers when driving on highway ,all water just runs off , btw you have a clay cloath available? Thank you

👍💯🔥 exactly

Smooth un scratched surfaces won't have water stick to it like the coated glass, instead it will bead up. A hydro test is a good indicator of that

Enjoy your detailing products!
I remember the first time I had a beer😂 jk nice vid. What about cleaning the vape juice off the inside? Any ideas?
Please compare the glass at night from inside
We will make sure to make a video on that!

How do you wash microfiber towels after you use a ceramic coating like Hydro Charge+, Hydro Slick, or Hydro Speed?
They also make a micro fiber wash product that works well
My Method of Doing Laundry
Fabric Clothes- Steam Clean, Extract, Blow Dry (15 mins), Protect
Leather Clothes- Spray Leather Cleaner, Steam Cleaner or a Leather Brush, Wipe It Off, Leather Conditioner, Microfiber Applicator Pads
Towels- Steam Clean, Extract, Blow Dry (15 mins)

Working with larger vehicles can be tricky however using a stepladder may be useful.

Wait is coated supposed to be better?
Quick question: Does ceramic coating will cause the wiper blade to be shaky/vibrate when being used in light raining condition?
Its will happen
Less talking would have been better.

Any ideas on how to safely remove a streak in the glass from a bad wiper?
came here hoping for this answer
Same 😢 any answers
1 wash glass with dish soap
2 go over it with vinegar
3 use good quality wax
Job done save money and time

You guys up for a challenge to try and repair a sand damage windshield?
I did followed this process recently. Works great for rain except I must have used an inferior microfiber to apply or buff the HydroSlick and now have lint stuck in coating on windshield. How do you recommend I remove the HydroSlick (without stripping wax from other exterior surfaces) to try again for a better application?
Do these products fill in any small pitting of the glass surface caused by local sand and dust storms here in Arizona?
I would love to know the answer to that as well

What do you suggest for clarifying the inside rear glass. It has the defroster material on it.
White scrub pad, bottle of water mixed with a little soap and glass cleaner.
Use microfiber towel and squeegee to dry.
Can u guys try on a glass that has watermarks. And do a close up. In this video that glass looks clean even before polishing

Excellent video! Do you have a window video without the electric polisher?
I'll be the same process but with extra elbow grease.
hi guys can i to get all 4 products for windshield and can you give me some detail and thank you
Do you decontaminate the wiper blades?
Cleaning the wiper blades ? ..the logical answer is yes
My wife stated her windshield never looked cleaner. Easy too.
ngl the non-coated takes the cake
Would it be safe to use C4 or P4 instead on glass with that green pad?
can I do this once a month, or would that be too harsh in the long run on the window?
This was super helpful. Looks like I need a few more CG products to add to the kit. Are these products good for plastic headlights too? I want to protect brand new plastic lights front and back. Thanks
Absolutely!!
I just got a brand new windshield. Which steps can I skip?
New to this channel, love your knowledge and subscribed.
At the end non coated is better
What else can you use hydroslick for? Thankyou for sharing the valuable information 🙏
Hey! Use HydroSlick to protect any surface that is gloss painted, shiny or clear.
What about the inside of the windshield? I can NEVER get that clean. There is always residue plus the angles of cars you can't get a buffer in there.
Hey! We will make sure to make a video on this issue yo are having to show you how we do it!
I vape inside my car any way to restore the inside of my glass so it’s not foggy inside?
I am curious, is your product water or alcohol based?
Can’t even talk smh

I may have etched my windshield with your water spot remover gel. Will the polish fix that?
Hey! Yes, machine polishing is the best option for removing stains and blemishes.
can you use it on the inside windsheild
Hello, I plan on having my glass detailed. How long will the surface remain clean?
