  • During this install of the Samsung Galaxy S9+ Whitestone Dome Glass I had my first screen protector fail. This video will show you how you can recover and fix a failed attempt to install the Whitestone Dome Glass. In this video I am using the Galaxy S9+ but the method can be applied to all Dome Glass installs.

    My experience with Whitestone Dome glass has been terrible. The installation process makes for a great experience but that's the only wow other than the price.
    After 11 days a spider web styled air bubble started to grow under the screen protector. Some got the webbing after 4 days, some got it up to 33 days after. IDK if this was a result of the glue drying or what but hundreds of people seem to be having this problem as well. The reviews on Amazon/ Reddit will speak to this.
    These reviews on TH-cam are great when installing but do not speak about the long term effects.

    First time installing a screen protector that came with liquid glue, got it on first try and I'm proud about it. It wasn't perfect though, it was messy and I had to clean the phone on the sides and on the back and I wanted the clean the glue from under the screen protector and between the aluminium frame and I got some of the glue off the under side of the screen protector, but I don't really look there. I like how the screen looks with the Optishield lux screen protector for the s9+ and will continue to buy only this type of tempered glass.

    Great video. I do my own by getting cheap tempered glass and removing adhesive sticker from back, then apply loca glue on screen and cure with UV light. It's same as dome but a whole lot cheaper. Just did one in my pixel 3 xl and it's perfect.

    Great video and recovery from the oops. Installed mine and loved how it was going until an air bubble or dust speck became visible after the curing process. Not just one bubble... one big one and 6-7 tiny ones in the same area. I think there were some crusties in the bottle of glue. Any idea how to get the cured adhesive off? Think I might have just ruined an $800 phone. Curved screen edges = stupidest feature ever! Help Brett?!?

    Help me figure out how this is diff than the usual tempered glass protectors?

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is full liquid adhesive for the entire screen so there is not gap between the display and the projector. Other screen protectors are usually just a sticker and don't stick to every part of the screen, they also might only have adhesive on the edge leaving a gap between the screen and adhesive making the touch less responsive and harder to use the screen.

      So you need to go I to the settings of the Google Home app on your phone and go to the Home Hub settings and go to default speaker settings and tap Bluetooth. Then put your sound bar in pairing mode and it should show up on your phone. Tab that to pair them together.
