As a person that installs screen protectors for a living this video makes me so anxious lol. The sticker is the very last thing you do and you have EVERYTHING ELSE ready to go so that as soon as you put the sticker down its go time, your not unwrapping things and putting things together and plugging them in. There is so much dust in the air its ridiculous. NEVER pull of the plastic from the screen protector in the upright position because dust could fall on it before you have the time to flip it upside down, you pull the plastic off while its upside down and then place it. And last of all NEVER work over your device once you removed the dust cause your arms and cloths can drop dust on it. Just some basic tips from a pro to take in mind.

I just paid a professional to do it in Australia, it cost me $89.99 but worth every cent on my Note 9. I didn’t want to stuff it that’s for sure, plus it came with two weeks warranty in case something happened. Really happy but surprised it was so expensive. I guess at the end of the day a lot cheaper than having to get a Note 9 screen repaired or replaced. Here in Oz it cost $499 plus to get a new screen.

What I did with mine to check level before starting the process was to:
    1. Clean the screen thoroughly.
    2. Have a paper towel ready.
    3. Put about 4-5 drops of water in the same area the adhesive will go.
    4. Watch the water to see if it runs in any direction.
    5. If it does, adjust the tray with playing cards underneath one at a time, or find a new install location.
    6. Use the paper towel to soak up your test water.
    7. Clean your screen again using the normal process.
These steps make for a flawless install. BTW, use a flashlight during the final dust check. The light will pick up ANY and ALL dust particles. Thanks for this great video.

Just installed one earlier and here are very important tips and tricks that are not mentioned in the manual.
-Provided you make the correct preparations, it is easier to install perfectly that regular tempered glass and screen protectors.
-Make sure you install it in a dust free and perfectly leveled surface.
-Make sure you have good ventilation.
-Use a good masking tape on all four sides of your phone. Glue will overflow to the top/sides no matter what and you don't want it in your buttons or ports.
    -Watch tons of tutorial videos.
    -Don't tense up during installation.

    • @depthoflife7267

you don't need masking tape...at all

    • @Bangbangboom51
      @Bangbangboom51 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

I've installed a total 9pcs dome glasses since 2017 from an S8, s9 to note 9. At the start, I don't put tapes on the sides until after my 3rd installation, my brother's S9 and LOCA went inside the usb-c port. From then on, whenever he tries to charge his phone, about 70% of the time, a warning message will appear that there's moisture detected on his charging port and his phone will not charge, he's only been able to use his phone thanks to the free wireless charger he got with his s9.
P.S. He never got his phone wet or dunk in the water ever.
Anyways, this is just my tips base on my personal experiece. Anyone could choose not to follow it, I mean, you just risking to F-up a $1000 phone.

Hey..if we use the masking tape on sides at the time of installation and glue flows over and touches the masking tape..we go through the next step of curing the phone with UV light..after the curing process..is it easy to take off the masking tape??

    • @Bangbangboom51
      @Bangbangboom51 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Just continue with initial UV curing even if LOCA touches the tapes. The Loca won't be fully cured until after 24hr to 48hrs so the Masking tape can still be easily removed even after the initial curing.

Apparently my table isn't leveled but thank god I had folded paper around me to save the day. A few tweaks here and there. And my installation is perfect...for now. You know I read the comments and there's always people in the comments working really hard to discredit either a person, product, or whatever. I put on about 11 or 12 of these things on for people and it was the easy screen protector I've ever put on. The directions are simple also the odor is bad but even before ordering you're warned of the odor or of the adhesive and told to do this in a well ventilated area. I love and by far the best of all screen protectors on the market for the Galaxy Note 9.

I'm curious to know, If (more so when) in the event you drop the phone and the screen protector takes damage, is it somewhat easy to remove to replace? also because the screen protector is bonded to the original screen with the adhesive, does it have an increased probability of transferring more shock through to the original screen and cracking/damaging that as well? i kinda guess any great impact on the protector always carries the chance of damaging the screen anyway.

When you turn the phone horizontally to watch videos, there is a small but noticeable line at the top and bottom of the screen, right where the curved display starts. I've only watched a couple installation videos for the dome glass screen protector (note 9) and you're the only one who seems to have correctly done it without forgetting to do some steps like speaker grille sticker, absorption pads, etc
Recommend everyone read the installation/watch guides and understands the process completely so you don't pause unnecessarily during the installation. Finding a near level surface location might be challenging. I suggest bathroom/kitchen counters, particularly bathroom counters since you could turn on some hot water to steam up the room temporarily and reduce some dust in the air.

I have observed something rather strange on the TWO note 9's I've had. My initial note 9 I had applied the dome glass screen protector before I had even booted up the phone, it had a tiny air bubble which I could not deal with so I removed it and asked for a warranty replacement which whitestone gladly agreed to. I noticed a few days after removing, my note 9 had a light "leak" others are reporting but intermittently on both sides. So I got the phone RMA'd, upon receiving the new phone I vigorously checked the phone for any light leak and could find none, two weeks into using the new phone, no light leak. I received my replacement whitestone, install went great but had residual glue at the top which I tried to rub away with an alcohol wipe, long story short I made it worse and the top of the dome glass ended up cracking. NOW here is the interesting part, again a few days later I noticed my Note 9 starting to have a light leak on the right side of the phone which seemly got worse and worse day by day. I'm curious if the cured residual glue from the protector that got stuck in that gap between the glass and body cause some sort of reaction to damage the paint or whatever it is on the screen to cause the light leak? Both note 9's have been midnight black.

It shouldn't but loca like any other glue will soften it self do to the solvents in the uncured unset product. It could be that the loca adhesive supplied is softening the loca the panel is held in with and releasing it from the phones body then any differences in the curve of the whitesome protector is basically flexing the display just enough to lift it free. If this is the case then whitestone could have some serious problems coming up for them.

Very possibly the fumes or maybe even the whitestone glue itself during application might be having an effect on on the galaxy's own display adhesive .
If i was too take guess , I'd say it's more than likely the curing/gassing off having an effect .
Thanks for pointing that out , I think i will skip the whitestone .

With my UV Glass protector... Heads up for Otter box Defender users, when I tried to take it off it peeled my protector partially and left a bit of bubbles (I didnt completely pop open the otterbox)... kinda pissed me off but oh well just dont take the case off warning with the one I bought, 30 dollars and I got 2 protectors from RooPose... but they are high quality once you know that flaw...

I've always used 5 dollar tempered glass ones off Ebay since I can remember, never had issues. They just think that if we are paying 1000 dollars for a phone, we are gonna pay 50 for a darn screen protector. Then make you think it's literally a science experiment and it will never break, but yet they are worse than films.

I'm wondering if I wouldn't just buy a new Samsung glass when I need my first battery replacement anyway...
Unless you're saying this will actually protect against drops, which I doubt.
At any rate, have you looked at the prices for new glass on previous model Samsung phones? Pretty damned cheap - less than the labor to replace the battery when it goes.

I can confirm that S10 plus fingerprint sensor works also with the cheaper (10$) chinese UV cured (loca) tempered glass...like the one from NanoSonic and many other "copy" from asia. Yes they are not so good at oleophobic coatings and maybe not as strong as Whitestone but the fingerprint is working fine and it gives you some "tempered glass" protection.

    Bought Loca tp2500 (50 ml)
+ tempered glass + UV hand light + IP from Amazon india- all cost under $ 20.
The first attempt was a failure. Bubble formed on the sides, realised It was due to glue in tempered glass. Removed the glass and screen and cleaned with IP. Took care to clean off the glue in tempered glass.
    Succeeded on my second attempt
There is enough glue to try for 10 times . Just clean the glue with IP
    And reuse the glass.
Much better than a full glue tempered glass. If you are into DIY go ahead and try it.
