    The mistake was actually on the plastic insert piece. It's a very important step and it's known to go out of place or gets removed from the slot so you have to push it back in. I noticed in the video, the plastic insert went back out and when you put the screen on the glass, it immediately started spreading the loca glue, meaning that plastic insert was not properly secured before the screen went down. It's very easy to overlook this step and can cause a lot hassle. Overall, most of what you did was right, just that part screwed up the process.

      I tried glass glasses and got air bubbles each time after pulling the drop key. The bubble free installation is a scam

    The bubbles are VERY easy to get rid of BEFORE using the UV light. I simply pressed on it lightly with my finger... I know it says do NOT touch it before using the UV light but if I had not then I would not have been able to get rid of that annoying bubble.

      I don't really understand the reasons for "not touching it", I had to do this as well because a long small bubble formed spreading toward the bottom of the phone, pushed it out to the area where the adhesive was still spreading just below it and it spread fine. It's secured in place and I don't see why a tiny bit of pressure to move the bubble out so it spreads properly still would do any harm? have you had any issues since that might be the reason not to?

      @carbonunit 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had a bubble too. I slowly pushed it out the side before I used the UV

      carbonunit yep I've had no problrms since either.

      The do not touch warning is probably not specifically referring to bubbles. It's likeky referring to those who aren't patient enough to let the adhesive spread and try to manipulate it with their fingers. This is a great way to get adhesive where you don't want it and if you press TOO hard you can leave a void that will also turn into a bubble unless there's enough adhesive to fill it AND it's still liquidy enough to freely move.

      Tropically Fit (TropicallyFit.com) that's something you should not do. You risk ruining the strength of the glass by doing that.

    I had small bubbles on my first try, but the screen was cracked (loose glass) on the bottom, so it was a tough first try! But on my second and third tries, it's much easier. So I highly recommend just getting throught eh first try, because after that it's no problem.

    I have the Whitestone dome for my Galaxy S8 and I am going to do a install video when I finally attempt to install it as I had so many other screen protectors I wanted to try before I use the #1 screen protector.

    And if you do have any air bubbles just get the air bubbles out before you do the UV light. Super easy. Just use the little pull-tab and one of the dry wipes and slowly chase the bubbles out. 👍

    The whole reason this went bad was because you weren't using a level surface. As soon as you dropped the glass on, it went sideways and you tried to correct it, causing it to get worse :/

    the problem was not tilting the phone the right way when spreading the glue.At 1:44 you can see how the glue surrounds the air bubble that later cant get out.

      @RFMike  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, IMO I think Whitestone Dome Glass IS THE BEST screen protector money can buy and Now that they have revamped the replacement program it's even better.

  • @insertnamehere8723
    @insertnamehere8723 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You tilted it the wrong way when it was dispersing under the glass. You're actually supposed to tilt it down until it hits the center. Just let the glass and gravity do it's job. That's it.

    I got mine through Amazon Prime - might be better option for return/refund/try again.
    I did it right the second time...but - the edges ended up so thick with adhesive I can never get it clean as the adhesive collects debris.
    If it continues to bug me I'll try taking it off - cleaning it up and then to prevent such a thick layer toward the edges I'll apply a tiny bit of pressure to screen once applied and adhesive spreads fully - hopefully thinning the edges before curing.
    Any thoughts??
    *I know instructions forbid pushing down on it before curing but my first attempt got so messy I ended up having to wiggle it while in frame to work out a few bubbles.
    Gotta be an answer somewhere in the middle 😆

    could be a "problem". Issues are magazines and newspapers

  • @Zetsumei88
    @Zetsumei88 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    What I saw it seemed like when your hand was on the side you put pressure on the rig then looked like you bumped into it too. Only the lower corner needs to be pressed. Also I'm sure you could of taken it off and clean it then use the 2nd tube to try again.

    • @RFMike

      I did use the 2nd tube and did it over.... In another video

    You should let the gel to spread itself instead of moving the whole thing. Sorry for bad English.

    It sounds like you're saying INhesive instead of ADhesive, not trying to be insulting or rude. I'm just a bit curious if maybe this type of "adhesive" is called something different, i.e. "inhesive".

    I read a user had applied 3 screen protectors and now has a build up of adhesive. Has anyone found a way to remove the adhesive? And can you pry off a cracked protector once applied?

    Any idea if curing the centre of the phone could do any harm to the screen protector at all? I did it for about 40 seconds at the very end after 15s Top/Bottom then 60s Top/Bottom curing. My brother helped me out with it (way better at these things than I am) and we watched one video a day prior saying to give it a quick cure in the centre at the very end?
    Also any idea why they say not to put pressure to push bubbles out? is this to make you go through the process and buy another kit or is there a genuine reason? mines on just fine now and we managed to clear a bubble out of the bottom right corner before it fully spread to the bottom of the phone.
    Thanks.

      The new Zagg invisishield Elite is full adhesive and works amazing without you having to perform this crazy install. I repeat the new Zagg invisishield Elite only the ELITE has full adhesive. If you own a Curve Zagg screen protector go to the nearest Zagg booth and tell them your touch response sucks. They will replace the old curve with the upgrade ELITE screen protector for 8 dls.

      Yes if you order the replacement kit it's 34.99.... But if you go through the proper replacement methods with Whitestone... Your going to send them 12 for a replacement and another 10 to ship the out one out.

    • @RFMike

      A cheap screen protector doesn't give you this level of sensitivity.

    • @Zx14rrrrrrrrrrr
      @Zx14rrrrrrrrrrr 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Swaim I never had a problem with sensitivity. I always turn up sensitivity in the settings anyway. I have a note and the S pen works perfectly fine. Even when I'm using a drawing app.

      You must not own one or you would not make that statement. I waisted a lot of money on screen protectors that failed. This one is amazing and does exactly what it is supposed to do. After 2 mo. Still looks great no fingerprints. Love it and worth the money.
