Rather than trading draft picks for high salaried players, what I have done is go to free agency and sign players for 1 yr deals for wayy too much money. They expire at the EOY so it doesn't really matter. Just a thought. Best - J

I sign them to 8 yrs whatever they ask for - sometimes slightly lower $ and then to meet the cap floor I sign all the best free agents to 1 yr and a lot more than what they are asking for about 2- 3 mil more than what they are asking for. And it works out well or ill sign them to 2 yrs and trade them at the draft for 1st or 2nd rounders and get players at a steal pick
You should show the lines of teams that come out of nowhere. Florida was in the cup yout second year. Where did that come from? I would have loved to see what that team looked like.

@@TacTixHD that is a good point, just didnt consider it. in reality, there wouldnt be that many players on the free agent list, teams would keep them signed mostly, but then the game wouldnt be much fun if you cant get the guys you want. the ai definitely still needs work..example, there is no way teams would accept trades that would not let them sign their players ie Weber to Leafs for Liligren, then nylander and marner on free agent list. i do one free agent offer per day, 2 ways at 2 per day. as the days run pass it does get interesting as players get offers from other teams, and i usually get the guys i want, not always lol. thank you for your response, i do enjoy your videos!
idk if you have ever experimented with the rules but i find that if you turn offsides off and penalties to 4/4 the players will have a better sim. So Laine wouldnt be a 60 point guy
