    This video is to cover how to replace arb bushes, upgrading the Arb & pretty much anything else related to the rear anti roll bar.
    Tools wise,
    You will need to jack the car up and put it on stands
    13mm socket and ratchet to undo the brackets attached to the subframe
    Then a socket and spanner to remove the arb from the top of the droplink.
    Parts wise:
    I am fitting the R32 Mk4 Golf 19mm Rear Arb Pn: 1J0 511 409K
    The Strong flex 19mm Polyurethane bushes Pn; 221445B 19mm
    Genuine bolts Pn; N0102366 ( you will need 4)
    Please note that all videos are as a guide on how we would approach this restoration, please take care when doing it for yourself, we take no responsibility for any work you undertake yourself
    Hope you have found this helpful; any questions drop them in the comments below.
    Thanks for watching, see you next time.

    Just a point, on a standard exhaust with standard heat shield you need to drop both down to get access to do the change, you've got it easy with no shield and an aftermarket exhaust haha. Looking very tidy under there!

    Nice Video as always. Just a quick question about rear drop links; if you have lowered your rear suspension do you need adjustable/ shorter drop links???

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Julian Irving hey, that’s a good question, I wouldn’t of thought so but it does depend on how low you go and how much strain is put on the roll bar, I have never seen adjustable tears for this platform

      @@TheParrottBros What did you replace it with? DO you recommend the H&R or the standard r32?

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neville Carpenter I replaced the stock 14mm with the 19mm r32 one. I believe the h&r is maybe 21mm. So it’s whatever you can get for a good price money wise. The 19mm one makes a big difference

    • @TheNorville2
      @TheNorville2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheParrottBros Thanks a big difference and a better price.. i understand that i do not really need to do the front. Did you change you front?

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Neville Carpenter it all depends on what you want the car to do, bigger rear but stock front increases oversteer but most like that as gives more grip to the front. If you increase both the car stays more balanced whilst at the same time stiffer all round. I have got for the full r32 arb set up

  • @user-rp9hs3dp5u
    @user-rp9hs3dp5u 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Q Assume the 19mm arb brackets came with the new kit as the old 14mm arb brackets wouldn’t fit.
    Q Is the thicker arb part of another suspension upgrade you are planning or you think the 19mm arb & those shocks and springs will benefit handling over the 14mm arb + Strongflex bushes.

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eric Fisher the bracket is the same for all, the Bush is what differs. It is the difference between back and front that matters. Stock setup is more understeer and putting a stiffer one to rear you move the balance closer to oversteer. The combination of the bigger arb, and full back end of poly bushes it’s really tightened up the rear end no end. It’s a lot more predictable. If you go for a proper race set up coil overs you can actually use a smaller anti-rollbar or no anti-rollbar as the suspension is that good it’s not needed

      @user-rp9hs3dp5u 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
