Movie announced on facebook before every new episode. Get the movie and follow along. We do discuss the entire movie, including the ending, so if you want to avoid spoilers, watch the movie first.

I saw Zabriskie Point in 1970 as a teenager and had no idea what was going on until everything blew up - still one of my favourites - the music, cinematography & me & Daria in the car together driving across the desert in spite of a perilous future & devastating reviews..

For cartoon June you should definitely watch "The Secret of NIMH" based off of the great book "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH" with a great cast of actors for the voices everyone from Derek Jacobi to Dom DeLuise.

i was about to say the same thing! and the music is by Jerry Goldsmith who really set a standard for music in animated films that weren't musicals (like Disney) by using long and extended musical themes, as well as the addition of a wordless choir. Goldsmith also wrote the music to Logan's Run, and the main theme song is by Paul Williams (from Phantom of the Paradise). lots of crossovers with this show!

I really hope Grace Zabriskie gets into the Hall of Fame this year. She was in all the movies that Udo Kier was in season 2, you've named a term describing this phenomenon using her name and you've watched Zabriskie Point for the show.

I didn't realize who Antonioni was until you mentioned Blow Up. Could definitely see him writing this movie, but it really is pretty disappointing.
I really like movies where nothing much happens and yet they manage to engage you and bring out something from you instead of overwhelming you with everything. But in this movie it looks like nothing much happens, period. Oh well you can't be brilliant all the time.

For cartoon June, if you haven't already seen it, you should definitely check out Coraline. It's my favourite animated movie, and in my opinion, a rare example of a film adaptation that exceeds its source material. Additionally, you've yet to watch a stop-motion film on the show, so this would also satisfy that gap. Seriously guys, Coraline is pure magic.

Maybe for Cartoon June you guys could check out The Pagemaster? It stars Macaulay Culkin, Sir Patrick Stuart, Whoopi Goldberg, Frank Welker, and Christopher Lloyd. It also features Leonard Nimoy, Jim Cummings, and Ed Begley Jr. The beginning and end of the movie are live action, but it is mostly animated. I loved this movie as a kid, but I don't know how well it holds up. The first time I saw it I made my mom take me to get a library card and we started going there almost everyday after school.

When Craig says "But unlike you guys, we're eventually gonna vote Republican" all I can think of is how one of the prominent Black Panther Party leaders Eldridge Cleaver became a Republican and Reagan supporter in the 80s. The 70s and 80s sure had a way of changing those 60s revolutionaries.

Also I know these two came of age in the last gasp of the VHS era, but I wonder if they know of any movies that are on VHS only that they haven't seen. Not sure if you can dig up a VHS player today to see them, but would be an interesting take on the show.

Watching you guys struggle through this made me wonder: have you ever watched a movie that was so bad that you couldn't even finish it? One of mine that I remember particularly vividly was a french film called "À ma sœur!" that was basically just horror porn masquerading as a coming-of-age story. It is a movie with no redeeming qualities, and (even though I didn't even make it through the infamous final scene) it left a bad taste in my mouth for days.

So how'd you guys like Logan? If you haven't seen it, please do. It's an amazing quasi western superhero movie that's actually insanely stand-alone. Literally all you have to know when going is is who Logan is, who Xavier is, and that people don't like mutants, the previous movies are otherwise unnecessary. It's a beautiful and sad movie. If Jackman doesn't get an Oscar nomination for the movie then you know the people making that decision never saw the movie.

I can you assure you, British people were already using the term 'Daddy issues' in the late 80s. Perhaps not commonly, but I first heard it when I was around seven or eight. I don't think it's at all anachronistic to have heard it, here, as early as 84.
Taking cartoons, I remember you doing anime before, so I'll suggest a couple of them. Both by Satoshi Kon. Perfect Blue, his very best film. And Tokyo Godfathers, which is his most approachable by far
