I stumbled across a process that will eliminate having to go back eight times to reinforce the seams where you cut the square out to make the boxed corners! When I am sewing the eight seams, while the piece is on the machine, I take a tape measure...(for large bag), I measure up 2 inches from the folded edge, mark that spot and do a quick back stitch at the spot where I will be cutting out the 2 inch square! This way, already reinforced and no having to go back 8 more times to reinforce! WOO HOO!!! (my brain was actually working yesterday....lol lol)

Loved your video tutorial!! This is the first one I've seen that actually explains every step clearly - especially how (and where) to add a strap instead of a tab. This was confusing me until I saw your video. You answered all my questions at once!
I also appreciate no loud background music and unnecessary chatter - you stick to the subject. Great camera work!
    Thank you!!

Yes! I agree! So many weird videos for this type of bag that are very confusing. This one makes so much more sense! You make the tedious looking boxing process way more approachable. The shape looks perfect too, whereas others are often too flat or too tall. Also, I truly appreciate the free pattern that includes both tabs and a handle. I can’t wait to make these bags! Thank you!

I use a common handheld office stapler for some of the moves depicted, such as when setting in end tabs onto the zipper areas or for setting in the handles and also for setting the boxy corners for sewing. Staples are less likely to move vs. plastic clips and are easily sewn around and removed after.

I have made three of these for gifts. This video is very good. I am very picky about directions and I found this video one of the best I have seen. When assembling the first bag I could not visualize how the steps for the ends would get me to the desired end result. What a pleasant surprise when I turned the bag right side out and saw how it all came together very neatly. One recipient of my bag thought I was gifting them a Vera Bradley bag and was amazed to learn I had made it myself. Thank you for the video.

You do not need to interface waterproof canvas. If the outside was canvas you could probably skip interfacing that as well since it’s small project. I would still interface quilter’s cotton.
