    Awesome build! I just found this video while researching these trucks, I've been thinking of getting one as maybe a less expensive way to get into a square body. Seems like there's a lot of potential with them. I'm going to check out your other videos to hopefully learn more.

    I got a 21k mile 686 desert carc'd 1008 on 38" Patagonias and 5" lift w PSC and 1.5" wheelbase forward. Tons of inspiration here! I dig the Humvee bucket/jump and cable shifter. I want to go manual valvebody 700R4 on mine to stay analog bc I had great reliability w manual 700r from the old Camaro days and they came in the 6.2 burbs that people turbo'd.
    Take 5 min with some tire shine silicone on those door panels and they will look deep dark red again... Kept me from spending $200 on new panels!

    Which racor filter and assembly are you using. I have an 1984 k20 6.2. I keep a solar panel plugged in to keep my batteries charged as it does not get driven a lot. I agree with fuel economy. Not the fastest but it gets me where I'm going. Used to drive these and the Blazer when I was stationed in Germany from 88-90

    Mr. Grant - I've love to speak to you about your truck. I'm in GA and am rebuilding an M1028.

    So found a set of dually hubs and I'm in the process of installing new bearings, races and seals. Just looking at them, seems like it would be the equivalent of a 5 inch spacer.

    • @glockfan
      @glockfan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are closer to 3” spacers

    Did I see a gap between the front spring driver-side and the axle

    • @893R6-w8t
      @893R6-w8t 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a gap between the axle tube and the spring perch which is normal. But that spring looks twisted or something, maybe just the camera lens playing tricks.

    Love the truck. I have an M1008 and want to run 37’s what lift is in yours?

    • @glockfan
      @glockfan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I am running ORD parts on my truck. I am using their 4” shackle flip and 2” blocks on the rear. The M1028 springs make it close to an 8” lift in the rear. Up front, I am running a 6” leaf spring lift and an ORD 1” “zero” rate block.

      Just some lights I found on eBay. The aftermarket gauges are oil pressure, coolant temperature, and alternator

    Did you need to relocate the shifter because of using the 4l80e?? I have one that needs rebuilt so I was wondering how much needs to be fabricated if any?

    • @glockfan
      @glockfan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I opted for a cable shifter and relocated it just above the NP203/205 sticks

  • @quarksbay
    @quarksbay 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What adapter did you use for the 4l80e? Do you have the NP 205 trans case? Was installing the transmission pretty much bolt on or was there modifications required?

    • @glockfan
      @glockfan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I decided to go with an NP203 range box coupled to my NP205 transfer case. This effectively gives me 4:1 low range and it’s needed here in Utah. The 203/205 “doubler” kit was purchased from Offroad Design in Colorado.

    I'd be curious to know more about how you mounted the york air compressor. Did you fab up mounts or source them from somewhere?

    • @glockfan
      @glockfan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Me and a friend fabricated the mount. I’m sure he still has the cad files saved if you need a compressor bracket.

    I just got my Cucv and yours is beautiful! Is your solar panel wired directly on to your battery?

    • @glockfan
      @glockfan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine is actually wired through a Pulsetech fuse panel/charge controller.
