You definitely got a nice one. Hard to find these days. The CUCV hubs were always manually locking. Among us G.I.'s we always called them M one thousand nines, or Cuck-vees. Just sayin'.
I'm only 15 learned about these at 13 when I started looking for a vehicle might even buy one now but I called them cuck-vees without anyone telling me
In order to use the diagnostic connector on the dash you need "STE-ICE" Set. (Simplified Test Equipment - Internal Combustion Engine). The CUCV's have no on-board computer that stores codes. The STE-ICE will take readings from a set number of sensors. You have to compare those readings with logic charts in the Technical Manuals.
I miss mine Mine had stenciled "shit wagon" on the inside of the driver side door, and then some random ass numbers that were mostly rusted off, might've been a unit designator or some shit, I dunno
Hi is it recommended to keep the truck in 24v mode rather than 12v. I love your truck I have one, but I’m having problems starting it since the mechanic I went to turned it to 12 v.
@@mattlane2282 yes after that I’ve had problems starting it up. The thing starts up but after going to a few places around town I’m afraid to turn it off because it won’t turn back on. And it’s not my battery. The wiring is definitely fucked somewhere. I went in to fix my lights, because the trucks low beams would blow out after rain. So my high beams were being used. The mechanic changed it to 12v and said this truck should be on 12 not 24 v. And 24 v was the problem. I might sell it not sure.

great car! cant wait to get mine in a few months...but: is that a ammunitioncan between the frontseats? must have...did you do it by yourself? what is the size?
Hey Jörg, sorry for the late reply, it's a mortar can bolted right through the cab. Piece of cake to do, just make sure to use lockwashers. I believe it was for 60mm mortars.
I know I'm really late to this, but do you have any idea where I can find one of these? I'm looking to get one, but not having much luck. Thanks for the great walk through.
That is not your blackout light. That is a lamp for your bridge plate. Your black out light are small infrared lights in the bumper about a few inches wide they use them with night vision
Can you sell this to our Philippine armed forces? We know that this is one of the trucks you had in the States and it is a heavy-duty truck good for heavy work load in the U.S. Army. Even in Hawaii and Guam the service truck is this.
When you go blackout, it kills the lights, horn and turn signals.
Beautiful truck

Awesome! I like that mortar can idea. I might have to do that for mine
Can you give me some information to the solar panel, which connection is in the frintgrill
Thanks

All of the "M" (M1009, M1008, M1010,M1028, and the M1031) series trucks didn't have auto locking hubs, they were all manual.
Cory Farrar
Yep.
M1008-M1031.
Ah, good to know. The guy I bought it from said he converted it to manual. Must've been lying!
They had Warren hubs on them
Cool apocalypse vehicle

hilarious
Mine said "gypsy wagon" in white handwritten on the passengers side sunvisor when you fold it down lol
where did you get the solar charger? or is there a name on it?
That is a Beautiful Truck.
My main question is,
Do ya ever wanna sell her????
Can't hurt to ask.
😇👍🏼
The paint is called CARC - Chemical Agent Resistant Coating and the fuel nosel that fits inside the Jerry Can is called a Donkey Dick.
It looks like it has those folding vent windows if you don't have AC at least you can direct air on yourself
My only question is what is the fuel economy as well as top speed? Fantastic truck by the way!!
If you don’t mind me asking, what did you have to give for this? Trying to make sure I’m in the right range.

I appreciate the comment, it is a blackout drive light though. The small infrared lights on the bumpers are blackout markers.
